I have tested the best golf drivers of 2024, but there are a few that I've missed. Including the Cobra Darkspeed LS Driver and the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Driver as used on the PGA Tour. Currently gaming the TaylorMade Qi10 LS Driver, have I made a mistake with my 2024 Golf driver?

I love Callaways entire lineup this year. I have NEVER liked Callaway drivers, but they sold me this year. I was lucky enough to get one of the Triple Diamond Max heads and it's the best driver I have had since 2016 M2.
The OG Paradym was awfulllllll…..
It's the other way around for me 😅 I can't seem to get along with their irons, but I've always loved Callaway drivers. Although tbf I haven't hit the Paradym drivers
Bought the Max D and never looked back so much more consistency and distance.. came from the Ping Max G430 which i never thought would be replaced. I still got the Ping G15 3wood in the bag though, nothing has come close to replacing it
I wanted to text the snoke max d to my ping 10k. I have a pretty negative aoa. I’ve heard good things
What shaft did you get? I had to wait a long time and ended up with Kai'li red. Don't like the shaft too much dispersion.

@@rossadamdixon Definitely true, but they are out there in the wild and available if you know where to look. Based on Al’s already low(ish) spin, it would be very interesting to see how he hits the TD Max compared to the TD.
@@nickdavison86I'm getting a max TD head from a tour player in USA. From his feedback it does spin more than the TD but the forgiveness is way higher. The square set up is also desirable.
I went 8 degrees ai TD set at 9 degrees to try and get a more neutral set up. I am keen to try the max but they should not be making it in a limited run.

Just got fitted for it in 9 degrees with Ventus Blue TR 6x shaft. Even mishits are going miles and straight (er). It’s a monster!
Been gaming the Triple Diamond 8 Degree head since May and I've been enjoying it. Its been a bit of a bucking bronco, but it has the largest amount of 300+ yard drives I've managed to hit. Working out to an average of 272 Yards which has allowed me to hit par 5 greens in 2. Traded up from the original Paradym which still was a great driver, just really found the Ai Smoke to be more stable.
I'm using the Paridym standard and I love it, do find it's a bit fade biased but shifted from a Taylormade SLDR and it's made a world of difference! Love my driver
Alex, have you ever heard of or tried the new triple diamond max? It’s basically the max head with some of the triple diamond features with a slightly higher spin rate than the triple diamond, but is more workable than the max model and slightly higher trajectory than the triple diamond. It is the best of both worlds! This was a limited release by Callaway of a previous tour model head only, But they did release some for the USA and Canada market and the UK market in very limited numbers. You need to try it! I bought one and it is absolutely fabulous. I got rid of my triple diamond because this was just simply better. I know your numbers here are good but I’ve seen you hit the epic Max LS And some of the other drivers 360 and 370 yards for distance so this is really no breakthrough with this triple diamond. Some of the older drivers you have hit longer! But give the triple diamond max a try only will likely find the driver of the year!
As others have said, you really need to get hold of a Triple Diamond Max (the 'tour only' limited release). It's phenomenal. Fairly low spin, long and forgiving with a dependable fade. I've ditched my Ping G430LST for this and it's stopped me considering the Titleist GT3. It's what the Rogue ST Max LS wishes it had been (I had that too). The Denali shaft has been a pleasant surprise too- much nicer than I'd expected a stock shaft to be.

Purchased this driver a few weeks ago after trading in qi10 ls. The AI smoke is an absolute animal, very very consistent, very long, just wow. Favorite driver I’ve ever owned past 30 years of playing, amazing job Callaway
Last year I tried the triple diamond but I liked my rouge max ls more. Then I tried this year's triple diamond... Straight in the bag! My misses are not as far off line and long! All across the face they are still getting out there! Best driver I have ever had! Somehow the straightest too!
I have the rogue max ls and I love it. I would like to try the new triple diamond but Im worried about the forgiveness. Did you see some additional distance?
@@Zarate76 the Ai smoke triple diamond is way more forgiving! I loved and still love the Rogue but this is better!

I got fitted into one of these after falling out of love with my stealth plus. It was quite surprising for me as I tried the Ping drivers, as well as the standard AI Smoke drivers. I have a 9 degree lofted up to 11 degrees. It goes straight, has low spin, and relatively long (for me). I've only just got it so looking forward to next year's golf season.
I have the Ai Smoke Max and the Ai Smoke Mini driver. I have temporarily taken the Max out of my bag to test a new driving iron. I hit the Mini just a few yards less than the Max but it is much easier for me to control. They are both excellent drivers!
Maybe 20 years ago I could think about a 120+ swing speed - no way now. Sticking with my Black Ops, but fun to watch you crush it!
Al I'm gaming the new TD and loving it. I play along the gulf coast in Texas and its always windy! With this driver I'm hitting lower more penetrating shots and haven't really given up a whole lot of forgiveness. I was custom fit and I believe I have a 9G weight in the back and a 7g in the front.
LOL. A new take on Retro Reviews! God knows what might come next? Mizuno ST230 Max? Gotta love Big Al.
I tested the Smoke triple diamond. It is a hot driver, but the head is too light for me. I had a hard time feeling where the face is at in my swing. So I hit it all over the place and had a hard time hitting the middle of the face. QI10 LS ended up being the driver for me.
I got one. Had to loft it up to 10 because my delivery changed but it is a monster, I love it
Im not a buy a driver every year guy, my last driver was ltdx. Really liked it. Went to try the TD Max actually but hit the TD as well and it was game over. First Callaway driver Ive had in 17 years. Its sneaky accurate for a “bomber” club.

I saw more accuracy but slightly shorter. Which makes sense for its construction. I’ll try and get it on the channel
Got a ai smoke TD and it's absolutely insane how long it is.
I've got more drives over 330 in 6 weeks than I have my whole golfing life. Bottom strikes have amazing balls speed and important the spin doesn't go crazy high.
I got fitted for one earlier this year with a Diamana GT 60 X and it’s a beast. Highly recommend
I recently picked up the TD 5 wood as I really wanted a fade bias fairway wood and holy cow, it’s an absolute monster! Even with a toe strike it still holds spin and doesn’t over draw. Now I’m considering testing the driver to see if it can take down my trusty G430…

Never been a callaway guy, got my hands on the Triple Diamond Max and it is a BEAST
I recently got a Triple Diamond Max head and have tried it out for a couple of rounds. For some reason it's launching a bit high for me, which is odd. I was recently fit into a PXG Black Ops Tour driver and that thing has been absolutely fantastic. I really, really want to game the Callaway Smoke driver because they look and feel outstanding. Performance just wasn't there against the PXG, though.
I got fit for it in around April. I was hitting it upwards of 340-350 in the shop. I needed more fade and less spin at the time. It was 9.0 setup, 124 swing, launching about 8, spinning about 1900….. But if I hit up on it, WOW!!!!
I am now playing it at 11.0 with a bunch of draw bias on it. It was way too unstable on the course. Too low spin, too much fade.
Last couple weeks I have it at averaging about 2700 spin and 316 with some 327 every now and then.
Be careful with that one😅
I got it this year and really love it! It’s the furthest and most accurate I’ve ever been and has brought the joy back in teeing up the big dog😁
I’m a big fan for Callaway irons till I tried the cobra darkspeed. But callaway drivers doesn’t click with me always. Something wrong in the overall balance. On the other side tietlest drivers are my best.

Been playing the Mavrik Triple Diamond Sub Zero for a couple of years now, witht he right weights and shaft, that thing is enough for me at the moment. Get it wrong and it's as bad as any other driver, but get it right....... yeah I'm not a massive hitter, but when it's right I'm pushing 280 metres (not yards), and even mishits are still around 250 metres, which for my age is good. Would love to upgrade to the TD SZ AI Smoke for the forgiveness if I had the spare cash, by the time that happens though there will be something better on the market

I've just got one of these brand new off ebay for £320. There's bargains out there! Swapped from the Darkspeed because that thing sounds horrendous compared to this angel
Didn't find it any longer than the Original taylormade SIM.
Negligible in forgiveness department as well.
As Al can consistently get 300+ yards out of a garden spade, this club is like a little respite..much easier to clobber the pill to Uranus...😂👏👍
AI Smoke Triple Diamond is the best driver I've played since my old Ping G10 face cracked. Took me 6 drivers and 10 years to find -- THE ONE.
I have one and I love it very close to last year model just a little bit straighter for me Al grip it, and rip it👍🏻

I have the 2023 Paradym Triple Diamond and wouldn't have minded seeing a comparison to the Ai Smoke Triple Diamond earlier this year, but maybe we're too late in the season for that video? 😔
I’ve just purchased a Cleveland XL2 driver which tested against all the most credited & it totally surpassed them.
But they’re hardly mentioned on UA-cam?

I would think that anyone with a lower swing speed will see crapy results due to very low backspin. Maybe that’s why the 🔶🔶🔶 gets bad reviews. I figure with my 90 mph swing, the ball would just drop out of sky after 200 yds.
It’s low spin sure. Not for every player but shouldn’t give it a bad review because of that. Very different driver with more loft too! Lots of adjustability available
I’m a bit cheap lol. I knew I was imparting too much spin on the ball with my PXG gen4 xf driver. I could see it. Switched to a cobra ltdx ls with a low spin shaft and a high launch lows spin ball. Went from 250 total to 290 total. I don’t swing particularly fast but I’ve worked on my strike. Smash factor is 1.49 consistently now. Which tells me I’m getting almost everything out of my strike that I can.

I got fitted into Cobra-King ltds Ls some mouthful. But anyhow,my swing speed isn’t that fast around 90-95 mph. But since I come very steep to the ball I generate alot of spinn. So the LS works wonders👍 Sure its nasty if u dont hit the center 😅

Playing Darkspeed LS with ventus black 6x Im 280 to 325 at 64 yo I really don't think I could do any better than that 😊😊😊

Could you explain the head sped v spin thing. I did have lessons and asked why my ball speed was good, but i got no distance.
All the pro did was try and sell me a new driver.
If spin is too high, how do we reduce it?

Could be a couple of things. If you deliver too much loft that can cause excess spin. Does the ball launch high? Low strikes will produce high spin as well. Check strike location.
Spin loft is a big one for distance. But as mentioned, spin is everything in regards distance. Higher strike achieved with attack angle with help massively

Don’t test the Tour Edge C723 driver. I can hit it anywhere on the face and it flys straight and consistent distance. And I am a bad golfer. Don’t test it.
You won’t win long drive competitions with it, but it has helped my tee shot performance massively being so consistent and forgiving.
You have a really low ball flight, that might explain the roll out.
I have a very high ball flight 😂😅 low spin will explain roll out and also more energy. It’s an efficient flight.

That is the worst 2024 driver of the top 3 brands. Obviously… it’s still good. But it’s ugly, sounds ugly, and the TM qi10 is better.

@@alexetchesgolf All of them I've so far witnessed live have been fade. It's not a bad thing, though, on the contrary. Buddy of mine has it with Ventus Black 7X, which finally ended up in Jon Rahm's bag as well. It took some time.
