THE greatest guitarist of all time, THE reason Garcia found the freedom to play what he felt. This man deserves a whole lot more credit than he gets, but I bet he doesn't care. Because this man plays from the heart. The most solid lines I've ever heard emanates from his guitar. His sense of rhythm is perfect, his fills own a place of their own. Pentatonics only hope to even challenge it. Not taking anything from Jerry at all, he filled his space as perfectly. But without the rhythmic lines Bob laid, your body wouldn't move the way it does.
Bobby deserves far more credit than he gets as a great guitarist. He's a bigger influence on my playing than even Jerry. No disrespect whatsoever intended to Jerbear.
I love that Scaring the Children is so stripped down, thus showcasing Bobby's beautiful and underrated guitar playing.( Not to mention the skill of Wasserman and Lane), but I will always be partial to Ratdog's Horn section and layered guitars... I think its a wonderful thing that uncle Bobby has enough time on his hands to experiment with different lineups and arrangements of his songs; for variety is the spice of life. I also love Weir with the Nationals.
you prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
This maybe the best drumming I have ever heard I actually cannot believe how on point it is I expect it from Rob and Bob but dang the younger gun is really really locked in.. face well stolen
What if all tomorow brings is ashes and glass And I can't tell you child, "this too shall pass" If all the world were windswept, cold and gray (note 1) And in the end there's nothing left to say If all the silicon and best laid plans (note 2) Became the master, and the fall of man If all the earth were baked to hard red clay Not so far from where we are today Ah well anyway Come on darlin', swing and sway Daddy gonna find us a better way And if that better way don't float Daddy gonna find us a tighter boat And if that tighter boat don't sail Grab a bucket babe, and start to bail And if that bucket spring a leak Little miss, we're up the creek What if fire came raining on the hills And mountains made of rusting Coupe De Villes And all God's children find themselves alone (note 3) And all the poets took to throwing stones Guess we're on our own No way out and no way home Come on baby, it's time to sing Daddy gonna grab that old brass ring And if that old brass ring don't fit Daddy gonna get to fixin it And if that old brass ring stays broke Daddy gonna buy you a billy goat And if that billy goat don't bark Gonna give that goat the old kick start Old kick start What if all that was left was ashes and glass And I can't tell you child, "this too shall pass" (note 4) And if those four horsemen can't be turned away And everyone's too paralyzed to pray Too paralyzed to pray And the jury's out on judgement day And there ain't nothing left to say Nothing left to say Come on baby we can fly Daddy's got a stack of alibi's Alibi's shot full of holes Come on child, let's rock and roll And if that roll takes us to France Teach them Froggies how to dance Keep on dancin', sing the tune We'll be dancin' all around the moon And if that big old moon go bust Well ashes to ashes, baby, dust to dust Baby it's time for one last rave Keep on dancin' on our own graves On our own graves Keep on dancing On our own graves Keep on dancing Keep on dancing

So the Kids they dance and shake their bone , while politicians keep throwing stones cause its all too clear we are still on our own singing Ashes Ashes all fall down .....

Never get tired of this. Rob, Bobby, and Jay were great together.
Solid sound from only three guys...this swings and sways better than anything else I've ever heard. Thanks Bob for bringing it on!
Rest In Peace Rob Wasserman
Ashes and Glass is one of my fave Bobby tunes. To hear it redone in a jazz trio setting, that had me dancing!

Yes Bobbie is one special player, only understood by those who play...
Bobby is pure magic.
Matthew S exactly! I sadly didn’t SEE until Jerry was gone. The mansrthymical and rifffy licks keep expanding. Gives this ole head hope !,,

This TRI Scaring The Children set is absolutely incredible.

Like a Wolf Bros premonition. Rest peacefully Rob
What a cool fucking song. Bobby is a rock legend!
Voice still sounds clean and healthy. Saw him on Haight during a street fair. Was pretty nice. Thought I saw Janis also. Didn't want to be a nuisance.
RIP Wass!

Scaring the Children was only Bob and Rob the times I saw them.
NICE guitar work "Hollywood Bob", wow ...

Come on darlin', swing and sway

Guess we're on our own
No way out and no way home
Come on baby, it's time to sing
Daddy gonna grab that old brass ring
And if that old brass ring don't fit
Daddy gonna get to fixin it
And if that old brass ring stays broke
Daddy gonna buy you a billy goat
And if that billy goat don't bark
Gonna give that goat the old kick start
Old kick start
What if all that was left was ashes and glass
And I can't tell you child, "this too shall pass" (note 4)

And everyone's too paralyzed to pray

Come on baby we can fly
Daddy's got a stack of alibi's
Alibi's shot full of holes
Come on child, let's rock and roll
And if that roll takes us to France
Teach them Froggies how to dance
Keep on dancin', sing the tune
We'll be dancin' all around the moon
And if that big old moon go bust
Well ashes to ashes, baby, dust to dust
Baby it's time for one last rave
Keep on dancin' on our own graves
On our own graves
Keep on dancing
On our own graves
Keep on dancing
