I was pretty satisfied. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness were both left open-ended. So it definitely fit, having him ride off into a post-apocalyptic(?) landscape with a lady cyborg sidekick.
I didn't think I could get anymore excited for this TV show! Plus Bruce Campbell in Mallrats 2! Awesome!

I wish they gave this show 5 seasons. At 10 half hour episodes it would’ve been perfect.
I have so much respect for Sam and Bruce. They even shot a movie in my home country of Bulgaria. Man With The Screaming Brain was a riot.

I've rewatched the trilogy several times over the past few years and Army Of Darkness slowly made it's way to my top pick after years of going back and forth between 1 and 2 as my favorite.

Having this Kevin Smith while we lost the Magnificent Kevin Tod Smith (Ares on Xena) over a decade ago..and have Lucy so Xena herself here.. is truly unfortunate.. I know it's just their names.. BUT I don't even wanna watch it now.. This makes me so sad..
I was at the Hammerstein Ballroom that day. The first episode is so good. It hit every mark. There's a scene when we first see the silhouette of a 'certain weapon' (you know what I'm talking about!) that earned an audible gasp from every member of the audience. It was so great! Plus, the last line of the episode made me squeal. You could probably guess what it was.

Starz let them do anything, but not to much people have Starz. Now it is on Netflix I hope the series has a chance to go on.
AoD is my favorite but ED2 is a close second. Both are fantastic.

I think ED 1&2 are superior than AoD. I love Ash's cockiness in AoD, but the movie was too corny and cheesy compared to the original two.

Wow, Bruce asks this guy if he has a job and the guy works at Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Three years later, Bruce loses his job and ends up working for Ripley's Believe It Or Not!. It's like Bruce gave this guy dating advice and the guy repaid him back with a job.

I don't 'get' why people go in for spoilers; I don't get why it gives people satisfaction to know where something is going rather than the infinite possibilities offered by not knowing (I am a bit of a hypocrite though as the other day I found myself looking at onset photos of TWD trying to see if a certain guy was still alive--I wasn't even aware I liked that character until 'that' moment, had me screaming at the TV then sobbing uncontrollably).

So much foreshadowing. Woman asks if we'll ever see a girl get the chainsaw and that was the original plan for Dana's character at the end of Season 2. She wouldn't have gotten it right away, but that was essentially her destiny, that then became Brandy's destiny in Season 3. Maybe not necessarily a chainsaw, but symbolically, Brandy was going to take the mantle (at least briefly in Season 4, I think).

I find it a little strange that no one makes the connection between AVED and MNIB (My Name is Bruce). The similarities are unmistakable. Both have 2 young sidekicks, male and female. In both, Bruce plays kind of a loser. In both, he hits on the female sidekick. In both, he fights monsters. In both he starts out as a coward but eventually rises to the occasion. Weird that no one asks about it and the cast never brings it up.
... so, he doesn't hit the male sidekick? I'm pretty sure he does, dude.

I've been seeing this alot lately with movies and series. Are these people who suggest this stuff, really fans? cause it really doesn't sound like it.
Well, it's just sexism in general, but I agree. Rather awkward they'd feel the need to specifically let one of the ladies "take the mantle of the chainsaw"... I mean, when was this even in question? None of the male characters have been considered to do so.
Ash Williams isn't the one with focus because he's a man. He's the one with the focus because he started it. And he has the chainsaw hand because it was him making it become a thing.
It's honestly patronizing to women. Like, they are apparently not good enough to be cool on their own - they need to steal shit from already established male characters and just essentially become a genderswapped version of that character. And... that's just dumb, honestly.

Introgauge .C I think it doesn't help either that the female protagonist of the 2013 "remake" had her lose one of her hands, drawing parallels to Ash's character. So then these people want her or someone else fully become an Ash copycat instead of being their own character. It's really sad.

I'd rather they did a movie then a TV series. ED is not just Ash, its Sam Raimi. With a movie you get 2hrs of Raimi. With a TV series, only 1/2hr of Raimi per season.

In beginning of Bruce Campbell's auto biography "If chins could kill" the editor had some bad experience with Sam Raimi and his brother Ivan Raimi. He made derogatory remarks on Bruce and commented on how he liked the editor's secretory butts ( so that editor can arrange something for him *wink wink). Still nobody mentions this anywhere.

+Josh Stryker I was pretty psyched for that with some good early reviews, but yeah, crappy. All the stylistically-interesting stuff Raimi did just looked so much more interesting in comparison, even on a $700 budget. Kinda remarkable.

"Amazing" is to exaggerate, if you ask me. I think it was just... okay. Pretty standard for a modern horror movie, outside the climax. And, the movie seems to for some reason mistake Deadites for being like the possessed people in the Exorcist franchise.
The remake was fucking awesome man. It was made for 17M and it made 100M!
