This is the kind of game preservation that I really love! A game that was practically unplayable by most of the world on a device that hardly anyone had. Not quite lost media, but as close as it gets!
Zeebo is very well known in Brasil, it was sold by TecToy there but only less than 30.000 units were bought by brasilians. Recently Zeebo turned into a joke there and a motive of loughts. Anyway its very cool to have a Zeebo emulator right now
I have a Zeebo and played Double Dragon which I actually bought online back then (my Zeebo is not jailbreaked) when the online service was working. Its actually a good version of DD (I even beat it). BTW, as the Zeebo outputs 480i, its possible to upscale it via the Framemeister because firmware 2.03 offers actual PAL-M support, but the catch is that it only works on interlaced signals. So PAL-M support its almost useless... unless you have a Zeebo :) Thanks for the video, VGE!
When's Zeebo Core on MiSTer FPGA!? I have an "Jailbreaked/Unlocked" Zeebo with the entire Console Library inside it. I am willing to donate to the Developer who's known in the scene and has a REAL interest in developing the core.
Yeah the chip is quite powerful. Is just that the whole software part of it (BREW) is absolutely horrendous. But if at the time it had really good software dev tools, it could've been almost PSP levels of 3D!!!
I thought this game was for sure lost in time. Thank God for video game preservation hobbyist. Ive been wanting to play this for around 5 years, and had pretty much given up on it
I'm so glad this game is now emulated. I've wanted it since it was announced. I almost bought a Zeebo back in the day for this one game. But I just couldn't justify the price of the console for one game. If anyone wants to play coop, let's go!
Yay! I always wanted to play the Zeebo version of Double Dragon, since I first saw some footage of it on YT many years ago. This is really cool development, thanks for the news.

I can't wait for Tekken 2 to work on this. The Zeebo version has higher character polygon models although it has some cut content. This was only exclusive to Zeebo and via a digital download for some obscure Japanese mobile phone.
@@hipsterelephant2660 I had a Zeebo until about a year back. Surprisingly good for what it was, and the guy I bought it from had almost every game loaded on it

@@VideoGameEsoterica No one knows how it works, but running Ridge Racer has a chance of rendering your other Zeebo games unplayable. The Zeebo hardware would be too far beyond the FPGA inside
Maybe the Mars FPGA board will be able to handle it?

I heard about Zeebo in late 2000's. Some sites back in the day covered some news about this Brazil only console.
I remember hearing about it back then vaguely
Someone needs to call Uncle Derek from Stop Skeletons From Fighting

I was thinking the same thing

Imagine porting Zeebo version of Double Dragon into different consoles (homebrew perhaps for PSP, DS & N64) so that everyone can play it.
That would be fun to see
it is better than the latest slop that was released last year on switch : Double Dragon Gaiden
