Extraordinary! As soon as that Vallejo Brown Sand and Water Mixture, for the areas where Sand collected, dried up, it just ellavated the model into oblivion!
Skullforge has released the second batch of these. There are some super cool figures this time around. A flame trooper, warlord, scouts, and shoretroopers included. I'm printing mine now.
I love the theme of the Remnant being flipped as the new rebel/resistance. Something we haven't seen explored I don't think since the Jedi Knight games. I also love the paint job by the way. It's just making me want to paint up some Imperial Remnant's myself.
The Empire on the back foot - beaten but not defeated - and still a power to be reckoned with in its fading days would be an amazing playground for some really interesting stories in the Star Wars universe. I'm reminded of something my history teacher used to say, "Empires don't fall; they become something different." From Rome to Byzantine and so on, taking that route with the Galactic Empire would make for some fascinating tales.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Imperial agents, inserting themselves into the senate or sewing themselves into planetary governorship. Small strike teams sabotaging planets and supply lines to disconnect them from the New Republic. I definitely relish this idea as you refer, these things often take place in reality as well. It would 100% make Star Wars even deeper to see these ideas fleshed out, imo.
What an incredibly cool model. Gives Empire forces some of that cool, gritty character usually reserved for the Rebels. Not sure how your aesthetic tastes always manage to match mine!
i almost finished another 20 imperial guard infantry, just need to do the grey eagles metal and black boots so close 1 another great tutorial man fantastic work!
The whole pack is just really well designed in that respect. The sculptor took the concept art and ran with it for some combat poses, too. It's fascinating to see how 3D printing opens up the possibilities for 'small scale' sculptors doing stuff like this!
I don't got any Stormtroopers to paint, but I do have some Imperial Guard on my to-do shelf I wanted to paint like the MNU troops from District 9. Guess I gotta do that, now!
Super late comment but this is the single most helpful video I’ve see regarding stormtroops, thank you so much for the techniques! I just ordered a makeup brush to try this style out with my imperial troops I ordered, your take on this is the perfect medium of grimdark and detail!
Oh man, I really need to make some of that Marine Juice. You've done so many amazing minis with it. I think it will work great on some of my D&D NPCs and humanoid enemies.
You should! The Remnant pack is full of really characterful figures, and there's headless variants of the combat poses so you can add your own and tweak them to how you'd like them to look.
Cool mini, we could compare these scruffy imperials to the (very) late war germans, when they had to rely on every kind of uniform was on hand. It's a pity no one tought of making some plastic boxes for this saga.
Damn awesome mini and paintjob, never heard of these guys before, they also do Naboo Royal guard minis which I think are cool as feck and I've always wanted them in mini form.
This looks fantastic, from the sculpt to the finished paint job. It's tempting to buy these minis and kitbash them with a Rebel Alliance squad for the latter's army, akin to an army of Imperial deserters.
Now THAT would look rad! The combat poses in the pack come with headless options, too, if you wanted to play around with other sources for heads and helmets for variety's sake.
It's a little too tall to hold in front of the camera with the angle I have to record at using my current setup, unfortunately. Great for when I'm painting for myself, but a pain in the neck when I'm trying to hold something for folks to see!
Fantastic paint job! Thank you for bringing these kickass minis to light, I really dig their design and it’s such a shame there’s no official merchandise with the remnant concept design! Definitely a purchase for me 😁
No idea! I'm not in the UK. 😂 Apparently Halfords do an excellent grey primer which plenty of people I know use, but I can only share what I've heard on that.
I typically use one of the little Citadel texture spreaders. The broad flat end and the smaller tip at the other end are actually super useful. One of those unlikely wins from their tool collection!
I've been digging around for legion stls and the designer linked is a gold mine. Thanks!
Extraordinary!

Back from the dead! First video on the catch up spree. Loving the model and colour scheme.
Thank you , Troy .
🐺
I just bought that vallejo brown sand basing stuff a couple of weeks ago. It's wonderful
Hooray! Another fantastic video! :)
Oh! Looking sweet! I love the mixed armor, looking properly rag tag scruffy.
I love your videos because of your videos for death guard and drybrushing space marines I have been able to get through my pile of shame thank you
Nicely done, those shiny boys ain't so shiny anymore!
The model looks great and he has the look of a soldier using whatever equipment he has at had. Thanks for sharing this.
Ohhhh my God I've wanted to get my hands on these guys for sooooo longggg
Yas! More Star Wars legion. Looks amazing as always!
Yay Star Wars! Love the pieced together look of this guy. Now we wait and see what Atomic Mass Games does with Legion.

Beautifully grubby trooper

Well this is freaking awesome!
Nice fix on the citadel paint pots that won't stay open there - I'll have to use that one myself on my irksome pot of Druchi Violet.
That is a very nice model, both in terms of sculpt and paint job.
Really awesome!
What an incredibly cool model. Gives Empire forces some of that cool, gritty character usually reserved for the Rebels. Not sure how your aesthetic tastes always manage to match mine!
Great minds think alike and all that. ;D
That turned out great. makes me wish I had room for a 3D printer.
These are great and also this is a unique video.
Great work on this mini and as always thank you for sharing a few very special minutes with us!
i almost finished another 20 imperial guard infantry, just need to do the grey eagles metal and black boots so close
1 another great tutorial man fantastic work!
Great work Troy, it's great how a figure can tell a story without it being too obvious.

Gorgeous work as usual! This would work perfectly for Sandtroopers, too!
This is very cool
That brown is nice, damn your technique is much faster than mine for storm troopers :D
I don't got any Stormtroopers to paint, but I do have some Imperial Guard on my to-do shelf I wanted to paint like the MNU troops from District 9. Guess I gotta do that, now!
This looks outstanding. Feel quite motivated to go back and finish my 15mm sci-fi 👍🏻

I also was struggling to find a good color for the imperial officers uniform so it’s double helpful👌🏻
Looks sick man! I love this

That wash 😯😯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That is a gorgeous model. Makes me wish (not for the first time) that I had a 3D printer.
It turns out they've actually got a fairly broad range of printers out there! :D

Love Skull Forge stuff. Would love to see your take on the Sardaukar minis they have
Great work. I’m tempted to get some of these guys.

You really had a ... blast... painting him? You're an inspiration on making things look so easy :) keep up the great work

im going to try dirty cape with my BA German's to get that dirty uniform look
Very nice paint job indeed, but where is your spin top figure holder gone is it broke??😁
It's a little too tall to hold in front of the camera with the angle I have to record at using my current setup, unfortunately. Great for when I'm painting for myself, but a pain in the neck when I'm trying to hold something for folks to see!
I feel like something is missing, regardless always liked star wars. Live long and prosper.
Fantastic paint job! Thank you for bringing these kickass minis to light, I really dig their design and it’s such a shame there’s no official merchandise with the remnant concept design! Definitely a purchase for me 😁
Just wondering, have you ever painted a SWL Boffin? I just started painting my first figures this week. Thank you for your painting tutorials.
Great show for painting models what's your mixeror how many drops for each
Stop tempting me! I don't need to start a legion force right now! (clicks link anyway) 😅
Where do you find is the best place to get Vallejo Sprays in the UK without spending a fortune on shipping? And this is a great video!
No idea! I'm not in the UK. 😂 Apparently Halfords do an excellent grey primer which plenty of people I know use, but I can only share what I've heard on that.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio I always thought you were UK based! Dunno why! 😄
Sonic this was great.
I get sad when you say “I’m a go outside and hit it with a Matt varnish “ , because I know the video is over, but… amazing content as always! 😃👍🏽
Awesome :-)
Sledge, man, c'mon! You keep doing my wallet dirty! I've been side-eyeing that release for a while now...
Don't make me shake my fist at you..!
But they're so cooool... :D
Funny I just bought some
Good call! They're cracking miniatures.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio im doing a scarif theme
I'll say the took off some plates for heat management
Late comment but are they very fragile? I've had my eye on them for a while but I heard they are very fragile.
What tool did you use to apply the texture paint?
I typically use one of the little Citadel texture spreaders. The broad flat end and the smaller tip at the other end are actually super useful. One of those unlikely wins from their tool collection!
Thanks for the quick reply!
Ohhh my he looks ruined I’m the best way
i mean, the actual Legion Storm Trooper looketh like crap so these are a nice get around
