I’ve been riding for 2 years and so far the motorcycle cruising community are so much nicer than those who ride sport bikes on my personal experience. I so love seeing others riding on a beautiful day no matter there ride.
I have been riding for 50 years, I have started out riding a Suzuki TM125 dirt bike. I have owned 15 Harley Davidson motorcycles over the years. Leather does not make any one a tough guy !!!! But some think that’s why you wear it. I have always respected any rider out there. Harley is just my favorite.
Leathers protect, that's what it is about, plus you bond to your leathers, apart from practicality, everything else is mainly BS! Why do you think warriors wore them?
@@dougbruce8518 You can do that without 'downing' other rider's choices and thinking / acting as though you're special due to the bike that you chose to ride.
I've been M/C touring since 1982. No cell Phones, GPS, Internet, Tow Trucks not really meant for bikes. Some motels just got the NEW Weather Channel. The wave used to mean, I see you and I got you.
I have ridden Harley’s for a long time i find that most people are friendly even the patched guys are happy to talk to you , with those guys you just have to be respectfull other than that i couldn’t care less what you ride as long as you are a good person . The road is there for everybody just enjoy and stay safe .
The key is that you also ride a Harley. As a sport bike rider who nods or acknowledges every rider I see, I can say that without a doubt - Harley riders return the courtesy the least…
I am 50 yr old and have been riding motorcycles since a little kid. From dirt bikes to sport bikes to cruisers. I love bikes! But have never owned a Harley. Granted they are nice bikes, but unfortunately it's the Majority of people who ride them are pricks! IT IS NOT a small part of the community but the majority. At least that's been my experience. I love to ride, so am I suppose to deny myself the enjoyment because it not a Harley? I just don't get that. An for the ones who think so, GET OVER IT! I just tired of seeing riders put down, made fun of and in rare occasion just absolutely try 19:44 to cause a non Harley rider to crash on purpose! That's just pure evil I think and unfortunately they ride Harleys. I do want to reiterate, of coarse it's not everyone, just the majority.
I just hate the Harley superiority complex! Lighten up, give other riders a nod/wave. Also the "you're just jealous that you can't afford one" attitude. If we're riding an adventure bike or sports bike we're probably more interested in performance rather than something shiny that struggles to corner. I feel Harley riders need to try giving more respect rather than demanding respect be given to them.
Around my city there’s around 4-6 hd guys, not a single one of them have ever given me a nod or biker wave. I’ve made eye contact with them at stop signs and red lights, nothing. But every single sport bike and adv I’ve came across always initiate the wave to me. I’m on an Indian Rogue, btw. Not a crotch rocket. To say it turns me away from HD and their riders in general is an understatement. Thankfully I’ve came across Harley guys outside of my city that have acknowledged I even exist in their world. I guess the hd guys in my city are just dbags. They certainly don’t show any biker comradery.
@@mikey8946 We’re both on two wheels enjoying it. That’s what the wave is all about. Stay safe and stay upright. I don’t see how that’s difficult to understand.
@@mikey8946Stop comparing motorcycling to other vehicles, motorized or not. Its obvious you don’t get, like you previously said. At the very least, its just being nice through a gesture. For someone who “doesn’t get it” you’re looking too far into it.
It's an individual thing. Sometimes, HD guys don't even wave at my HD and don't even STS at gas stations. Of course, it IS a fat bob and a lot of HD guys don't recognize it, even when standing in my garage. Today, on my busa, most HD guys and everyone was waving. It was about 105 degrees out, so I guess we all felt the comraderie? .
I am a first generation Harley rider. I bought one as my first bike. One hundred thousand miles later my local Harley dealer is losing sight of their customers and with the new generation of Harleys in 2024 being so ugly and unreliable I have decided to buy a Yamaha Tenere for a second bike.
I live in Iowa and ride a Triumph Trophy 1200. I've never not waved (or not been waved at by) any rider, be it a sport bike, Harley, cruiser, sport tourer, Gold Wing, Grom, anything. No hate to or from any rider. We're all riders.
I've owned many metric bikes and loved them all. There is plenty of technology in the newer bikes but I prefer simple since I work on my own bike. It's comfortable for the distance I ride which is what they're meant to do and easier to get parts for it.
I'm a road king rider and love it. One stereotype not mentioned is the tendency of some groups to ride side by side. It's usually the guys with no gear. I can't think of anything more stupid. I have decided not to wave at those guys for perpetuating stupidity. I'll bet the folks who died in NH a few years ago were doing this, but I don't know for sure. No escape from a distracted driver.
I have a few rides in the stable, 1 big HD, as well as Kawasaki and Yamaha. I do notice that I get less waves from HD riders if im not on my HD. I try not to take offense, as Ive missed giving a wave; either due to not seeing them in time (divided interstate, curves, etc) or I was busy negotiating a pass or a turn and wanted both hands on the handlebars. I see any rider, no matter the brand, as a fellow human. I can respect any bike, even the old crappy ones. I once had a nice conversation with a guy on a Honda Super Cub at a stop sign. It was his transportation and worked for him.
What they need to understand is that not everyone is looking to go as fast as possible. Some people ride to enjoy the ride. I'm perfectly fine not going over 100. But it seems that's all the sport bike riders are concerned with. I don't care what you're riding (well, maybe a Can Am ) Just kidding, I owned 2. Point being, I wave at everyone and treat everyone with respect and I expect the same in return. Ride your own ride and don't worry about what everyone else is doing. How does it affect anyone but me if I'm not wearing "the proper gear?"
I’ve been riding over 45 years. I started on a Honda CB400T. But back when I got my first Harley, I opened myself up to a new family and never regretted it! A friend of mine just bought a Road Glide and the first thing I told him is that he needs a set of Leathers if he plans on riding year round. He’s down in Port Charlotte, FL. I know that we only get one month of winter here in FL, but given the wind chill it can be a cold ride… On my Ultra Limited I use that one for long distances or when it’s going to be raining. The longest that I have rode in one day was 1300 miles (I’ll not ride that in one shot again LOL). My Road glide is for dry summer weather and short rides… Yes I do have the Bar & Shield tattoo. I have some Harley clothes, although my leathers are non branded, I spent more on my cut than my jacket. I try to attent the rides here in Pinellas & Pasco counties. I ride with the Suncoast Brotherhood we’re a MRO and not a MC, and every December we have a toy ride that we make sure that the kids here in Pinellas foster care have a great Christmas. About 15 years ago, I stopped into a burger joint for lunch. I was standing there wearing my vest or cut. When in walked some guy that came up to me grabbed me and gave me a big hug! I was in shock, when he said, “I want to thank you, I was in the Pinellas foster care and every year you guys made sure that I had a great Christmas.” That has stuck with me all these years. Ride safe cagers are aiming for us. Shinny side up, rubber side down.
My first bike. I didn't have a windshield until like two months before I got into wreck. I did have ride for almost 600 miles without a windshield, cruise or a radio. I bought my jacket way before I got the bike. Now I have a bike with a windshield, cruise and a radio.
Harley-Davidson is definitely in a category of their own, everybody that owns a motorcycle recognizes a Harley from the distance, the sound, the style, the look.
And then you have to assume the look, and heaven forbid a helmet. Because it is all about how cool do I look? Not to with your damn brains running out of your head.
The other day I was getting ready to leave a parking lot and I heard a kid saying “dad! Look! That’s a nice bike!!!”, followed by full of attitude “I like fast Japanese ones” in a crappy tone. I could see the kid got totally shut down by that. Man wtf?… your kid is exited about something and wanna share it with you; and you shut him down just to express your dislike to a random dude you don’t know. I don’t understand that bs. I don’t think it was too hard to say “yeah! Cool! And some day I’ll show you a fast Japanese bike that are even better”. I don’t care what that dude thinks of me or my bike or anything, but I felt bad for the kid.
I ride a 2023 Heritage Classic because I love the old school look and feel of the bike. I did not want a bunch of tech. My first Harley was a Street Bob but found it was too uncomfortable after 45 minutes of ridding. I live in Houston Texas where it's an hour and a half ride or longer from one side of the city to the other. I also owned a Kawasaki Vulcan 650s for a while. I believe 2 wheels is 2 wheels. I wave at all riders and do not own any Harley swag. I do not fall into the stereo types. I think people should do what makes them happy. I don't want people judging me so I don't judge others. Hell I would love to have a sport bike as a second bike. I just don't trust myself because I'm batshit crazy and love to push the envelop.
Regarding summer protective gear to cover the arms, you may have a look at the Knox Urbane pro riding shirts. These are abbrasion resistant with lots of mesh! nice video btw! Best wishes from germany
I was debating with myself right up to the end of the video whether this is satire or a piss-take. Still not sure. One thing I can say about users of this brand is that they sure as s*** can't shut the f*** up about having a Harley. You know what they say about the biggest t-shirt company that also sells bikes? There's more truth in that than you'd like to admit. It's an accessory. It's a "must-have", like a Prada bag, Manolo Blahnik shoes, Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses that women buy, but for men. A type of item where you have to bore the ever-living crap out of anyone who isn't already a member of the cult with rationalisations and justifications of paying stupid amounts of money for very little of a bike. You have to invoke immaterial or imaginary "qualities" like heritage, history, tradition, the je-ne-sais-quoi, the chic, the mystique, as they would say in fashion. You have to tell tales about them still being made using the olden day production methods, being hand-made, hand-fitted, hand-polished. You have to claim that there's something that other brands "just can't match", without being able to describe it. You have to drink the Kool-Aid and believe that owning this fashion item makes you a true man, an individualist, a rebel, a true salt-of-the-earth, gun owning, bible-quoting 'murican free spirit, and the envy of all the world. You have to make sure EVERYONE knows you ride a Harley, even when you're not (so make sure to buy a lot of branded gear), and even when they can't see you at all (mount a loud exhaust on it so you sound like an AA gun firing). And you have to say dumb stuff like "if you don't ride it, you don't understand". Oh, I DO understand - which is precisely why I don't ride it. I wouldn't say I hate Harley riders. I'd rather say I struggle to take them seriously. It's just childish, like children dressing up as firemen or cowboys. It's privileged people entangled in a web of obligations cosplaying as freedom-loving independent rebels, when they get some free time from mowing their lawn as ordered by their HOA. Lawyers, dentists, bankers, who start growing out a bit of a stubble to look right in time for Sturgis. Paying too much for a bike just to pay even more to customise it because it isn't up to scratch out of the factory. And then laugh over people who ride stock Harleys. People who ride just in order to park next to others who rode just to park there. With a sports or a naked bike, you don't have to talk about it. You don't have to take all the baggage with you to make it make sense. When you see it, you know what it's for and what it's about, and why you would want to ride it. It goes like hell, it brakes to rip your face off, it handles better than you'll dare to use. No talk. Ride. Ironically, the people that are responsible for Harley's image, and whom Harley riders try to emulate, would certainly ride anything but a Harley today. They were war veterans who bought their old military bikes for very little money. They rode them because they had nothing else. They rode without proper gear because it was expensive. They were rebels because they were f***d up by the war and lost connection to normal society. They customised their bikes because they were old and crap and falling apart, and they couldn't afford genuine replacement parts. They had that "style" because that was all that those old crappy bikes had to offer. The iconic Harley rider in our time wouldn't be able to afford a fashion luxury item, they would ride a ratty old used bike.
If you're looking for gear to wear in hot weather, a 'made in the USA' Motosport kevlar shirt with optional padding is the ticket. Designed for motorcycle police units, the basic shirt is cooler than a typical cotton duty shirt, but offers real protection from road rash.
Hi Harley, I cannot ride it more than 100 miles because it just vibrates so bad that I just can’t go any further. If you wanna take a long ride I say get a gold wing.
Great video, I own both Honda Goldwing and Harley, no comparison to the limits and events Harley has over Honda, I have always own both for years, because the Harley is definitely going to get you more noticed for around town riding, however, when I put that Goldwing and pull behind trailer on the highway, it turn heads, I love having the best of both worlds, 24 RG Whiskey Fire, 18 Stallion Brown Goldwing, Blessed!
Great video! I know when I had my Honda a lot of people wouldn’t give me the time of day. After I got my first Harley those same people talked to me all the time.
Those aren't the people you want to be talking with anyway. I spend a little time drinking with a couple Hells Angels, they never once gave me shit for riding a sport bike. Even offered me to take his lowered road king around the block. I absolutely declined that offer. Long story short, I now own a 2024 Roadglide and I don't plan on being a Harley snob.
@SmittyAZ you sound like a Harley snob- lol- harley posters in your garage, harley key chain, harley shirts, harley coffee cup, asking guys, " when are you going to get a real bike?
@@R.e.s.p.e.K If you get bored, read my earlier posts. My HD is one of 12 bikes in the garage, and it's the only HD. My comment was for the A-Holes, that say, "Now that you have a HD, we'll let you ride with us".
The only apparel I wear is leather jacket, helmet, gloves when have to. Been riding over 40 years and the only other apparel I use is a rain suit and that's ONLY when I get caught in it. I ride an EG and love the faring, doesn't take away from the ride
I ride a 2018 Softail Deluxe. For decades, I've been wearing Harley-Davidson dealership t-shirts. However, when you said that your leather s have to have some kind of Harley branding on it come out well I have to respectfully disagree with that. I have a super thick black leather jacket. I ride and a custom leather vest made by the same company that did the sons of anarchy and Mayans wardrobe. The label doesn't make the biker. I thought your leathers look pretty cool and I never saw any labels on it until you mentioned that I had to have Harley branding on it and I saw the Willy G skull on the back. It's the attitude and style that makes a biker.
I love my shadow vt1100 as much as Harley guys love their bikes. I think my biggest dislike about Harley is lack of innovation for the price. The price tag to then take it in a shop as opposed to ease of self maintenance with Japanese bikes. I do love the look of the softail stander, that's a cool looking bike.
My one and only HD is '23 fat bob and it's 'just' one out of 12 bikes in my garage. They're MY bikes so I can say that it's no better than my BMW, KTM, busas, etc. It's fun to ride, but so are my other bikes. It's my only cruiser and it's the best for doing that. I bought it as a bar-hopper. I dress the same, no matter what. I hope that I don't fit into any category, but ride what you want / can afford. Until Insurance and Registration, then I hate them all.
A fairing protects the rider and the machine, it also makes you less tired less distracted and fresher when riding and of course, more protected. This makes a rider safer on the road, a bigger bonus, if fact the best effect you could want.
About 45 years back ,an aquanaut I knew,he came of a kwaka in board shorts,he spent 6 months in hospital with skin grafts, and never road a motorcycle again
Great video. I ride a triumph Bonneville 1200 speedmaster it handles really well and I am very happy with it I was considering a 883 although I still have a soft spot for the Harley and love the sound of them (although the Bonneville sounds great as well) I have a lot of respect for you Harley riders and have not met a bad one yet . Anyway stay safe and good luck
I used to be in the sportbike crowd. Pretentious snobs. Been in the Harley community for 3 years now. Most welcoming, chill group of people. Way more fun on a Harley
When i see videos of people riding sport bikes on the street going well over a hundred miles an hour, and just being fools i dont, won't be associated with that. Harley Davidson and Harley riding community is where i belong.
I have been around all types of folks on bikes. I like most and have fun. The ones I dislike are the wannabe "Biker" types. I have zero tolerance for elitists type people,( Yes I am looking at you BMW folks. lol) They are all simple to deal with though, Just don't pay them any mind, and move on. I ride for the ride, not the image.
Ahh, no fairing bikes, back when men were men!! Just kidding, I LOVE my fairing!! Allows us to enjoy the ride for much, much longer!! Good content Brother!
'79 Sportster with sidecar, and yeah it's cool and sounds good. Don't need to go 150 mph. I don't have a fairing. May get a windshield. You might see somebody riding naked at Buffalo Chip. I wave to everybody on 2 wheels.
I want the carbon kevlar padded stuff , i just dont like leather . Harley has stuff like what i want , that leather stuff is sooo over played ,,,,some guys think a leather vest makez them tough and allowed to talk loud after a couple drinks lol
I am liking your videos. Thank yo for taking the time to do them. I have been riding for 46 years (still learning). I have passed all kinds of riders who give a wave, and all kinds that don't. I am also sure I have missed quite a few waves myself, looking further ahead, or thinking about something else. So I give most guys/gals the benefit of the doubt. I don't ride a Harley, and it is because of the one thing that I hate about Harleys. I simply can't afford one. Maybe someday...
Number 8 drinking and riding. Gets a lot of them killed too. Guy was showing me his bike at the dealer Memorial day weekend where they had a live band and free beer. I said to him I don't drink and ride and he said me too while holding a beer Bar parking lot on the way to the jersey shore was full of bikes today while the Phillies were playing in England
WIND FATIQUE, (resulting in less control) From lack of protective clothing and a windscreen, is Another reason why blocking the wind is a good thing. (Some)Fairing designs block wind from your hands, thus preventing fatigue, allowing a full days riding.
When l go to a HD party with my Triumph Tr-6 with a hard tail and magneto or my URAL side car outfit everybody tells me that I have the coolest bike there.l have had my Sportster for 25 years now. I wave to everyone on 2or 3 wheels. I don't care if their HD costs more than my house 🏠. I am not impressed by that. Most HD guys tell me I am on the wrong kind of Harley. I just ignore them. Ride safe whatever you ride!
I'm 76 and have not been on a motorcycle in over 50 years. Never had a motorcycle endorsement. If I were to start riding, the first $2,000 I would spend, would be for an armored jacket, pants, boots, gloves and helmet; BEFORE I even enroll in a MS class or look at a bike to buy. Whether I start on a big H-D or a YZ125, proper attire comes first!
Not All Totally True 🤔 Like You said , It's just Your Opinion . Yes I Ride Harley Davidson and Still Ride with other Brothers and Sisters that Ride What fits Their Size in Stature . And as Biker We All fall into the Same Family of Bikers... 👍 When It Comes Down to It , it's All About Riding a Motorcycle and Feeling The Freedom of It All... 😎👍
The only times I bought Harley apparrel was when it went on sale or clearance. I never needed to wear Harley stuff. I have a non-Harley leather jacket that is just as good as, but less than half the price of the Harley gear.
Wearing chaps on a ride is acceptable riding gear.... it's the grown men and women walking around shows or rally's in full costume instead of leaving all that in your saddlebags and walking like a regular person. Theiry're the vegan, athiest, crossfitter of the motorcycle world and are seeking attention. They care more about how they think they look and are perceived by others as legitimate to the scene while being a poser and fraud the entire time
Leather DOES NOT keep you warm when riding in cold weather...it actually conducts the cold, so with no warm lining you'll freeze your ass, but it does block the wind so if you have warm clothing on under it you should stay comfortable...and I don't know what Harley Davidson motorcycles you're looking at but they absolutely have NOT lowered the prices on their bikes!! As a matter of fact most of them have gone up in price!!
There are way better materials then leather. While leather still works kevlar is a much better material. Hip and knee protection in kevlar jeans are fantastic and with flex zones are much more comfy . ODIN MFG make amazing rain gear pants and jackets . There is something for everyone. I personally don't want to roll like my 65 year old family member in a leather jacket and assless chaps. To each their own. Be safe and keep an open mind to modern choices. HELL YA BROTHER!!!!!!
I have ridden a variety of cruisers over the years including Yamaha Stryker (great bike). Currently ride Harley FXDWG. Chaps never look cool. They also serve no purpose if you go for a slide on your ar5e. Your levi jeans would be gone in seconds then your butt cheeks. If you are going to suit up wear motorcycle jeans. As for harley branded leather jackets they make you look like a douche. There are better quality, more protective leathers out there for half the price.
Kills me how they hate scooters, yet every time I see a Harley with eclosed handlebars and a windshield I think they have finally figured out what scooters riders have known for decades. Wind protection.
Not they...some. I don't care what type of two wheels you're on. As long as your knees in the breeze, we are enjoying the same freedom of the ride...I'll always give ya two fingers down
Not against wearing a dealership/rally tee shirt. I’d never wear the skulled out Willie G stuff. Those are the riders that nonHD riders avoid and laugh at.
Given how many harley riders I've seen duckwalking and struggling just to stay up at a light, they really need to keep their opinions to themselves. what bothers me most about harley is they don't have any small displacement/low power bikes that are cheap enough for the young people today. They also need to do something about the weight.
I've been riding for 50 years, lots of brands over the years but Harley's get in your blood, I'm on my 3rd. Cant agree about the genuine Harley apparel as it far to over priced and aftermarket gear is just as good if not better in many cases.
What people don't realize is most of us Harley drivers owned crotch rockets and a VMAX or two. (Some have a Gen 1 Busa in the garage). Some have raced...you never know who loves the rumble. Don't judge a book by its cover squidwards
My furst bike is a honda fury aint gunna regret it. However now im ready for my Harley. Maybe a year or 2 and im ready for that big note with the exsesory insurance!!!! Woohoo. Im going to service department shop for the next year and see who is honest and polite and dont rip people off. Thats one thing I found out none of them are your friends after you buy the bike. They treat you like crap. So its going be undercover service department hangouts for the next year or so. Over 50k plus ... You best believe

In my country most of Harley Riders/Harley Owners are very arrogant and too proud that they don’t look at any other riders especially to those who ride small moped. Reason is that Harley Owner in my country are mostly they who have money/rich because the price of Harley are so expensive.. My own experience when come across them, that they don’t even smile at you even ignore you when uou try to talk to them..
YES !! Harley Davidson riders Dose Not wear reasonable protective gear. A guy or gal riding a bike with short and Flip Flops makes them look like a bunch of Dum Asses. I confess I have in past been guilty. 😢
I think it’s funny how people always say it’s the Harley guys that don’t wave. I have only ever ridden a Harley and I have had every type of bike not wave at me. The worst have been crotch rockets.
There is a grain of truth in this stereotype though (that's why it IS a stereotype, heheh). At least I can confirm after many years of riding. If the dude is not glancing at me quickly or greeting at a light stop, it is always HD rider. Not all of them ofc, it's even small percentage, but still the only ones too cool to greet other rider are HD owners. I guess I am underdog to them, on my old used Japanese beater ;) On the other hand, I have been surprised by occasional high five or fist-bump from stranger biker for totally no reason :) probably someone was having a great day or something and could not restrain himself :) that made me smile too. And guess what? It was never HD.
Ive been riding for 4yrs,but not a harley they are just too expensive.ive always found Harley guys pretty chill, and just love riding, and talking about bikes. However, some sportbike riders driver me nuts lol
U won’t believe this, I once road Hondas now Harleys. So I go by the Honda dealer n ask if they change tires on Harleys. Why yes we do n they were 50 bucks cheaper for a rear tire change out than the Harley dealer. 😅
The thing I cannot stand is the Harley fan bois resort to name calling when you ride something other than a Harley. I moved from Harley to Indian and I just laugh at the names I have been called on FB groups. It’s pretty sad. I assume it is the ones that ride 500 miles a year are the biggest talkers.
In my experience, 'hate' is usually due to an underlying thing....in the case of all the Harley haters it's usually, in my opinion, jealousy. Perhaps because we can afford the more expensive bikes and gear. NONE of the things you listed are exclusive to Harley riders except the Harley gear.
Funny thing is, the negativity towards other riders and their bikes ALWAYS comes from people that don’t ride Harleys who spit vitriol at those who do! I just don’t understand it, if people want to buy a Harley then maybe, just maybe it’s because they like the bike. I’ve also seen people criticising Harley riders because they wear leather! How idiotic is that? The Leather is worn to protect in case of a spill, then they get criticised when they wear T-Shirts but it’s okay for Sportbike riders to wear one piece race suits meant for track riding and ride on public roads like they’re racing the TT putting their own and other peoples lives at risk. So I have to ask: who is the real problem here?
4:41 So true!!!! I just bought a road king and sent me directly to the appeal department before anything. that happed completely. Plus they give you t-shirt

That sucks! I ride a Harley and wave and nod at all 2 wheels gives the rest of us a bad name
It was about 105 degrees out, so I guess we all felt the comraderie? .
@@mikey8946 I wave at cars when they DON'T pull out on me, when I expect them to.
Look Cool ?? You look like the Black Widow’s…right turn Clyde !! 🤣🤣🤣
Been riding for 50 years , Owned a 100+ bikes , Live to Ride !! Bless AZ
I know that we only get one month of winter here in FL, but given the wind chill it can be a cold ride…
On my Ultra Limited I use that one for long distances or when it’s going to be raining.
The feel...
The fluid leaks
That Chop chop of a big fkn cam on a big motor
A bike that can sound like a BIG BLOK CHEBBY at WOT with the right combo (motor cam pipe )
And then you have to assume the look, and heaven forbid a helmet. Because it is all about how cool do I look? Not to with your damn brains running out of your head.
I am more than happy with my Indian’s Thunderstroke 111. Runs smoother snd handles better than any HD I’ve ridden.
Fjr1300 and Sportster for me here in Houston. Depends on where I'm going as to what I take. But the fjr... is far better on the freeway
Regarding summer protective gear to cover the arms, you may have a look at the Knox Urbane pro riding shirts. These are abbrasion resistant with lots of mesh! nice video btw! Best wishes from germany
Thanks brother
Along with their pants, they are custom tailored by Motosport to your exact measurements. I'm saving for a set right now.
Hi Harley, I cannot ride it more than 100 miles because it just vibrates so bad that I just can’t go any further. If you wanna take a long ride I say get a gold wing.
You haven’t rode a Harley in a while huh? Since like the 1970’s
Or he’s been on some jacked up bikes. Been riding them since 2011. They are smooth as silk on the highway.
You mean the, now that you got a HD, you can ride with us types?
@@SmittyAZ who is your question aimed at ?
@SmittyAZ you sound like a Harley snob- lol- harley posters in your garage, harley key chain, harley shirts, harley coffee cup, asking guys, " when are you going to get a real bike?
@@R.e.s.p.e.K If you get bored, read my earlier posts. My HD is one of 12 bikes in the garage, and it's the only HD.
My comment was for the A-Holes, that say, "Now that you have a HD, we'll let you ride with us".
It’s buffeting, not buffering. Sorry, one of my pet peeves.
True!
Haven’t you got bigger thing’s to worry about 😂.
I bought an Indian specifically because I didn't want to associate with or be the typical "Harley guy".
Interesting! Thou I am a first time Harley rider. I have a 2023 Fat Boy. Rode Japanese bikes for years before hand. It is very different for sure.
A fairing protects the rider and the machine, it also makes you less tired less distracted and fresher when riding and of course, more protected. This makes a rider safer on the road, a bigger bonus, if fact the best effect you could want.
Started riding in ‘72 on HDs. My T-shirts can be measured in feet. Places I have been , shops visited etc.
Just a damn shame they are such snobs.
Harley riders idea of a ride is bar hopping!!
@@Glen-n7u the bar could be five hundred miles away...
I doubt it … When Covid hit and everything was closed, they looked confused they actually had to ride the Harley !! 🤣🤣

The only thing like a leather jacket I have found for summer temps is a denim jacket equipt with pads.
Hate wind? Not. Bugs on the other hand....
'79 Sportster with sidecar, and yeah it's cool and sounds good. Don't need to go 150 mph.
I don't have a fairing. May get a windshield.
You might see somebody riding naked at Buffalo Chip.
I wave to everybody on 2 wheels.
Try getting lake Erie mist up your nose because the waves are so high, fighting a crosswind.
I said to him I don't drink and ride and he said me too while holding a beer
Bar parking lot on the way to the jersey shore was full of bikes today while the Phillies were playing in England
He meant that he drinks before riding. He wasn't lying.
WIND FATIQUE, (resulting in less control) From lack of protective clothing and a windscreen, is Another reason why blocking the wind is a good thing.
(Some)Fairing designs block wind from your hands, thus preventing fatigue, allowing a full days riding.
You say Harley make good tourers
Compared to what exactly
I have a 23 road glide limited and2 Yamaha
When l go to a HD party with my Triumph Tr-6 with a hard tail and magneto or my URAL side car outfit everybody tells me that I have the coolest bike there.l have had my Sportster for 25 years now. I wave to everyone on 2or 3 wheels. I don't care if their HD costs more than my house 🏠. I am not impressed by that. Most HD guys tell me I am on the wrong kind of Harley. I just ignore them. Ride safe whatever you ride!
Chaps on a chilly day really help. Alot of times i dont wear insulated underwear if i wear my chaps.
You forgot the Harley underpants.
What did you mean they “hung their war trophies on the Harleys?”
I never heard that.
Chaps look ridiculous on grown men ! A cross between Private Dancer and Madonna !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
4:57 and your budget doubles! Lol
Kills me how they hate scooters, yet every time I see a Harley with eclosed handlebars and a windshield I think they have finally figured out what scooters riders have known for decades. Wind protection.
Not they...some. I don't care what type of two wheels you're on. As long as your knees in the breeze, we are enjoying the same freedom of the ride...I'll always give ya two fingers down
I own Harley and a scooter, and I don’t give a toss what people think, but I do care what they say.
Harley riders aren't hated. They are just arrogant
Not against wearing a dealership/rally tee shirt. I’d never wear the skulled out Willie G stuff. Those are the riders that nonHD riders avoid and laugh at.
The only people that make a fun of gear are people that don’t ride or people that haven’t crashed yet
That GIANT cup holder...Jesus..
And what is your problem with it, Jesus? You're too cool to stay hydrated?
That is so very TRUE!!!!!
The other day I was getting ready to leave a parking lot and I heard a kid saying “dad! Look! That’s a nice bike!!!”, followed by full of attitude “I like fast Japanese ones”. Man wtf?… shutting down your own kid just to express your dislike to a random dude you don’t know. I don’t understand that bs. I don’t think it was too hard to say “yeah! Cool!
Not really about Harley riders being hated. Maybe better to do video on why Harley delers are hated.
I think it’s funny how people always say it’s the Harley guys that don’t wave. I have only ever ridden a Harley and I have had every type of bike not wave at me. The worst have been crotch rockets.
And some don't wave for other reasons.
I guess I am underdog to them, on my old used Japanese beater ;)
On the other hand, I have been surprised by occasional high five or fist-bump from stranger biker for totally no reason :) probably someone was having a great day or something and could not restrain himself :) that made me smile too. And guess what? It was never HD.
I ride a 2006 Honda VTX 1800 but my dream bike is a road king.
Harley builds a nice bike.. Honda (and others) builds some nice bikes. My issue with Harley isn't the riders, it's the cost of the bike and up keep.
28 year Sportster n doing great im 78 year’s young. It will do all the speed limits 😊
This is a non-issue because Harleys and their riders are irrelevant to me
Harley guys can’t not try to race my gsxs750 from one stoplight to the next.
Like bro I’m just chillin
Ive been riding for 4yrs,but not a harley they are just too expensive.ive always found Harley guys pretty chill, and just love riding, and talking about bikes. However, some sportbike riders driver me nuts lol
Harley riders WANT to be hated.
Hey Mom look at me!!!
😅😂😈
U won’t believe this, I once road Hondas now Harleys. So I go by the Honda dealer n ask if they change tires on Harleys. Why yes we do n they were 50 bucks cheaper for a rear tire change out than the Harley dealer. 😅
The thing I cannot stand is the Harley fan bois resort to name calling when you ride something other than a Harley. I moved from Harley to Indian and I just laugh at the names I have been called on FB groups. It’s pretty sad. I assume it is the ones that ride 500 miles a year are the biggest talkers.
Duces down BrotttthhhheRRRR! 🤘😂🤘😂🤘😂
In my experience, 'hate' is usually due to an underlying thing....in the case of all the Harley haters it's usually, in my opinion, jealousy. Perhaps because we can afford the more expensive bikes and gear. NONE of the things you listed are exclusive to Harley riders except the Harley gear.
... "Today I'm just riding a Honda/But I'll buy a Harley someday!" ...
So help us God!
I dont always wear a helmet. But I do wear gloves, pants or jeans and sometimes a jacket.
Not hated - laughed at
Funny thing is, the negativity towards other riders and their bikes ALWAYS comes from people that don’t ride Harleys who spit vitriol at those who do!
I hate when Harley rider tell me I am not a real biker because I am not riding a 1
Reminds me of the South Park episode
South Park, South Park, South Park.
4:41 So true!!!! I just bought a road king and sent me directly to the appeal department before anything. that happed completely. Plus they give you t-shirt
