This string of comments, however, is about earth providing enough food for everyone, which it very obviously does not. Trying to feed 8 billion people requires intensive farming, fishing, and breeding, along with cutting down wast areas of rain forest and other wildlife sanctuaries, while producing poisonous emissions, that in turn provides climatic chaos that destroys crops from severe flooding or draught. Don't blame any of that on war or bombs as they, if anything, bring the number of hungry mouths down and not up.

........ brought me back to the memory of those days .......... 40 years ago when my grandmother took me for a walk to our bamboo forest in spring time to dig out baby shoots. I can still taste that steamed rice with bamboo shoots and homegrown peanuts.
