- The Allman Brothers Band with special guests Toy Caldwell and Bonnie Bramlett perform "Southbound" at Volunteer Jam VI at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN on January 12, 1980
Wow! Toy Caldwell was one tall, long legged, dude! Never really noticed it in MTB footage, as his bandmates were big guys as well (I believe the story is they all played football 'n basketball together in high school). Something a tad more noteworthy.... he's also the greatest American born guitar player/song writer of all time. 🤷🏻♂
Absolutely stunning this version the brothers is the best I’ve seen
One of the best versions of one of my favorite songs by them I've ever heard 💕💕💕

Bonnie Bramlett on vocals!.
This has got to be a first. Showing the Allman Brothers Band and not one shot of Gregg Allman.
There's a few seconds of him from behind around 6:40, then again just after that he's shown by a camera behind the drummers.
Does someone know why he didnt sing his part ?
Cameramen / video directors always forget to show the keys player.
Toy Caldwell has a solo at 2:07. He's standing at left with white pants. Someone made a comment about him being tall, long - legged. Never seen him in white pants before. His solo was turned down, could barely hear him and not much of a solo.
I was there
Lucky!
Killer fills by DToler on his lead break!! Smoking. Even though this style of Southbound has never been my fav
You prolly dont care but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account??
