I've heard a lot of peoples undoing is the crowds at the beginning. I think people think they'll be for the first km or so, but they go on for hours. Thankyou for sharing this video, very inspirational!
May I ask what happened? you were looking strong! I'm glad to hear that despite the DNF you enjoyed the race. Best of luck to you, and good work for putting yourself out there and giving your best.
Thanks! It was a mix of a couple of things that made it rough, but the main issue were my quads blew out about 25 miles in. I could barely walk the downhills. Which was surprising as I trained in the mountains, a lot. Other issues (though manageable): barely any sleep / jetlagged going into the race. Heat / Hydration. Nausea. Definitely went out too hard for the first 10k but the crowds were just too amazing 😅
