I worked concert security for Bill from 1987-1993. I was at five new years shows in a row. THIS gig being the last because of course the Dead stopped doing them in respect to Bill. I know the band tried to do a happy mood, but Bill having been close friends of the band, they found it very hard to do. I understand, I had a couple friends that died and I could not bring myself to be happy for a while. I had been honored to work for Bill and countless Dead shows from Oakland collisium to Henry J. Kaiser auditorium in oakland to the Shoreline Amphitheater to the Frost Amphitheater at Stanford U. Met Jerry a couple times and Bobby and then Mickey also.
Oh eat me you brainwashed liberal. So is Tuberculosis, the Flu, Microscopic viroids, colds, and everything else that humans get. Shove that Covid crap up your poop shoot. We have something called an immune system Even Aryan Brotherhood cats get down on this music but I gotta say, so do a lot of idiot liberals that are too afraid to shake your hand and then wipe their ass with their own hand 🤷🏼♂️
This is when Jerry started playing with that Octavio effect. It got to be a really distracting part of his playing in later years, mainly because he was badly out of tune so often with it. It's restrained usage during this round of shows is tolerable. Pretty good show- well played, but pretty tame for the most part. This is Jerry playing well within his potential. I like it when he is at the edge of it.
@@bunnybeckman8029 I'm not sure what is confusing to you, but I'll try here- the Octavio effect is a guitar effect that doubles the note an octave higher. Jerry used it in the last few years fairly extensively, but in my opinion, never really mastered it. Otherwise, I think Jerry plays it pretty safe in this show. He sounds good, but not pushing it. One man's opinion.
