Very open, raw sounding amp and that gain is just unreal. Not my cup of tea, but a great sounding amp for savage tones. And I absolutely love that broken up clean tone.
Fluff, I know your job is demoing gear, but honestly, there are so many great amps out there today that it’s hard to get excited anymore. If you’re shopping for one, you’ll drive yourself mad if you want to try them all. What I want to know is when the next Dragged Under album is coming out.
What's exciting about this amp has been played down a bit in Fluffs video I think. yes it sounds good, but on top of that, it's small, it's got an actual clean channel (buh bye 5150 and their offsprings), it's got MIDI, it's got build-in tubescreamer. that's a lot of win for such a small package.
My ZT Lunchbox puts out 100wRMS via internal speaker (half the size of the Victory 'with' a speaker inside) and another 100wRMS via external cabinet (handles ANY 8ohm cabinet) ... Total 200wRMS + cabinet... drowning out 100w heads... the small light amp is perfect for travel with a Vox Fx Starstream guitar, or any guitar + a modelling pedalboard (like my Line 6 POD 500X HD)... and it's actually the size of a kids lunchbox!
No clue whatsup in this vid but it doesn't do the Kraken justice. That clip at the start sounded so weird and honky. And i say this as the vx super kramen is my main live amo right now
I just couldn't get along with mine, tried both EL34 and 6L6 power tubes, 6L6 were better for me but I moved the amp on, it squealed at loud volumes was fairly noisy and I just couldn't vibe with the over all tone.
I literally typed in your channel name and kraken and this video didn't come up! I had to go on your channel to find it. Whats up with that? Also this is my dream amp! I hope to one day own one.
I think this is one of your best presentations and finally got me to look closer at a Victory. Glad to hear you play a bit more what is that 2nd guitar you play here (with the “V” across the front 🤣) ?
@@Patrick-fv6yh I'm sure it's a situational thing too. It could've been the cab I was using in the shop, but I just found it a little dull and wanted to dial in a bit more presence
is it me or are like amp heads and amps overall getting smaller and less watts then in previous years? Like they are the cost of the giant high watt amps of yesteryear but now if you want a half stack with a high gain high watt large head its like almost 3000$?
@@johnpickk7526 ehhhh kinda. The more affordable big heads (think newer 5150, 6505 etc) are manufactured overseas, wheras the more expensive ones are being manufactured in the USA or the UK, all handwired and the price reflects that. Realistically, the only people who can actually get proper use out of huge, unnecessarily loud 100w valve heads are people who can afford them and are in situations, wether live or in the studio, where that volume of amplifier is necessary. As I said, you don't need 100w amps anymore. Hell, my Katana 50 could get over a drumkit in a pub with no PA, and realistically speaking that's the loudest your amp is ever going to be, because you have PAs to amplify yourself in larger venues. Why make a massive amp cheap and have no one use it when you can made it super expensive and know it will sell? 🤣
I had my choices of Kraken VX an ENGL Fireball/Ironball or the Peavy Invective. I went with the Fireball. Thinking of picking up the Kraken pre amp pedal though because ya know when it comes to tone the more choices the better.
I've got the Kraken preamp pedal running into my H&K Grandmeister 40 and I love it. It really is nice just to add 2 channels to an existing amp for some different flavors and textures.

You legit have helped keep me out of my depression over the past two years! Best content creator on UA-cam in my opinion
I'm so glad you played Juno. Definitely my favorite thing you've ever put out!
Dude, that first riff you did in a full mix needs to be a FULL SONG! LOVED that!
There's a song called Bernie by a band called failure that sounds a bit like the mix example, if you're interested
this
First part of it sounds a bit like "Blind Are Breeding" by Modern Life Is War
If you like that sound, you would LOVE amesoeurs
I'll be honest I liked what I heard in the demo. I might need to check out ones of these in the future. \m/
Great amp....as usual for Victory
Excellent t shirt at the end of the video.

That full mix was sick, looks you were vibing the f out of this amp
Deathlike Destroyer, the Music Man Armada, damn this is almost a pre-Covid flashback!
Nice job as always Ryan !! Sounds solid this amp !! :)
I hear that "The Offering" fill at the start of the demo there....
Damn I would never have noticed, good shout man! Sleep token got some of the best drums in modern music 🤘
Just picked one of these up less than a week ago, killer amp (albiet quite a bit noisy which is odd, even compared to my dual rec)
Agreed, really noisy , makes my mt15 sound quiet.
That first jam was tasty.
That amp is so sick.

Super kraken 🔥🔥🔥

Cool track, Ryan.
It was between this amp and the Randall Diavlo. I got the the Randall but that Kraken sounds soooooo good
Sounds awesome
Armada for the win!

It is compact because the printed circuit board will be made in China, but it is good, taste the sound

What a sweet amp man.
Man I want a Victory amp so badly!
Would you ever re-visit the Peavey JSX/Triple XXX ?
I def would
Unleash your inner kraken!
My boy Rabea Massaad’s put a lot of input into designing this amp
Fluff... what was the "cherryburst" guitar you played on the Preamp Focus section???
Ernie ball Armada
Do they make a matching speaker cabinet? All I hear is recto cabinet. Every amp you run through a recto cabinet just sounds like a recto cabinet.
They do make Kraken cabinet, vertically stacked 2x12 with V30s. Sounds awesome with my VX Kraken.
When I played one in a store I really didn't like that it didn't have a presence knob. What'd you think of that being left out
I have smaller version. I miss the presence knob. But the tone of these makes up for it
@@Patrick-fv6yh I'm sure it's a situational thing too. It could've been the cab I was using in the shop, but I just found it a little dull and wanted to dial in a bit more presence
I just could never quite make this amp work for me. Awesome beast but that Gain 2 channel just lacked the bottom end to make it work.
Cool
Are they ever going to have any to sell in the near future?
Sweetwater has them in stock now

It's because realistically, you don't *need* a high gain large amp stack. It's a luxury, so you'll pay luxury prices.
Agreed
@@lmcf_gtr it's more the fact that the brands are upping the cost of these large amps for no real reason
I have a 15 watt EVH and EVH 1x12 and it sounds massive.

so is Rabea not associated with the kraken anymore?
He helped create it so very much associated with it but not his "signature" amp.
@@dvdpz89 thanks
Slight cocked wah tone. Only slight, but I mean who doesn’t like saying cocked wah?
🤣
Yep. Thought that too. DIed cocked wah at that
Don't know if it's just your recording, but it sounded like a small practice amp on my end.
Sounds good… Seems very SLO like.
yur 100watts...
$2200 for an amp with shared EQ? Really?
Yea that sucks
Made in England by a relatively small company compared to your oranges and marshalls and such. It isnt too surprising.
Import costs. It's not that expensive here. And very well worth its price
Im a Rabea fan, and victory amp president, but im not into the tones in this play through.
