I met Linda a couple times at drag races. One time, got tied up in traffic leaving the track, talked to her then. She was in a 77 Hurst Cutlass, classy down to earth lady.
The lime-green Dodge in the thumbnail looks like a '69 to me... My fave car of all time is the 1968 Charger. Loved it since it came out when I was a child.
Anything 70’s was the real deal . Just about , everything about , the 70’s was the best part of my life to ever live . These movies , the ladies starring in them . The gas price’s and everyday NORMAL life fun . Now 50 years later at 56 years old. It’s all getting further and further away from me, with only memories and UA-cam , to visually enjoy a time in life everybody born in or before . Enjoyed and wish was here now ✌️N❤️2all
Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in the theater and when Corvette Summer came out I just couldn't wrap my head around Luke Skywalker being in the normal world. I never saw that movie until 2023.
Movie kinda sucked (Corvette Summer). But I saw it on TV when I was a kid. I was a late '70s-early '80s Corvette NUT!!! So I thought this was the best movie EVER. I MEAN you have Luke Skywalker in a custom 'Vette!!!! I'd talk about the movie with people in the '80s and NOBODY had EVER heard of it. I watched it again sometime in the "90s, as an adult, and saw it for what it REALLY was: pretty corny/bad. Watched again on UA-cam a few months ago, that car is hideous! What caught me on your comment was it being the first movie you saw in a theater. ME TOO! I had seen movies at the drive-in but watched Star Wars in a walk-in theater in Baker Oregon. I was so dumb I thought they were going to actually act it out like a play! Didn't know what it was, I was like 5 years old. I only knew Star Wars from the toys I'd seen.
Blows my mind how Sally Fields, from my earliest memories, was a hottie, and then to see her on a miniseries about the LA Lakers, as an accentric, grandma, co-owner, And realizing that she is legitimately old enough for that part. Father Time comes from a long line of bachelors
This list without Catherine Bach of 'Dukes of Hazzard', is not complete. Otherwise, a fun reminder of when Hollywood car chases were constantly trying to top each other. Thanks!
It's not seen very much, but the Bandit Trans Am is different between Smokey and the Bandit and the sequel. A coworker of mine recently obtained a black Trans Am clone of the Bandit car. He was trying to find a correct CB antenna for the car. The correct one for his car is a base load design and the other car had a Firestick on the trunk lid. I recently received an old truck with a base load antenna almost falling from the roof. Now the Trans Am is correct.
The second movie used a 1980 Turbo Trans Am, which was the last "facelift" before the full redesign of 1982. Big difference in engine as well (Olds 403/4.9 L) even with the turbo, it could barely get out of it's own way....lol.
What?! No footage of me driving my dads 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ 428 HO saying , ‘wow this thing really could go 130 quickly and for a long time! Wheeeeee’
Farrah Fawcett made those Mustangs sell. She never signed her contract to do Charlie's Angel's. So that's why she did other work after breaking out that first year.
Cheers. It goes by as close as can be to involvement, how important to a car chase and movie/show was the character chosen. If they partook in the chase or were a main character to the story. Did they get their own vehicle and chase scene. Was the movie they were in a chase movie or were they in a chase scene. How known is their character within the car chase genre. Example, had Lynday Carter actually gotten her own muscle car and chase where her character drove, and due to being one of the most famously attractive women of the 70s, she most likely would have taken the number 1 spot. Had Farrah done a proper car chase within the show, she would have ranked higher. Same with Mary from DMCL if she actually drove one of the main cars, she would have ranked higher too. Its not easy to chose the slots as they often change over the course of creating these videos when more info is gathered and some new entries are remembered and replaced.
@@MFPMapFilmProductions Wow, that's one heck of a worksheet. I'm glad you decided to undertake this and not me. Again, damn fine video thank you for taking the time to make it and also explain the metrics.
did you say the 1973 Dodge Polara got a 440 Super Commando now a Super Commando is a Plymouth 440 and Dodge had it call Magnum for it single carb 4barrel Mopar Big Block V8 from 1968-1971
After rechecking notes taken, you are correct. Come around 1973, usage began to drop of the names Magnum and Super Commando and had began referring them simply as a 440 engine option available as the high HP output of the late 60s had dropped come the mid 70s. Though both the Magnum and Super Commando were basically the same engine, they were marketed differently between Dodge and Plymouth. During research there were those who would refer to their police package as 440 "Super Commando" as opposed to Magnum. Editing is now underway to remove this reference. Thank you for your input.
Unfortunately, #3 never drove the car and she was only involved in one small chase. Trust me, I was looking for more reasons to place her in the #1 spot.
This was not solely based on looks. One of the biggest criteriers considered was how much involvement took place by these ladies with the car chases within the movie. Had Lynda actually gotten behind the wheel and was chased or gave chase, she would have been in the #1 spot.
The Gumball Rally also included another iconic car girl of the era as a supporting character: none other than Miss Linda Vaughn :)

TRU DAT! 64 and still going strong... well sometimes! 🤣🤣🤣
the women of today cannot compare with the women of the 70s . they were natural no botox boob jobs etc
Fact!!!!!
2/3 of Americans are overweight or obese. That wasn't true in the 70s.
Brilliantly done ❤❤❤
Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in the theater and when Corvette Summer came out I just couldn't wrap my head around Luke Skywalker being in the normal world. I never saw that movie until 2023.

Nice. The dirtbike race in Cleopatra Jones (or the sequel? idk) was epic.
Love the videos, always makes me want to watch the movie referenced, big list this time

Wow! Really appreciate all the research that evidently went into this.
Daisy Duke. The queen of them all
You will find her listed in our "Hottest Car Ladies of the 80s" video. Enjoy.

Outstanding video,, Clear , concise , narration first rate with all facts about the subjects. I will look for more videos and sub I'm sure.
No Ali McGraw playing Melissa from the movie "Convoy"?
also was carol mccoy in the getaway with mcqueen.
Convoy was a Truck Movie
9:32 No one looks like Peter Fonda! So cool. (except Michael Sarrazin, fooled again)
Great list of films and ladies.

Being 14 in 1973, I thought Macenzie Phillips was too cute in American Grafitti.

Rad as always

Excellent compilation! I like your narration, please don't switch to a computer-generated voice!

I fucking LOVE Deathrace 2000. Not enough people know of its existence.
To my knowledge, there's no such thing as a 454 Cobra jet engine 🤔, 454 Cubic inch displacement was a Chevy Motor, any Car guy Could Tell you this !

How could you forget beautiful Isabelle Adjani from 1978 "The Driver"?? Also the "Gumball Girls" shoulda been #1 😉👍
If you like Cleopatra Jones, you'll love Cleopatra Schwartz.
Ha ha, KFM lol, Fistful of Yen is better.
Linda Carter is a top 10 lady, period!
Yep, had she actually driven the car and been in a chase, she would have taken the number 1 spot.
I think someone’s knocking on the door 😁😁😁😁
Oh yes the bush years
11:05 Isn't Duel Spielberg's first movie? It came out in 1971. (Googleing... Ok, it was a made-for-TV movie)
Yes, it was made for tv here but released theatrically in Europe where it became a hit. Sugarland was his first domestic film
When there was no woke BS
Good lord
Just go away
The 70 Mustang would have had a 428 Cobra jet, Chevy had the 454
