I don’t know much I am a protestant having been raised protestant and my prayers always start with repentance and end with repentance and in the middle I ask him to take care of my family and friends and to bless them and to especially bless the people who hate me the most. I forgive everyone who hates me and ask god to bless them. I bless everyone who does wrong to me. I feel drawn to the catholic church and have for several years now and I guess the only thing stopping me is my work schedule and satan keeping me inside. God bless you all.
Find a way to make it happen! I am in OCIA myself and I am excited for my baptism and first communion. I was also raised protestant, in a denomination that looked at Catholicism as the anti-Christ. The Holy Spirit guided me to the Catholic Church over the last several years and I feel closer to Christ than I have ever felt in my life.
@@FlapjackKalanchoe and then the catholic church leadership including the pope started preaching heresy and ended my aspirations. If any catholics want to meet together for worship and bible study I think its something we as christian’s need to do to not fall under the spell of satan. It is not ok to make women and homosexuals clergy and then to preach that its ok is heresy. The pope is absolutely fallible and his recent statements prove it. Satan has got his grasp on the Catholic church and wont let go till Christ return. We as Christians need to discern satan from the Jesus followers and have our church underground. The church of satan is taking over the world with so many millions of people choosing their own gender in open opposition of gods will. They moc Jesus and disobey the word by having female and trans and gay and even clergy in drag the only god they worship is satan and the colors they drape their churches in are rainbows. I refuse to join in on the catholic clergy and leadership sin. There is even a young priest I enjoyed watching his movie and show reaction videos and he made a video defending the church leadership even defending homosexuality. People are even defending tattoos now because it’s only banned in the old testament. Churches everywhere have been subverted by the beast and the church priests and preachers have already started preaching sinful ways to willing ears of people desperate for salvation but will only receive condemnation. We have a presidential candidate who targeted and threw out Christian’s who yelled out Jesus is lord. Do not doubt for one second that I am wrong.
Your love for Jesus will remain...strong and fully intact. Its all about Jesus. I have left the church and bounced around several Baptist denominations, apostolic, etc.. During that period,, I met lovely people full of the spirit who had such a deep love for Jesus. I love the way they would sing and adore (with arms raised up) our Lord. The reason I wound up coming back to the Catholic church was because something seemed to be missing. The one true presence of our Lord and Savior in the Holy Eucharist.
As a protestant, you may never get it... but a basic thing is that a baby is born to his mother.... If you want to be born as a Catholic ... find HIS mother ... ask her to take you to HIM... you can't get into your friends house without having loving respect for his mother.. same principle ... you can't call Jesus your brother, savior, or Lord I you don't love and respect his mother... she will bear you into the catholic church.. she will direct the HS to you.. she will make it happen for you.. we're babies... she's our MOM.
I can personally identify with the rich young man because I always catch myself getting more attached to the things of this world than Wisdom and that always results in unhappiness and a lack of joy. Lord, give me your Wisdom and Prudence. Thank you Bishop Barron.
Mighty Father, please grant me strength to carry my cross. Lord Jesus, please grant me patience to not give up. Holy Spirit, please grant me wisdom to make the right decisions. Guardian Angel, please guide me in the right direction. Amen.

If our leaders in the family, church, and government ask for wisdom, our world wouldn't be terrible as it is today. Lord grant us your wisdom and prudence

Prudence = frugal = being thorough and thoughtful before judgement or action. Logical and wise thinking in matters of finding a husband, getting a good job that takes you into retirement, and going to school are some of the most important decisions a woman can make in her life. Thank you Bishop Barron.
Thank you, Bishop Barron for your homily. As I reflected on praying for Wisdom and Prudence, I thought of the Serenity Prayer: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the WISDOM to know the difference.”
I just ask God to be with me no matter what I have or what I haven't got; no matter how wise or stupid I am, especially when in my stupidity I walk away from Him, I pray He keeps on calling me...
To go to Heaven when I die. I try staying in a state of grace by going to confession every two to three weeks. I fast and pray and offer up EVERYTHING to God for the souls in Purgatory and for Sins against our Lady’s immaculate heart and Jesus’ sacred heart. I try to be prudent without being scrupulous. I always visit the blessed Sacrement on Fridays at adoration and always stay for Friday Afternoon Mass right after. I always go to confession while adoration is ongoing. I just submit to God and ask him to help me in all virtues especially when I commit the opposite sin to a virtue.
Again Bishop Barron melds the O;d Tetament reading with the Gospel message. Tremendous. I was lector last evening for mass reading the wisdom passage. I prefer reading the Old Tetament passages. Earlier in the week, I was feeling ambivalent about this passage. So I researched the passage in Food for the Soul, by Peter Kreeft. It illuminated the meaning for me. Nnow Bisjop Barron made that light brighter. I always look forward to our Bishop's Sunday sermons here. Bless him.
Thank you, Holy Trinity, for the gift of Bishop Barron, his Homily's is a Blessing to all of us. Bless him in a very special way so that he can continue to inspire us to follow your teachings. God Bless the Universe.
For the first time ever, I come across not just a clean comment section,(though god alone knws how rare a sight even that is) but a wholesome one in the internet.
Thank you Bishop Barron, I am having a better morning now, your message was much more uplifting and inspiring from the Homily my priest had at Mass. I came home in a funk and sat down to hear your message. I am inspired to ask for prudence and wisdom every morning when I wake up💜
Wealth, beauty, power- all wish list items. My prayers are for my adult children coming back to the church, overcoming their addictions, finding peace in God, finding a path to supporting themselves. But I finish with Thy will be done, and I can't possibly have the wisdom to know God's will.
I just heard this thought. it doesn’t actually say he didn’t follow Jesus. there is a theory that he was Mark himself since it says “he went away sad”. knowing someone’s emotion might mean it was because it was Himself who wrote the story. And how humble if it was Mark to actually include that letting go of His stuff made him sad. It allowed Jesus to have that moment to teach the point.

At 52 years old I am so lucky to be poor because I turn to the lord for everything, if I were wealthy I would rarely turn to god because its easier to throw money at all your problems instead of turning to Christ.
Always a great homily. I needed to hear so many points to remind me of what is really important. “All gold compared to wisdom is sand”. “Don’t ask for health . Don’t ask for beauty . Don’t ask for wealth. Don’t ask for power. Ask for to understand your life from the standpoint of God.” “ Ask for wisdom. Ask for prudence”. 🙏😇 Thank you Bishop Barron for another awesome sermon.🧡

Bishop Barrron, you mentioned in your sermon you'd like to see a gifted novelist trace the life trajectory of the rich young man... well, iIt's already been done in a novel about St Luke by Taylor Caldwell published in 1959 (Dear and Glorious Physician). Caldwell portays the rich man as later having second thoughts after the Lord's resurrection - he eventually completely embraces the Lord and comes to play a full part in the early Christian community! ...
