Do You Have The Tight Hip Walk?

- Here’s how a hip that can’t rotate can become the root cause of lower back, hip, knee, or foot pain. [1]
A hip must be able to rotate a minimum of 15-20 degrees to protect neighboring joints like the lower back, knee, and ankle.
Now, if your hip can’t rotate, there are two main ways your body will compensate.
1. A very visible snapping leg twist (I’m exaggerating this motion to highlight it)
2. Asymmetrical shoulder rotation and arm swing.
Ideally, when your left leg steps forward, your left pelvis moves forward with it. The right hip absorbs the rotation created by the left leg, moving you forward.
But what happens if that right hip can’t absorb that rotation?
As soon as the right heel lifts off the ground, that stored rotational force snaps the leg and rotates it.
This ‘snapping’ motion alters how the spine, hip, knee, and ankle all move with each step.
Where this compensation becomes a chronic problem is at scale. If you walk some 5,000 steps a day. This happens 5,000 times a day. That adds up to 35,000 times a week, which means over a month, this compensation occurs 140,000 times.
If painful movement problems or muscular imbalance are preventing you from doing what you want, let's first look at how you’re walking to understand why you feel the way you do.
Put your phone on a chair, and record yourself walking.
Then review.
Does one of your legs ‘snap’ when the heel lifts off the ground?
How about your arm swing, is one arm swinging more than the other?
Leave a comment below with what you noticed. Let's talk about it!

time to learn how to walk!
Any success?
I want to tell you septrely what happened with my me when I did this @@greentreerelaxingmusic2924
I have the opposite. My hips sway/swing like a woman. What can I do to train my body to walk correctly?
Me to sadly
Any solution of this
@@Zero00106 nothing to be embarrased about
Male hips do sway as well to a certain degree
Female hips look like they sway more because they are wider
It is normal mechanics of the male body but if it sways too much than it needs correction
Observe any man walking with a good posture and you will notice they do have a noticable hip sway side to side just not as much as women
Only time they do not sway is when we are in posterior pelvic tilt
Hope that helps you be more confident because I had the same problem
@Pikachuvs how did u correct this
Try to walk with your leg more straight, i see some people walk with knee bend and dragging the lower leg, next time you walk, try to lift more of your thigh up
i do, now what?
I have that problem! How do you fix it?
Hey man i have this snap movement and assymetricsl shoulder movement please tell how can i improve.
so that's why walking is painful
This happens to me!
What can i do to fix my hips? Any advises...😢😢 please
The relief in my lower back, thanks.
So how do i fix it
I have this. Is the remedy to stretch your hips? Any suggestions for the best way to do this? Thanks in advance
Go see a physiotherapist. There could be a lot of causes.
this idea that the pelvis rotates forward with the forward leg means that the body is essentially pulling through the walking pattern instead of pushing. this would imply that the back leg would have a pelvis that's posteriorly rotated with an internal rotated femur which would switch off the glutes. so it actually works against what the muscles are suppose to be doing.
I waddle like a penguin, like from side to side... my feet always pointed outwards
Same must be knee knocking
PEC pattern in PRI - thank me later
How to solve
So in the video you see if the right hip can't rotate. Do you mean that the right hip lacks internal rotation?
My left hip hardly goes down when I bend right knee also my left arm does not swing when walking
Now because of this I look like I'm KGB
I have the same problem
Both my legs snap but stay straight within my path. Any suggestions
How can we train this?
What is solution?
We have to go in depression
My foot is not clearing the ground what can I do to correct it
You probably have high uric acid deposit in your joints check a blood test.
The npc walk at the end xD
Bit of an annoying video in that it doesn't point to any solutions whatsoever
Hip replacement surgery. Like.. the entire hip.
After getting hyperuricemia i have this
bit of a math error here: if you do 5000 steps, this only happens 2500 times, if it is only on one side as demonstrated here.
People, check out videos on hip impingement, some give corrective therapy.
I walk like a terminator and run like one 😅 I can use my hips if I want to but I have been taught to not draw attention of males so it kinda inbeded in me and I hate it.
That's so funny. I was trying to find out why Biden walks so funny... And this is how i walk with my left leg 😂😂 I didn't know it was called like this
