Dude it's a world class track and they run a 12hrs of Bathurst endurance race there and they start in the dark. I don't know the exact time it's like 4:00 AM and they start the race in the dark and you watch the sun come up it's wild. The races are on youtube and it's wild to watch them race the mountain at night.
I think it’s around 161 laps he had it written on the board that he had the drawing of the with the information at the end of the video and the 6.23 kilometers per lap, 6.23 x161 = 1000 kilometers
Spencer. One day you will get to go to Bathurst and you will get the chance to walk around the track. It will blow your mind and and and . . .blow your mind. Its a great experience.
You really need to watch the full unedited video, not sure if it was you cutting large chunks out or just a bad cut up video you watched, but it explained a lot of your questions.
The change the disc and pad, they've developed a clip system that takes out the strain of trying to pry swolled pads. Good teams can finish before the fuel.
Also you probably might, know, it's a public road, you can drive/ride this when there isn't racing, the full circuit. And even at a speed limit of 50km per hr, still makes your anus pout.
161 laps, mind there has been variations on the finish, check out the Jim Richards win in the rain. Best reaction to an ornery crowd. And hell yeah I've been, my family's from Bathurst and I only live an hour away. Do a lap every visit.
1000 km = 161 laps, around 6 hours. They swap disks and brake pads at the same time. Takes about 30 seconds. It takes a similar time to refuel (fuel flow is limited for safety so it doesn't gush out and cause a fire). Pit stops aren't delayed by it.
Interesting side note wasn't the Ford gt40 the first to swap out the intire brake system from the hub I think not 100% but its in the Ford vs Ferrari movie.
I drove my girlfriends GTR XUI on Mt Panorama back in 84. They're not as heavy with just a straight 6 and a set of triple SU side draft webers on it. Heaps of grunt for a small vehicle meant you could throw it around going up but coming down was hairy. The feed into conrod straight was the hairiest because you would be looking for cops with radar. I did two laps then headed home. We were visiting my GF's aunty at Blaney, just outside Bathurst so I borrowed her car while they talked girl shit. Not sure if you can still drive on it. Those were the days. Her car cost $8k 2nd hand back then, now they will go for $250k. I'm not a Holden guy, but I would love to take a Ford GT coupe for a dance down there. Also, the Bathurst 1000 is 161 laps.
NO SPOTTERS GUYS. ONLY THE DRIVER. 😊 its been a tradition amongst the spectators to follow the Holden Car or the Ford car drivers. Both the best drivers for years. Its a friendly rivalry, everyone watches it on tv or at least the highlights. Its a national event really. Hope that helps. My sister and husband have been going every year for 30yrs. 😊
You guys!!!! You really need to check out the Rolex 24hrs at Daytona. They change drivers, tires, brakes , front ends rear clips...etc etc. The 2025 race is coming soon... YES ...ITS 24 STRAIGHT HOURS with multiple classes of cars on track at the same time.. it is truly something to behold! I WILL be going to see at track in next few years
Unfortunately, you cut that great video too soon! We were told at the beginning of the video, it's 1,000 klms. That's why it's called the Bathurst 1,000.
I'd love to see you guys peep some of EMPLemon's stuff on UA-cam, namely his NASCAR vids: Talledega, Art of Revenge and There will never be another driver like Dale Earnhardt. He's a fantastic storyteller and excellent at weaving an in-video narrative and as nascar fans I think it'd be fun to get your perspectives on the stuff he covers in them. He recently dropped a video about Moneymaker's 2003 World Series of Poker run too and despite already being familiar with it I was hooked by his narration start-to-finish. Keep up the good work y'all 👍👍👍
Don’t know what video you played but it’s the wrong one get one that shows the whole video not this crap you have miss the ending of it going through the case and the finish line as he explaining one lap of the track. It’s 161 laps.. 🧐🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🇦🇺
All I can say is watch original races from the 90's - heaps of them on UA-cam - 90's era was the most incredible - guys like Larry Perkins losing all places on a bad start, and ending up winning the race from the last position - shit like that. Please consider!
You might want to consider looking at the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) there is a huge amount of content on UA-cam and as a motorsport series, there is little to eclipse it.
Those were good days back in the 90s or whatever. They'd play them on the weekend here in Australia. The difference with that category was the aggressiveness and what they could get away with. I also liked the game on PlayStation, Brands Hatch etc. I had a setup with an old car seat that I built 😊
This such a cool video but you guys butchered it why would you even cut out the best part of the video where they talk about conrod straight and them doing 300km please don't bother or don't don't bother reacting to anything Australian you guys a fake as
Due to the length of this race, and the concentration needed; each car has two drivers, who change during a pit stop. Each driver will probably be behind the wheel, for about 3 hours over the course of the race.
This guy is over-dramatic though - not that he shouldn't be, it's just in the wrong way. You need that Zen calm but flat-out driving, not this guy's balls-to-the-wall. No, these racers don't have co-drivers.
Don't cut the video bro... You missed so much for your viewers.
No spotters but radio communication with the pits.
Bathurst Mount Panorama is a Public road with residences ,about 3 hrs drive west of Sydney
Why did you edit out the chase to the last corner? It's not that long of a video bro?
Not only cut out the ending, cut out the beginning too.
Chase part is one of the best parts
Bad editing. :(
Because its all about getting the views. I doubt they even bother looking at the comments.
So, the end is cut off. The rolling Bundaberg Red car at the chase is epic, and the other stuff missing.
glad you told me, i am 3.50 and wondering why the beginning was cut, i wont bother with the rest.
@@iancremmins4727 I thought the same and kept watching 😕
@@arconeagain i am proud of you.

There's a clip of a nascar champion taking a ride on Mount Panorama. Hilarious😂
"Why am I even heeeere?????"
Sh!tting his pants is an understatement.
Why did you edit out some of the video?? Didn't see the build-up as he traced out the full track😕
the pad change used to take a while but they would also change drivers now they just replace the whole disc assembly plug in out
I think it’s around 161 laps he had it written on the board that he had the drawing of the with the information at the end of the video and the 6.23 kilometers per lap, 6.23 x161 = 1000 kilometers
161 laps of intense concentration and stress on body and car.

Yes, & yep it's had the crap cut outta it.. whoever posted it F'd the editing.
Dan, you can be driving that! It is a public road after all. Get your self there one day. It will be worth it.
only 1 in the vehicle. after the race, the track reverts to normal street driving
No spotters all year round. Just a radio to your crew chief in pit lane.
The change the disc and pad, they've developed a clip system that takes out the strain of trying to pry swolled pads.

Also no "spotters", the team can see the TV coverage and has radio contact, but I'm pretty sure the team doesn't leave the pits.

Yeah, Dan. Spencer. Changing those break pads they are RED Hot. literally!. They still have to be changed though. !!!

I subscribed today cos I loved ya wog vid reaction from Fremantle West Australia
Might as well be the first to comment. Really not feeling well today, so thanks for posting something interesting.
Fun Fact: besides when there's a race occurring, it's a public road. I drove my Mother's minivan the entire length when I was a learner driver.
And it is scary in many places just driving it at 60km/hr and thinking that those guys are doing three times the speed at those spots.
Great reaction, guys. There are 2 drivers in this race and also The 12hr race if Bathurst as well. A different race format.
it is 161 laps
Old bathurst is the best this stuff is too cheesy 😜

Put it this way, even Ken Block had a hard time trying to drive one of these cars!!
Great race over the weekend partying

Pete from Oz, we do love a few Dave Mathews Nan moments, just not while driving.
They used to just change the pads now they change the whole braking assembly
It seems you got the video that has been clipped and edited.. Try to have a look at he full video by 10 motorsport. It's awesome...
161 laps.
they used to hold shit hot motorbike races there, but the fans got a little exuberant and it got banned
161 laps for 1000kms.
Welcome to the greatest race track in the world 161 laps
No spotters 😂 I always think that's funny for some reason, just drive mofos

You need to watch the whole video, this is a VERY religious event for most rev heads.
Why arent you watching the full unedited version?
No spotters. Driver only. Course is regular public road outside of this week of driving.
Watch Darrell waltrips hot lap of mount panarama, hilarious.
And that’s one lap
check out Peter brock lap in one of the first in car cameras
If you want to see the fire crash without cuts ZJCzkrWps00 (the driver survived)
I think it would have been better if you played the full clip instead of cutting stuff out. Just my humble opinion.
It's the superbowl of motorsport.
drivers change your neck wont Handel the six hours so its split up between 2 drivers
161 laps per every Bathurst 1000.
Watch the uncut version, this one is missing the best parts
They do disc and pad changes
The race is 1000 klm.....161 laps.
Mad doco boys
Approx 160 laps.
I got a special spot for you guys, but you chopped that to $#!t!..🤨🙄
Supercars 1000km race is 161 laps
No spotters all on their own
Way too much cut out unfortunately. Would've been good otherwise

All alone no navigator.
Around 120 laps it works out to, if I remember vaguely... :P
"Spotters"? Get real!
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE REST OF THE VID YOU CUT GOOD PARTS OUT THAT TELL THE STORY🤬🇭🇲
Skipped the best bits

No spotters
Australian supercars. No oval racing. Real car controlling drivers. Makes nascar very boring.
Ruined the video by cutting it short, thumbs down for me

Not so. Brock and Moffat used to do the whole race. 😮
Watch Greg Murphys lap of the gods, fast lap.

No, these racers don't have co-drivers.
Yes they do. They swap several times over the 6 hour race
BTW he won the race several times
