Thank you for these awesome tips! Question : how do you sell or get rid of your older ships? I don’t want to collect a fleet of obsolete, un-used ships once i upgrade.. it there any way to salvage it for parts to help make a new and better ship?

You can strip the weapons and armor and use on any ship, no need to get rid of any, they may seem obsolete but you can rank them all up and there isn’t that many anyway.

I don’t recommend just having different weapons just in case it’s easy to just port and build your ship to the task at hand it’ll make your life that much easier.

You can turn that annoying mini-game off by going into settings and turning OFF the auto collect. You then just sit there while the crew works to gather items.

It’s slower and it says you don’t collect “as much” but not sure how much less of it really matters

I really dont want to sound like a hater.. but there is so much just wrong with this video. And the rest is basically explained in the tutorial / early missions.
    - Ressources are a non issue. Everything is cheap to the point of being given out for free. Dont go around painfully collecting ressources. Forget this mechanic exists after the toturial, you will swim in ressources anyways. A single plunder gives you ressources (of that one type) enough for 2-3 medium ships at once. Or one completely specced out in BiS gear. A single plunder.
    - I agree that you shouldnt sell ressources, despite literally being showered in them. The reason is that silver is even more of a non-issue than ressources to begin with. Of course you *should* sell commodities tho, they are literally for selling. You can, but certainly dont have to, pay attention to what's in demand to maximize profits. Green arrow good, red arrow bad Quite substantially even. Then again.. silver.. kinda pointless. I literally just sold everything in saint anne.
    - Different cannons on each side of your ship is a horrible idea. You can diversity a bit. But as long as you have *something* for short and long range (note long range can be used in short range aswell), you are good on that front. Can all be the same weapons. I personally enjoy bombards, but long cannons are also fun. Cooldown is less of an issue if you can usually swivel your ship around a bit to alternatingly shoot from 2-3 sides of your ship. What you should absolutely diversity is what the weapons do, effect wise. Having "tearing" weapons at the front or back is really helpful when chasing or being chased, while your broadside should just do as much damage as possible.
    - On that note, for most parts of the game you are in no position to chose (specifically) which of the 4 sides you fight an enemy with. You either chase, are chased yourself, or do plunders in a small area. When you chase, your primary cannon is the front cannons. When you are chased, your primary cannons are the back cannons. In both cases you iseally want to be faster than the enemy. This either allows you to catch up, get away, or turn your extra speed into being able to swivel, allowing you to alternatingly shoot with 3 sides of your ship instead of just one. And again, tearing weapons help you achieve that! For plunders you usually sit in one location and just turn your ship to maximize dps towards incoming enemies (if you can afford to, ie low/mid content), or you drive slow circles.
    - I would actually recommend sticking with the 300% acceleration furniture you get in the beginning until you know what you are doing. This allows you to come to a stand still and still get away when large red circles appear below you. Which is invaluable for when enemies start dealing some serious damage. If you are always on the move, namely also while shooting at turrets and doing plunders, you can swap it out sooner.
    - I see sooo many people suggesting to rise the ship level, but im still not even sure what that does. Pretty sure it's just a powerrank? So i wouldnt go out of my way just to increase it, and rather view it as an indicator for what type of enemies you can likely take on. If there is some hidden power linked to than value that i missed, id be glad if people corrected me here.
    Also, freundliche deutsche Grüße!^^

All of these tips were just generic game tips that can be said about most survival/action games. The only Skull and Bones specific tip you gave was how to pick the proper weapon loadout for your ship. Which was just not correct. If you try floating around to each mission with 1 of each weapon "just in case", you're gonna get clapped quick.
Theres a reason each ship has different stats. They have different use cases. You build a ship for a specific use and then embark with that ship. If you're done, you swap ships for the next thing you need. Or at the very least, swap the loadout on that ship.

Which is a sentence that applies to all follow up games and even some entire genres.
So by that logic i hope you dont, ever, play any of the likes of fifa, call of duty, battlefield, assassins creed, anno, .. pretty much every mmorpg ever, .. you get the idea.
S&B is fun. If you disagree, did you really just come to this video to shittalk it? Why on earth does a game you dont even like have such a tight grip on your life lmao.
