    I'm pretty good at drawing when drawing from a reference but when it comes to drawing by memory, I'm not very good. It's something I definitely want to improve on. It's not something I always want to use. This tutorial was very helpful and I'll definitely try out these exercises. Thank you for sharing. It was very informative.

    I have recently been amazed by finding out that when I draw a complex picture for the second time, sometimes months apart, I have a so much easier time with it. It takes so much less time. Sometimes I couldn’t even remember drawing it, but then I go back into my sketchbook and there it was! I look forward to trying this.

    This video is amazing im glad i found it! I'm currently practising for architecture exams and memory drawing is one of the subjects that gets tested . That made me panic a lot cause i only have a practise of looking at a sketch and drawing! But im going to try this method and work on that drawback thankyou soo much you really are a lifesaver!

    This memory drawing exercise is much much more important to learning to draw then people realize. It is everything , it is extremely difficult when you start, but stick with it , it may even make you feel funny, you can feel you’re brain struggling with it , that’s a good thing , that’s you’re mental blocks breaking.

      +jkonopka1 Hi ! I cover my bristle brushes after I wash them with water and soap to keep a good shape. I simply fold a piece of paper towel around the tip when they're still wet, it doesn't prevent them to dry properly.

    I love your work! I will def look into getting the book too. Also random question: what do you when you are trying to draw and nothing comes out? Like an artists block.
    I've been trying to draw for a while and nothing good enough comes out from my hand. 🙁

    • @FlorentFargesarts
      @FlorentFargesarts  8 років тому

      +Shannon Curran Do you mean, when you don't get any inspiration ?

    • @shaneth3178
      @shaneth3178 8 років тому

      +Florent Farges - arts Yes. For example-you want to draw but every line you make is not coming out right and you don't have that feeling to draw

    • @FlorentFargesarts
      @FlorentFargesarts  8 років тому +2

      +Shannon Curran If every line is not coming out right, then throw it away and start again, it's normal to do that for every artist, there should be no pressure about it... Also, the fun factor is important if you struggle sometimes. When I get bored or uninspired, I like to draw fantasy characters, ugly faces, monsters or scenes from my imagination. It's not for anyone to see, it's just for pleasure, it makes it a lot more enjoyable. Good luck !

      +Florent Farges - arts yea true true. Thank you for your advice!

    Hi, can you make an academic program for people who want learn academic drawing? you will just give us what we will drawing during 1 or 2 year like in academies of fine arts, for example this week 3 drawings of bargues, next week exercices on sading, next portraiture, next anatomy...you will not showing us how to draw them or give us courses on anatomy, you just give us A PROGRESSIVE PROGRAM, what i know is the progressif and systematic work are the keys of success...i have a year drawing but i don't know what to practice always...i think this thing will be very very important for serious people who want to learn academic drawing...for example you give us a plate for C.bargues we will search how to draw it on internet...many people teir dream is to going to a school of fine arts but they never have this chance....Thank you for your Help.

    • @FlorentFargesarts
      @FlorentFargesarts  8 років тому

      +Med Mahogany (Son Of Carthage) Hi ! Thanks for your message. The idea is great, and I agree with you that progression is key. Every time, a student needs to do something not too hard but not too easy either, just at the right level. It needs some real thinking. I will keep your suggestion in mind, but at the moment, this is not somethings I would have the time to do. Until then, you can always go to an art academy website and look for their students handbooks, they usually explain their progression and the type of work students should do. Like this : www.florenceacademyofart.com/index.php/en/certificate-programs/category/intensive-drawing-2
      And you can find all the academies of art here : artrenewal.org/pages/ateliers.php
      And one last thing about scheduling your work : in classical art academies, drawings are not usually made in one week, they usually take months. This is that goal for perfect accuracy that takes so much time. By yourself, it's going to be way more difficult to spend a month on a small drawing, but when you have critique, you always find that some things can be changed and need more work. The idea is to practice on less different things but to make them more accurate...
