Liverpool is much more responsible for the result than United. This Liverpool team had an off day 100%. Gary’s point about if Liverpool played a decent team today, they would’ve lost is too true.
Great Peter Drury impression by Neville at the start, in fairness
This wasn’t a shock. Liverpool have been picking up points lately but have not been playing well. They seem to have lost the ability to open up packed defences and are always vulnerable to the counter attack. I have seen dozens of Liverpool v Utd games and this game was up there with the worst.
spot on hope they get this bloke back on next week
I always worry about Gary Nevilles mental state when united play 😂
Szoboszlai should have been booked for the most obvious dive in history. What were the officals looking at in order to miss that, because if you see it, you have to give a yellow?

@@floydtheboy1948 You have come to the wrong place for accurate journalism, mate 😂 Ok, equal most obvious dive in history.

I’d move Bruno on in the summer. His petulant antics need to be removed from the equation.
It's not about Bruno - it's about finally using a midfield pivot of two players that won't go galivanting up top to try and score like McTominay does.

All of my thoughts and prayers are with Tom Lockyer and all his family and closest ones ❤️ I wish him a speedy recovery ❤️
I honestly believe people are over analyzing Liverpool's performance today. The expectation of a 5 or 7 goal trashing is why everyone feels liverpool were that bad. As a United fan, we have seen United get away with results this season that left everyone scratching their heads. Any other day, Liverpool could have had 4 goals. We also have to remember the 'Great Man United' had 11 players behind the ball for majority of the 90 minutes. Most team would struggle. Man City drew to Crystal Palace after being 2 goals up and no one is talking about that. This season is very wide open. I won't be surprised if Man United get beat by West Ham on the weekend because we will be forced to actually play football and not just sit infant of our goal for 85mins.
Exactly this
Did you see the game mate. If you did see it, do you know what Klopp's football is? Not only were the forwards shambolic, the entire midfield was slow. Liverpool are known for their speed from front to back, the quick passing. There was none of it. The game was slow, only 8/34 shots on target. There was no sense of urgency in anything they did. So many crosses for no avail. Trent was awful, Salah was awful. As bad as United were, in my opinion they got the job done. Probably they should have won it with the Hojlund chance. Yes they might lose against West Ham, but no Liverpool player or supporter (I know u support United just saying in general) should take pride in today's performance because they might have scored 4, or even the game last weekend against Palace. If you play this game for more 90 minutes, it will be United who would be winning the game
Cynicism is such a cowards way to live
Lpool have been average this season yet sit 2nd could you agree on this?
Its just a speculation... If man utd beat Westham your prediction is wrong then
Ppl can criticize manutd for that performance and the way they approached the game BUT 1 point away to a title contending side is what made jose mourinho a champion and winner. 1 point away to your rival is huge.
Its not 2004, getting a point away is not enough anymore, to win the prem now you can only lose 4-5 games and you have to win nearly every match
@@LUFC273 trust me getting 1 point away and winning at home is good enough
@@mefninja No it isn't Man City and Arsenal only drew 5 games last season meaning you now have to win the majority of away games too
@@LUFC273 drawing 5 games when you have max 2 title rivals. Thats 2 away games to draws and 3 to spare. Going to anfield and winning is rare even for city

Darwin Nunez will cost us. Performances against Luton and United and quite a few others have been shocking. Last season i said hes not clinical and does everything but score. Got some stick but thought okay well back him and hes doing the same thing again
He’s the most unlikable player in the league. Not a Pool fan but ya gotta like Sala, Allison and Diaz. Nunez isn’t worth the money.
@chrissmith3668 Diaz has been poor this season. Ik he's had it tough with what happened with his dad. But output wise not good enough. Needs more goals and assists. Can be a handful but was more electrifying when we first brought him. Doesn't comitt his man beat them or impact the game enough for me
@@dhanyal7356slows the attacks down a lot too. Needs to be quicker with his passing and decision making.
Somebody needs to sit nunez down and explain the offside rule to him.
@@dhanyal7356 yup felt diaz was otg compared to nunez today. midfield just didnt really convert over to him today
I think most people who thought this would be a drubbing weren't Liverpool fans - we have seen that Liverpool's form has been sketchy, and it's been a nice surprise to be top of the league.
I seriously cannot believe how he is viewing the Liverpool game. With everything put into context we lost 7-0 there last season, we just got knocked out of Europe and we’re on a poor run of form, and look at the amount of unavailable first team players we had. Ten hag had to play like that and we actually had several very good chances in that game. Yeah it wasn’t treble winning united but this Liverpool team at home are always gonna dominate no matter the opposition
Peter Dury you mic was louder than than Anfield. Today
Neville pure class❤❤❤😅😅😅
Liverpool bottled it tonight
For me (Liverpool supporter) the united rivarly is not what it once was. Maybe that has something to do with the atmosphere, I feel like other LFC fans agree. like there’s more respect between the two sides now than hate.
It could be because UTD are no longer the force that they once were, plus having 70% of the Liverpool supporters from outside the Liverpool area has taken something away from the atmosphere.
As a united fan, i just want to say theres no respect for the dirty scousers.
Nah, the hate is still there, I don't know what you're seeing.
Both Utd and Liverpool hate each other, but there is mutual respect because their success was built on a culture. I think the growing success City has built through consistent cheating has shifted animosity between both Utd and Liverpool onto them. It is more so Liverpool who has suffered the consequences of Cities cheating because they're more competitive recently, however Utd share no love for their pretentious neighbors and culture built entirely on money.
The issue is that the games aren’t as good as they used to be. They’re either Liverpool or united handily winning one sided matches (recent years it’s been liverpools turn) or drab boring draws. It’s not the same quality of a city vs Liverpool game or spurs vs arsenal game for example. It’s still the biggest derby but purely based on both teams historical merit rather than competing with each other to win a league or even a cup final. Like when was the last time either of these two met in a cup final? 2 decades ago? And the last time they both competed for the same league title Rafa was still in charge of Liverpool 15 years ago. The rivalry is there but there’s not much substance to it anymore other than history, both in and out of football.
If United weren’t a club in the north west of England, the relationship would be more akin to the one Liverpool has with arsenal. On most occasions, arsenal and Liverpool fans, teams and managers have respect for each other and usually root for the other out of the other big 6 teams when not directly competing against each other. It’s something I’ve noticed for years being a Liverpool fan, we dislike Chelsea or spurs way more than we dislike arsenal.

City will be back soon, every team will go through a bad run during the season, it's came early for them and it's better.
I agree. This time during the 2020/2021 season City was ninth and they still won the league😃
Man City is on the decline! They are not as strong as they were 2 years ago. If they miss key players now, they get exposed now. A few years ago, they had 2 players for each position that were almost the same level.
Let's hope the bad run continues for them for a few more games 😂😂😂, then its really curtains for them.

Gary Neville is a pundit genius. Can’t get enough of his insight.
I’ve never seen manutd play like that against Liverpool before. But I guess it was necessary tactic cause let’s be honest the squad weren’t gonna be all over Liverpool
Any chance it's just natural variance against a pretty decent defensive performance (maybe parking the bus, but that's fine) ..? Liverpool are still second and a point from second, and I think they played fine today. Think it's possible to read a little too much into this...
Nothing to be shocked about, united parked the bus and liverpool were just not good enough, we're not ready yet for a title challenge but I am happy with how far we've come since last season
But they didn’t park the bus. they defended really well (Liverpool were poor) and they also had the 2 best chances and could have won it. I think Liverpool being the better team weirdly got away with a draw considering the clear chances.
It was part of the plan. Stop Liverpool at what they are good at counterattack. Klopp should've figured it out. Don't blame us for your failure.

It won’t happen but if Emery wins the league ahead of the guy Arsenal replaced him with it would be the funniest thing to happen in quite some time
At this moment in time?
It's Gary Neville again!
For all the “praise” the English media have been piling on, let’s take a moment to reflect on how much better our defence is when Harry Bloody Maguire is nowhere near the lineup. The media see him defending headers on his 6 yard line and gush about his “comeback” while completely ignoring the fact that we’re defending so many crosses BECAUSE he’s on the pitch.
I’m sure the atmosphere will be up for it against arsenal
They hate Arsenal don't they?
Wouldn't be so sure about that. It was absolutely dead last season until Xhaka and TAA started throwing their handbags around.
The atmosphere came to life when Xhaka had a bump with Trent. The atmosphere was just silent until that moment
At this moment in time.
United's tactics took the crowd out of the game. When people say United didn't play well, I disagree. They didn't offer much going forward, however they played well considering the tactics they were asked to play.
The league is so open. Villa are probably playing better than anybody. While Arsenal have been getting the results, they’ve not had the best performances. Similar to Liverpool. City are heavily struggling, I really wonder who can win the league this season.
Disagree about recent Arsenal performances. They have been the better team in every game they have played for at least a month. They just could not finish vs Villa.
Arsenal dominated every game with so many struggling with fitness lol. If anything Villa are the ones that are riding their luck with NO real injuries to their first team. Mad take.
Arsenal are winning the league.
Arsenal have been playing really well. They might do it. We liverpool dont have any goals upfront beside Salah.
If assna plays there cards right and don't bottle, they win this
Liverpool overrated but what's new. We beat them goal unjustly ruled out, Fulham drew with them another debatable winner, Palace last week dodgy red card. They're not great they just have a lot of friends in the media and the officials, Arsenal are a much better side and a bigger threat.

The utd fan base pessimism this week was shocking. I said it before the game that Liverpool are not the team pundits think they are. They've been lucky a lot this year. And once you're outside the first 11, there's not much to them. Utd had 9 first team players out ahead of this game including an entire first pick midfield. And I still felt Utd would get something out of the game

I don't buy the complacency thing with City. There's been individual errors, bad decisions, injuries and suspensions that have contributed but bigger thing is they didn't get stronger in the off season. Other clubs improved their squad but City have lost a lot of experience particularly Gundogan and the replacements haven't done it yet.
Nice to see Gary Neville back on the Gary Neville podcast, really makes such a difference when he’s on the show

What's with the audio???? Same every week. Gary sounds fine. Host levels are +++++++
Nothing to be shock really if you consider the game plan from Man Utd. In football, there are 3 possible outcomes; win, draw or lose but for Man Utd, they are only 2 within their spectrum; to draw and not to lose. So, draw is the best possible outcome otherwise there will be half billion depressed people on the planet today 😀
Is Gary Neville on today?
have to say shocked to see gary neville on the gary neville podcast 😅
At this moment in time I'm watching Gary neville on the Gary neville podcast. Let's be clear
Great to see Gary Neville on the Gary Neville podcast again!
