- The best Fast and Furious movie (by an absolute mile) is Fast Five - and that's because of the effort that went into its practical action set pieces. Here's why.

(honourable mention to Dom's flying headbutt in F6 for 2nd best moment in the franchise)
Someone who recognises that stunt performers deserve their own set of awards!!! As a wannabee stuntman, THANK YOU! 🙏
A 'Best Stuntwork Oscar' is so overdue it's ridiculous. So much effort, they've been around for ever, it's just silly. Good luck with it!
@@SceneItReviews Thanks man, Its so difficult to afford all the necessary training and stuff but I'm already nearly there with motorbikes, working on horse riding at the moment, already have martial arts and stuff so it's going well. Just need to keep at it!
@@ashholiday123 nice one, good luck - i've got a friend who's a stuntwoman and she's regularly throwing herself down stairs haha - pretty hectic job!
I'd say F7 hit the peak of the series, & even James Wan's career. The stunts were not only the coolest, they were practically done with as minimal CGI as possible. Yes, even the plane drop.
The Rock saying “daddy’s gotta go to work” then flexing out of his cast was a highlight

True lol.
This is exactly why I think Mad Max Fury Road is seriously one of the best movies ever made. Its like the culmination all of that appreciation of the craft that f5 had but realized in an actual cinematic setpiece (not that f5 "isn't", but its different)
Fingers crossed for them using real spaceships in the next one lol
as long as they take some space NOS
The missing Oscar category for stunts is one of my go-to rants. I'm really fun at parties.
I used to work on shows & I've seen stuntmen & women go to the hospital quite a few times. The public hears when they die, but typically not when they are badly injured - its hard lighting a scene only to see a stuntman's head go through a car windshield unintentionally.
wow, this makes me want to actually watch a Fast and Furious movie
I urge you and everyone with a similar view to get out of the circlejerk echo chamber of "these movies are awful" and just watch them for what they are, super fun action adventure heist movies with a steady ramp up to superhero level scale and character. I love them and I can be the first to point out every flaw.
I second the motion, and urge you go watch at least the first one. It's far better then it has any right to be. I'm watching the series slowly with my daughter and am only up to F5 so far. They are really good cheesy cinema, at least 9000 times better then (say) the Star Wars prequels and sequels.
Thank you! Fast 5 was the last true fast and furious
I agree Fast Five is the best
Yes no doubt about that!
They literally went from street racing to the avengers it's crazy, as soon as I saw vin diesel stomp a concrete floor and collapse the entire building I was done... or the rock preventing a helicopter from flying by holding it... it's just too goofy at this point to talk seriously
26th comment on an 8k view video. It's pretty much the same quality as short segments on "the cool news networks". But still 8k...
dope video
appreciate it st33l 👍
Fast 5 & 6 the peak🥵🥵
Sigh I hate how much people hate on these movies. Yes, the original had a much greater sense of reality but let's be real....the original isn't all that original. It's Point Break with cars. 2 Fast 2 Furious is where the series began to embrace its own dumb fun and without that dumb fun, no one is talking about The Fast and the Furious today. Hell, I'd argue Fast Five is where the series actually figured out what it was meant to be....Axe body spray Ocean's Eleven (credit for that line goes to Patrick Wilheims) It would just be another action movie. People who don't like how ridiculous this series has become need to realize two things: that ridiculousness is unique. No, not unique in the sense that no other big budget movies are pure spectacle, but unique in Hollywood given that these movies have no actual source material. The first movie was made after an article titled Racer X brought the underground street racing world to the masses, but unlike every other big budget Hollywood movie, these movies aren't based on anything. Which means they can go anywhere....even outer space. If you don't like these movies, seriously, just go watch something else. I'm tired of people making videos and think pieces on how terrible these movies are when at the end of the day, it's the ridiculousness that fans love. No one who pays to see these movies is going in expecting the next groundbreaking piece of cinema that will sweep up at the Oscars. I also love those A24 Oscar darlings, but both types of movies can exist.
I love the series lol. Laughed my ass off during Fast X. Doesn’t mean they can’t tone down the CGI and ramp up the practical effects to make them more memorable.
@@SceneItReviews as much as I do love practical effects work generally speaking and especially in Fast Five, I wouldn't say these movies aren't memorable. No one who has seen all these movies will ever remember the moment they finally went to space (for better or worse lol). When you've built a reputation on getting more ridiculous as you go (at least since the fifth movie was released) sometimes you have to just embrace what you've become....which is pure laws of physics breaking fun
@@SceneItReviews
The CGI only got bigger since Hobbs & Shaw, F9 had covid-era quality control, & Fast X just doesn't care enough, but maybe the stunts are practical too, I've never seen the BTS of it.
tbh fast five is my fav due to the ending song.
5:20 fin.
