While Marty Wilson - Piper is a great guitarist, AAE lost something when they kicked Tim Bricheno out of the band. He’s an excellent guitarist who songwriter. And they never again captured that stream of conscious mind melody making sound, whimsy and nostalgia they were known for!
Just my opinion but their music has held up very, very well. Re-listening here in '23. Very moving music.
Love AAE. Criminally underrated. Still listen to them often to this day. Great records
Ultraviolet is now turning into pretty much a cult album and maybe ahead of its time...its an amazing album.
Scarlet may well have been a commercial flop but my god, its a magnificent album. My favourite one of the lot.
Julianne Regan could sing the ingredients of a cereal box and It would still be amazing.

Did they kick him out, or did he leave voluntarily? I don't know much about the history of the band.
