Oh to add to the other requirements part, the documents have to be verified or notarized by someone like a principal of your school or a JP in order for them to be accepted (usually done by stamping, dating and signing a copy of the original document). Other than that well done Adun!
I’m so happy I found your channel 🥺... This information has helped me a lot I want to attend UWI Mona for Med school as well ....Keep up the great work ❤️

Awesome vid as always!! For those who obtained a degree before applying would it be an issue if I only took 1 chem course (Gen Chem) lol but took other bio courses and a physics course?
Good question. They just say that you must have “credits” in chemistry but they don’t specify how many. So I can’t say for sure but for reference, In my first degree, I took 4 chemistry courses- general chemistry 1 and 2 followed by organic chemistry 1 and 2. Perhaps email admissions to make sure. But don’t let it discourage you! 👊🏾
Hi! Do you know if there is anything else that should be in my autobiographical sketch besides why I want to be a doctor? Like should I include my activities/ achievements/ extracurriculars? Thanks so much for the help!
ABSOLUTELY! Med schools love (and pretty much, NEED) to see that their students are well rounded! So include as much as you can to show that you’re a strong all-around student! 🥰 hope this helps!
Hey there! Thank you so much for watching! The option to apply to the program should be on the admissions website. The link is in the bio. I hope this helps and good luck!! ❤️❤️🙌🏾
wow!!! I wonder, would UWI consider AP exams to the equivalent of A-levels? I took an AP Biology exam, among other subjects, in high school (I know, they are USA based)...but I’m curious if AP level courses would be considered? Very well put together Dun! And Bahamians need to get it together to make A-level courses widely available and widely encouraged/required 🤷🏽♀️
Hmm!! Good question!! I never heard UWI mention AP courses with regarding to admission and what having those would mean for an applicant. I’ll have to look into that! Thank you as always!! 🙌🏾 and I totally agree!!! A-levels, CAPE, something!!!
On question, I never liked my high school so therefore I didn't join any clubs ,or was a in any authoritative position,am in sixth form doing my unit two's doing classes at home ,would they still accept me ,I want to be a pharmacist and I passed my capes with 2s and a 3 ,would that be a problem?
Hey there!! Good question. The co-curricular form is mandatory however, I don’t know how much they “rate” it. It’s hard to say! But I always say to STILL apply! You never know. Maybe there’s something that you can do now, while in online school, that you can place as a co-curricular activity just to be sure!
Hi Adun. I'm from the Bahamas and I currently have three separate Associates degrees. 1. An Associate in Biology with Chemistry, 2. An Associate in Health Science and 3. An Associate in Biology. My cumulative GPA is 3.90. I also have 5 BGCSE's in English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Do you think I should still apply? I really would like to get into UWI Mona's MBBS program.
Hey, I'm an upper 6 student doing CAPE Unit 2 and I want to begin the application process for applying to UWI Medical School, and I don't known where to start, is there a link to the application...
Hey there! Best of luck to you!! 🙌🏾 There are links in the description box to all the campuses admissions websites. Once you click, you should be able to see a clickable link that says “apply now” and that will take you to the portal where you will complete and submit your application! I hope that helps! You’ll be great! 🙌🏾
Hi I have a question. If i don't have chemistry at CSEC level can I still apply for the preliminary year in UWI? I have bio and physics but chemistry. Btw your video is very informative ❤
I am going to complete my premed courses this year at AAIMS, Black River and wanting to get into UWI, but I don't know about the cape or CSEC or BGCSE. I'm a foreign student from India, I'm capable pf entering into UWI, but as you said I don't know if UWI takes our med school, AAIMS a competitive one. So I'm confused overall, can you help me..?
They have a list of prerequisites on their site, and i think they have special admission criteria. If you’re in doubt, call or email admissions and see what they can do.
hi! 🙋this is interesting! I'm not entirely sure what the requirements are specifically for those who obtained a nursing degree, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to be accepted so long as you took the science courses i mentioned like chemistry, physics, etc and have a competitive GPA. You never know! Give it a shot. I'd love to hear back! For reference, this is what St.Augustine campus' website says about non-natural science degree holders: "Applicants with first degrees other than degrees in the natural sciences will also be considered provided that: The university which granted the degree is recognized as competitive A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or its equivalent has been obtained Credits have been obtained in Chemistry and Biology and one other subject over two semesters during their university programme OR at least Grades I/II passes in Chemistry and Biology at Units I & II CAPE or GCE A'level or approved equivalent." I hope this helps!!
Depends on the year or campus and if you’re a sponsored student or not, etc! I paid about 5K US a year back at mona in years 1-3. I pay almost 9K US now at Bahamas campus for years 4-5. I hope this helps! I have a detailed video on tuition so feel free to check it out if you need more info! 🙌🏾
