I bought the six-button foot switch for my DSL40 CR and it’s a real game-changer. It opens this amplifier right up, giving you more flexibility and control.
I love the story of how this challenge came about. It's awesome that someone called you on your first review and you are willing to look at things through a clean lense...it shows integrity.
Pretty much what I feared. I had two of these in 1985, and they sounded boxy. Frankly, so does this one. It would probably be better thru a closed back 4 x 12 cabinet with some reverb. These days, I get better tones out of a Spark 40 with the JTM45 emulator, particularly when I listen thru headphones. Marshall may have had its day. I'm giving up on the brand. On the other hand, Lyle Caldwell at Psionic Audio lists this as one of his few favorites under $1000. The others are the Fender '65 reissues and the Vox AC15 and 30. It's a short list.
@@TheKevinNewsom I agree with you Kevin. I just bought one of these for Christmas. I haven't been able to play with it much yet. I only had a couple of hours to test it out yesterday for the first time and I really like the tones I'm getting from it, so far.

Thank you so much!
I am just about buying this model for 400€, unused. Would like to hear the clean sounds from you. Thanks for the video! Best regardes from Germany!
Rebels and Stars got riffs for days.
Great sounding amp IMO. However, really needs independent EQ for both channels similar to JVM50 models.
Got the DSL 402 and love it. Exact same amp as the DSL 40CR but in a 2 x 12 cab ❤
@@LockStoppageSandwich That's awesome! I bet she sounds great pushing those 2x12s.

I think it sounds great! All art and music is subjective.
