Part 2 of the Unify Video Manual covers how to install ALL of your Plug-Ins (I suggest not loading all formats, at least to start) and how to Create + Edit Subsets.

We are aware that for VST/VST3 are not recognized in Ableton Live. However, the Audio Unit version of Unify is - so please use the Audio Unit version for now.
The PlugInScanner is not perfect! It might come to a plugIn and freeze. We’re sorry if this happens to you. You can drag your plug-ins into the PlugIn window to have them loaded without using the scanner as an alternative way to load your plug-ins (you can drag multiple files!)
AAX is not supported at this time but is also something we’d love to include but this License takes a while to acquire.
We have fixed a few small issues so for those of you that wish to get the latest, please log into PlugInGuru.com and you’ll see the latest version you can download on the “My Account” page.

I just purchased Unify and got it all set up and OMG!! This is an amazing tool. The world of possibilities for quickly and easily combining and mixing sounds from all my different libraries and combining them with all my different FX plugins and MIDI plugins and.... I think I just had a mild stroke. What a brilliant plugin you and your team have created. WOW!
This video was made just before we added multiple search terms to the plug-in list. You can now type e.g. VST !VST3 inst, to select all VST instruments which are not VST3.

As always, great work Shane. I would ask if you would speak with John and consider changing the 'enable' / 'disable' indicator for effect inserts; the WHITE of disabled, is brighter than the BLACK of enabled, so seems counterintuitive in that disabled appears brighter. I know that you need to be cognizant of color blindness in UIs and it may be too much to ask to have an Options setting for Green = enabled, Red = disabled, but can you at least consider a change to make enabled the clearly brighter option?

Mr Skippy watching your videos over and over and getting things sorted on my own machines ..The learning curve however is slow.. your videos so helpful though. I really understand how much time of your life this takes.. appreciating. Promise I wont ask anything unless something is not mentioned in "some of your great videos" . I have just one thing to say to you.. In one of your videos you were talking about Korg..( u said you love it) I didn't get the year exactly, but I think 1988 you said about one of the Korg machines.. My first Korg was a PS 3100, not sure you know about this one, as it was before your time but is was FULL POLYPHONIC, late 70's .. but Peter Gabriel was using one of this masterpieces I learned later.. and for many years I kept this 50 kilo or something in my cellar.. then a studio musician... a real one bought if for like 2000 dollars and I thought he was joking.. those cables and all those knobs.. I thought it was just garbage. I couldn't get much of it as a teenager, haha.. But now..I am proud even if not a musician.. I had a thing like this in my cellar :) KORG FOREVER, haha. Unify Hooray

Just testing and can't turn off,very addictive.Really one plugin what i've wished to have where i can open all my plugins in one place without limits. Perfect job John and Shane,one thing if possible in future create inside Unify internal mixer for each layer would be perfect,thanks a lot for mega awesome plugin !!!
OMG, I was just up all night going through my learning curve. Unify is without a doubt the most powerful tool I have for live performance or recordings. I haven't actually played a gig with Unify yet, but I just made the ultimate stack for my EWI. I can't wait to try it on my saxophone. So now I can use all the VSTs I have bought over the years like Omnispheres, Easy keys or whatever and have them work together on live performances. This was a brilliant piece of work but a tragedy for Mainstage I'll probably never have to open it again Unless I need to access To some of their tools But you have included so much already I can't think of anything I will miss. Plus Unify uses a lot less CPU. You guys rock!😎
I bought Unify when it was initially released, and I used it very little because of time constraints. I’m just now staring to explore it via the video manual today, and wow when I added Omnisphere to one of the presets, it was glorious. And because I’m using an Apple silicon-based MacBook Pro, I am looking forward to pushing its lmits without going too crazy. Anyway, it was great to add my first plugin to test, and also cool to create those subsets. Gonna continue onward; nice going!
Okay, thanks guys for launching this and congrats!! I've watched all five videos, but after the first couple, I bought this yesterday. Using it now with my Mac & Logic and it's really awesome. Gives me a great new WORKFLOW & new creative access (velocity/splits/layers, etc) to all the crazy plugins and soft synths on my system. Very, very cool.

I've only had Unify a few days, but I am starting to get comfortable with it, and working my way through the amazing variety of patches and patch combinations. Also working on getting the Spitfire Labs working. I purchased the BBSCO Unified and am totally blown away by the possible soundscapes that can easily be set up (using the Core library). Spitfire Labs is having problems with several of the patches (Autoharp, Bass Guitar, Christmas, 80s Electric Guitars, LA Atmos, Ondes Musicales, Organic Textures, Pipe Organ, Siren Songs, and Synth Strings do not work. The Percussion patch substitutes for all of them).
So far I have Magix Independence, Alchemy (the Camel version, pre-Apple), and Decent Sampler working just great. Now I'll have to try layering some of the patches, then getting the Macro knobs assigned to my AKAI. I may never leave my office again!

As if Omnisphere wasn't endless enough, I don't think I will purchase another VI because of this plugin.

Hey John- I'm not clear why you were eliminating all the VST3's. I've always assumed they were just the latest version of VST's. Can you explain that again?
If you use VST (not VST3) versions of the plug-ins, the patches created are 100% cross-platform compatible. Audio Unit are Mac only and VST3 has issues that keep it from being 100% cross-platform. We will figure out what we have to convert to get VST3 to be compatible but for the moment only VST is. NOW, if you are not making patches that you will share with anybody else, you can use any of the 3 plug-in formats. But since I'm making patches that I will be sharing with the whole community I am using only VST whenever possible.
if your on PC and use 32bit plugins like i do cause they dont make them 64bit and you use Jbridge .. You
"MUST" set properties of the application "UNIFY" to run as administrator .. Then every 32bit plugin you have will work as it should when you scan your Personal Custom Vst folder

Today I bought Unify and the installation on my Mac and it was without any problem. Out of the box it sounding very nice.
Then I started scanning. No problem with the AU. But scanning VST was a different story. Try to scan them but stayed at 0% so I had to abort that.
Then scanned the VST3 and at 36% it was trying to scan Omninsphere but stopped and the started and stopped and so on. So I had to abort that as well.
Next question. What do I need to install on a Mac. AU files or VST or VST3 files or do I need to install all of them and then from the list which one do I need to choose for better results (Maybe les demanding on the processor)?
So please advice.
Effenix We’ve become aware of this issue, which affects newer Macs, and we’re working on a solution. Hope to have it out shortly after NAMM.
sorry if you covered this but im strapped for time atm, would this open up a windows only vst on a Mac? if not? is there anything? BTW- TY for representing PDX :D
Hello IC - unfortunately there isn't a way to do this directly. You CAN network a PC to a Mac and play sounds from the PC computer on your Mac but the code for one OS is not able to be directly used in another OS for a rather huge mountain of reasons.
what does the G 8 lings mean in the suras
I may just be dumb but after watching this video I still have no idea how to initiate a plugin scan in Unify, how to tell Unify where to find my VST2 folders, or even how to find PC Unify folders that are equivalent to those on a Mac. Call me old school, but this progran needs a standard PDF manual. While unify seems to be a good idea it is crippled by the disorganization of its help resources.

Love the concept but I can’t really understand the plug in and library function I have a library one day next time I have nothing. Where is my standard library?I had it for a while now I have nothing Great app but sooo confusing

Hello, I find it sometimes a bit unfair on YT to users who do not have English language skills and so as here also the automatic translator is not present in your videos. I can scan My vst but where can i find The vst loaded inside unify?
Hi there! If you hit "Init" first, then the little dot to the right of "Sine Wave Synth" - that opens the Instrument selector window. 2nd option from the bottom "Swap: All Instruments" will give you the complete list of all known plug-ins Unify has scanned. will logic sounds show up in unify?
Unfortunately no - The plug-ins unique to a specific DAW are built into the DAW's application and we can't access them. Only plug-ins that are in your VST, VST3 or Components folder are able to be loaded into Unify. Thank you for the great question.
In windows I can't find any Unify Standards Library.guru icon after downloading. I only see a Unify Standards Library folder with three subfolders. Can't figure out how to load the library......????

Is anyone else having problems loading KORG Gadget plugins into Unify? They load but the UI is completely black ...?
Update: the AU’s work, but not the VST’s.

Yes. One of our users has been testing various MPE-capable plug-ins and they are working fine in Unify.
How is the compatibility with Catalina ?
We’re not there yet but it’s a top priority!

Looks awesome but I imagine once you start layering the cpu, it's gonna be beefing out in no time once you get your tasty weapons happening..... So a beast cpu will prob be the most needed for this tasty idea
No need for a faster processor. Up your RAM to 16 GB minimum and you can still have a great sound experience.
This is a huge pain. There has to be a better way to add these
All DAW’s have a process of scanning. We have to use these tools to qualify & test each plug-in. It’s not that big of a pain. I have 700+ plug-ins and yes, it takes time, but yes, after an hour or 2 all 700 are yeast for use. I think that is what you’re referring to, Thomas?
can we load individual plugins from Kontakt?
Kontakt doesn't have plug-ins, it plays samples and you can save Kontakt playing any samples you set up and it will call them back up - be aware some might take a little time to load...
