In times of need, we have an option to rely on our own wit, our resources, our influence, friends and family. "Well, I have a college degree, got my savings as backup, my family as my safety net." To forego our instincts, but instead go to the Holy Spirit and submitting to His will first... sigh, so hard to do. Asking, "Lord, what is your plan for me?" When you/I believe that we already got a plan (an even better one that God's (yikes!) ). To humble ourselves before God and to first consult in life decisions that we make, in the end will lead to prosperity -- if not the life here on earth, definitely in eternal life. Mother Teresa's life is that blue print. She may not have had the personal riches of the earthly life, but if there is a heaven, she's certainly there. It's amazing how she humbled herself and turned to God to lead the way. Easier said that done. Only with the help of the Holy Spirit that I/we can surrender our lives to God. God Bless you, Bishop.

I was walking to my art course the other day and listened to this by “accident”… I had never heard of this Elijah story. Well, when I arrived at my course, I walked into a different class - not mine - and there were all different icons on the tables. I walked right up to one of Elijah and the ravens. I was dumbstruck. And the next minute a man walked up noticing me admiring his icon. I told him my incredible story of just hearing the story of Elijah on my way to the studio. I introduced myself and so did he. My name is ELIJAH, he said. Wow 🎉 Thank you bishop Barron and God bless your words and the word of the holy Bible ❤🙏🏻
Dear Bishop Robert Barron - I am literally being sent to a foreign country to drink from a dried up wadi! I am half way there and have already suffered many ills on the way and really did not want to continue. I am not sure I will be fed by ravens but I am already meeting people on the way who have been a great help to me. Your message today is as timely as ever and has given me the courage to go on. May God bless you richly in your vocation.
"The Lord be with you, may He make His face shine upon you". Pray for His perfect will to be done in your life. Unite in prayer your suffering with Christ's for the conversion of sinners and/or the poor souls in Purgatory.
The two widows, of the Temple and Zarepheph, and the boy with 5 loaves. . . they all placed themselves to Trust, to Truth, and gave their all. And God was pleased, "This was, this is, this always will be very good." And He blessed and bestowed His bounty. Now I pray Lord: let it be done for Your Glory. Let us be receptive, let this sink deep into our whole hearts and souls, along with our whole mind, body, and strength. May You bless our all, and grow our sacrifices and gifts. With our Theotokos' fiat, in the spirit of Your Eucharist, may we forever thank and praise You. Amen.
This man is amazing... True story - I just finished watching a video where the host was answering questions. Many of the questions centered around saying they are tired of "holding the line" and that they are thinking about giving in because they want something to happen according to when "they" want it. I responded "are you courage or are you simply grey matter?" And " are you sentient beings or sheep"? But then, rather than doing my normal fury; I wrote "trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not really upon your own understandings." We are not in our time, we are in the Lord's time. I suggested they go deep within themselves to hear his voice. That was all I could do; then I was led here. When we/I listen to God, this is what he does for us/me; another piece in my puzzle 🙏

Nice. Just like what we just learned in our Bible study this week, that this trust is the mark of the spiritually mature who through repeated trainings, like an athlete in training, finds that God is worthy of our trust. Hebrews 5: 14: "But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil"
i love how Gods commmand seems so counter intuative to our thinking. It dosent make sense to our minds to ask a widow in poverty for provision when she can barely survive herself. God wants us to move in total faith, its when we believe and move in faith that miracles and wonders happen, increasing our faith in him.
I have no idea what God wants me to do or what his project is. Praying my whole life and I don’t hear a thing. I had a miserable career, family members afflicted with disease, and unending disasters. Hasn’t sent me anyone. I keep hearing about all these miracles. I have never seen one. I don’t know anyone who has seen one. I don’t know anyone who knows anyone whose seen one.
God works in really obvious ways probably even more than he works in mysterious ones. I had spent weeks crying out to God “I am so scared and I feel so afraid. Please show me your great love. I need its comfort.” And day after day I felt lost. I couldn’t find his love. I was so scared. And then one day I was in prayer, calling out just the same as I had been when I had this thought to just write down about my day. Not asking for anything, just running through my day on paper and wow! The people I had encountered that day when reflecting. More importantly WOW- the LOVE I had encountered that day. So many people in my life that had been taking care of me and I had been so blind to them. I didn’t see their love at all but it was right there in my friend making me a cup of coffee, in my boyfriend inviting me to lunch. All of it. It had been there the whole time. It was like God said “HEY- I’m right here. See? Here is the love you so desire.” And what a blessing it was to have that realization. In realizing that God is in community. He is our personal, closest friend and asks us to know him better by loving others just as they love us and just as he loves us. Praise God.
Thank You Lord for Bishop Robert Barron’s podcast which reminds me of “Luke 6: 36-38” which I write in memo section of personal checks. Praise God! ✝️🕊❤️🤗🙏🏻

True story: I once had almost no money, literally pennies, so I tested God. What I did was I went to mass on Friday, gave all of my money to the collection basket save my fare home and told God, "Ok, your move." Saturday, I ate whatever was in the kitchen and stayed home. That Sunday somebody gave me a hundred dollars. I told God I'd never do that again. 😅
God bless all of you and your families and I pray that God watches over you and you know that your loved by the lord God so always remember to trust in the lord no matter what even if your believes are tested and have a blessed day in Jesus name Amen 🙏
Dear Bishop Barron, this message is meant for me today. Thank you for being an instrument of God. The law of the gift is what we need to remember always. Everything is for a reason; not our reasons but God's. Thank you.
Wisdom and truth in these words. I’ve had three major, unexpected financial expenses in the last few months. I plan for financial emergencies, but it is still uncomfortable. I believe God has called me to bless someone financially, but I tend to pull back where money is concerned. You never know what’s going to break next. After listening to this homily, I’m going to give this lady a monetary gift. It’s my duty. Thank you, Lord.
I recently moved house and once I realized I had an space on an empty wall, I promptly bought this sticker and look at it 24/7. What does my sticker say? "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God." - John 14:1 This verse was also the devotion I read when I was in Finland, by myself for a vacation, and deeply worried about something. I remembered praying to God "If I am not worried, I am lying. But I trust in you O God." Before I knew what happened, the problem was solved. Scratch that. A miracle happened to me. Up to today, I never forgot and I strongly believe that the miracle happened because I trusted in God. ❤
Wow what an incredible message from Bishop Barron! Just exactly what I need it to hear during these forty days of Lent. I need to break my habits of dependency, I have to look for the water of the Divine Grace and I won’t thirst again. Thanks BB for a great homily. Message sent from Guatemala 🇬🇹
I have returned to this message multiple times this week. I have been called to foster/adopt but have been avoiding completing the application. I've been afraid for the sake of my own resources. Yesterday I had a call about a child that I may potentially adopt. The first thing that came to mind was the line, "Your being increases in the measure you give it away." Pray for me on this journey. God bless.
I find Bishop Barron exceptionally gifted ad a preacher. No idle moment when I listen to him. I get glued. May the Lord continue to bless him in his work of sharing Gods words.
My family and I are going to live in a desert state to give our kids a better quality of life and hopefully a solid Christian community which we don’t have where we currently are. This meditation is very helpful.
This talk strikes a strong chord in my life since COVID began. Various random events have been happening since last year where either I have gotten directed to voluntarily do something or been made to sacrifice. Without knowing if anyone got helped at all. Personally when some sacrifices did hurt, in my prayers, there was a single message "surrender to the Lord, someone else has needs more than you do; these acts will be helpful somewhere per my plan". God's simple, God's Great .
Thank you Bishop. Once in Tucson when I was very hungry I went to sing with Gospel Mass Choir at a funeral at a tiny church. We did not know the young man who died but we were asked to sing so we did. The family and friends had brought some food, but the choir was not invited to partake, so of course we did not. As I left the little church down hearted I looked down in the parking lot at a perfectly wrapped still warm cheeseburger from a nearby fast food place .. I looked around to see who had dropped it.. then I looked up to the sky to ask if my eating it was ok .. and felt confirmed that the cheeseburger was indeed meant for me …I’m by no means a prophet and there were no nearby ravens but still .. in a bit of a desperate place I do believe the Lord sent nourishment . Thank you for reminding us all today God is not being at all frivolous in asking ..yes even commanding - to trust in Him.

We thanks God that this great lesson you taught us today in this great story of old testament in your homily your being increases in the measure as you give away which St John Paul called it as you said the gift of law. This law applies very much in our time of scarcity in particular today's context. Once agine I thank your Lordship as psalm said my mouth shall speak words of wisdom which you teach us in every homily you make. God bless you.

Thank you for these words that bring me comfort. To trust that beyond the suffering, there is grace.
As always Bishop Baron your sermons give such a light on the meaning of these biblical stories that I eagerly look for them Thank you and God bless you always.

Thank you so much Bishop Barron. You're the one whom God is sending to me today! May God bless you and your ministry... that you may continue to touch the hearts of many! The prophet Elijah has always been a father and mentor to me in terms of trust and complete surrender to God. In these trying moments of my life when all doors are close one after the other, sources are drying up... and finally, I've hit the wall! And I told God, " Are you joking me?" Haha. Lol. And Bishop said it so plainly! Thank you Bishop for speaking to this poor heart of mine! God is a loving Father.. He is always up to something!
Thank you Bishop Robert Barron you never run out of inspirational talks / homilies👏God Bless you more than forever, God is Good all the time, Amen🙏😔😇👏🌷🌸💖
Outstanding focused sermon on the need to trust in the Lord. To be a symbol of love by giving. In giving you are given. Keeping the mind and purpose straight that you give out of love and not expectations of receiving, the universe God gives back to you in abundance.

Needed this. I am epileptic and suffered a seizure this morning. On top of that i have been unemployed for 7 months struggling to find work i can live on. In that time, i started going to Mass and converted to Catholism. I have met good people and a friend who i now live with. I do wish that i knew God's plan for me. Wish that i could get a job and not be so reliant on others. Many people have and are praying for me about the job and nothing. I just don't understand it.

I can’t do much for you (in comparison to Bishop Barren knowledge regarding the scriptures), but I can recommend reading Mere Christianity when you get the time (I recall BB praising that book in another video). That one helped me understand the finer details of the Christian life. Other than that, I can promise to pray that God makes your road to Him clear; God be with you.

When you are going through the worst drought in your life trust in God trust in his Providence.
Thank you Bishop Baron I needed to hear that today pray for me and my family please
Hello fellow Catholics .. has anyone had any apparition from our blessed mother. pls share with me
Thank you dear. Bishop Barron for you teachings and the Rosary. 🥰🙏🏻🕊🌹
Wow 🎉
Thank you bishop Barron and God bless your words and the word of the holy Bible ❤🙏🏻
Be consumed by God's love.
Amen.
My parish priest recommended I listen to bishop Barron & I can’t get enough of his wisdom & the way he explains things. Bishop Barron thank you
This man is amazing...

Having faith in God is knowing that He will always be with you no matter how thick or thin 💖💖💖
"Your being increases in the measure you give it away." God bless you and thank you. I needed to hear this beautiful message.
i love how Gods commmand seems so counter intuative to our thinking.
What! We are getting an Old Testament gem that's usually talked about in retreats. Nice
Praise God.
👍
Being angry, disappointed ...it wears you down...
I'm trying...really trying.
Thank You Lord for Bishop Robert Barron’s podcast which reminds me of
“Luke 6: 36-38” which I write in memo section of personal checks. Praise God! ✝️🕊❤️🤗🙏🏻

Exactly what I needed to hear, a young widow, my kids were 7, my kids will be going off to college, I go to every Catholic Church event, heal me oh Lord
If I am not wrong. The act of give has to be an act of Love!
Now that's what I'm talking about. Amen, Brother
@@lauragambini6279 Agreed, Laura. God Bless.
ANYONE WHO READS THIS YOU DON'T WALK ALONE. 🦋✨🙏🥀📿👵
God bless all of you and your families and I pray that God watches over you and you know that your loved by the lord God so always remember to trust in the lord no matter what even if your believes are tested and have a blessed day in Jesus name Amen 🙏
Thank you 🙏🏻 Bishop Barrón . God send you this morning to speak to me . I was crying when I open my phone and you pop up . God bless you 🙏🏻
O Lord, may we have the heart to listen..
O Lord, may we trust in You to leave our ‘comfort zone’ so that You may be glorified 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾
Trust in God."
- John 14:1
This verse was also the devotion I read when I was in Finland, by myself for a vacation, and deeply worried about something.
I remembered praying to God "If I am not worried, I am lying. But I trust in you O God."
Before I knew what happened, the problem was solved.
Putting your faith in the hands of God! I could do that. Thank you Bishop.
🙏
I have returned to this message multiple times this week. I have been called to foster/adopt but have been avoiding completing the application. I've been afraid for the sake of my own resources.
Yesterday I had a call about a child that I may potentially adopt. The first thing that came to mind was the line, "Your being increases in the measure you give it away." Pray for me on this journey. God bless.
Praise God who gives us our daily bread, even in a famine!!! Give and it will be given to you in FULL MEASURE!
I lost my wife and feeding myself with Bishops Wisdom really helps.
Beautiful, “ the Law of the Gift” explained in words to live by. Amen🙏🏽
I find Bishop Barron exceptionally gifted ad a preacher. No idle moment when I listen to him. I get glued. May the Lord continue to bless him in his work of sharing Gods words.

10:20. “Your being increases in the measure that you give it away”
Trust in God's providence. Your being increases in the measure that you give it away.
Bishop Barron: I have sent this video to one of my sisters, who lives very difficult moments. I was speaking with her when I have seen your video notification. It is for her, I could not believe it!! She don't understand English but she will UNDERSTAND the message with the subtitles. Thank you so much, my favourite american bishop. I always listen to you, I pray for you. God bless you, greetings from Spain! 🙏

Please pray for me. I not generous. My God forgive me and give me grace to love others. Amen.
Thank you Bishop. The Lord has spoken to me through you. I thank you. God Bless You ✝️✝️🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hello
Hello fellow Catholics .. has anyone had any apparition from our blessed mother. pls share with me
My brain and mind have been rapidly deteriorating as some non-specific neurodegenerative condition eats away at my ability to walk, smile, read, and think - God's grace has become a refuge for me in the last moment when it became so dire.
Thank you for these words that bring me comfort. To trust that beyond the suffering, there is grace.
As always Bishop Baron your sermons give such a light on the meaning of these biblical stories that I eagerly look for them Thank you and God bless you always.
Hello Betty how are you doing
Powerful sermon 🌹Thanks So Much! And I love your interpretation of the readings. Mel Brooks for sure🤣😂🤣😂God bless you. You have Truly been Sent😉😉 Blessings 😌
Dear brothers and sisters pray for me for my mental health my physical health and my strength to stay walking in a righteous manner please
Love to watch your videos before heading off to mass. I like the somewhat different and often deeper perspective.

Thanks Bishop. I’m one of those people you mentioned who needed to hear this
Thank you Bishop for this beautiful video. May God Bless You Bishop.
Best storyteller in the business !!
Outstanding focused sermon on the need to trust in the Lord. To be a symbol of love by giving. In giving you are given. Keeping the mind and purpose straight that you give out of love and not expectations of receiving, the universe God gives back to you in abundance.
I needed to hear this today. Thank you. God bless you.
Good work, Bishop Robert Barron.
Powerful lesson: Take what you have, not what you lack or what you lost, and give it to God to amplify!
Sometimes I really dont want to watch your videos. Why? Because it challenges me to be more loving, more Christian. Thank you Bp Barron. Your words are very timely for me. God bless you too.
Thank you so much Bishop Robert Barron.
God is revealing the supernatural laws that can be made operational in this world of ours for our advantage. For this we need to trust in Gods Word
wow! Bishop Barron explains it so simple yet so deep and easy to understand. Thanks!!!

Hello fellow Catholics .. has anyone had any apparition from our blessed mother. pls share with me
EXACTLY what I needed to hear right now. Praise the LORD! And thank you Bishop Barron!
I have a son going through the same issues as far as work and also with a more minor medical issue. Just know that you can make it through keep pushing never give up hope, trust in Christ seek his will. As an aside I am reading a tremendous book called “He Leadeth Me “ I recommend you read it’s inspiring and can help make you find purpose during these tough times your going through. God bless you and all in similar situations.
I am single no wife or children something made me to listen to you this morning yes I lost everything but there have been people that been helping me and I gave the only position that I have was my father watch to my cousin it's so funny that this surmont reflects on me this Sunday
Thank you, Thank you , THANK YOU 🙏
Many tks Bishop Barron.......Your words to trust in God ...increases our will to do so. I dont hear you so often these days and when I do get the chance to listen to your preaching, I feel each time that you have sent me a lovely prayer to God!!

I sure hope you're right, Bishop Barron 🙏 Please, pray for all of us who watch your videos.
And also with you Bishop Baron, Peace be with you
Thank God for having me stumble upon Word on Fire. May God keep you, Bishop Barron!
And so, my tortuously slow Damascene conversion continues. I'm not quite there, yet. But BB's sermons help a lot.
If your conversion seems slow, it may be better to think of it as a 'road to Emmaus' thing rather than a 'road to Damascus' thing. It's all in Luke 24, and has helped me a lot in my own journey.
@@Hellyers thanks, friend. I'll seek it out.
Dear building better world's pray to the holy spirit to enlighten and open your spiritual eyes and soften your heart. I pray the holy spirit will lead you into all truth.
