He's a decent anchor with one of the better assists and good unassisted damage but he's far from the best. What holds him back is his lack of mobility and the fact that he's primarily a charge character.
He's good at solo combos but his damage isn't quite there. His conversions are wonky too. Dante is still good but you typically build a team around him or just take him for Jam Session.
Jared Martin They actually work really well together, even on a competitive level. Sometimes they're paired with Doom to lock-down with Hidden Missiles and control airspace to make up for their lack of air-control. Dante has Jam Session but he can't practically convert off of it on point as far as I remember.

Uh, no. "Meaty" has never meant "[hitting] them with the hardest normal attack [you have]". It means getting an attack to hit late in its active frames and/or during an opponent's wakeup.
