Sorry I did not understand. You meant just purchased new TPMS sensors then fitted them and car did recognized sensors(relearned ) through driving ? It's really matter for me . Just bought set of 4 and need to do the same job. Thanks for uploading such a this footage.
I live in Minnesota and own a 2012 ML350 4Matic. I have 2 sets of wheels with tires, all season and winter tire sets. Both have separate TPMS on them. Costco tire center refuses to honor the rotation and wheel balance policy for the winter and summer change although the wheel and tire set was bought from them saying it’s more of a luxury than maintenance when actually it’s the same service that’s done on the tires. I have decided to change the sets myself but should I set the TPMS again for the tire that is installed or once it’s set would the SUV automatically connect each time I install the set? Costco set the TPMS the first time winter change only since I paid for the service when I bought the tires but come next summer I will need to change it myself.
Resetting the TPMS to another set of sensors is very easy in the Mercedes. The only issue is the amount of time that has to pass by. The owners manual says that 20 minutes has to pass but my experience has been closer to 25-30 minutes of driving. Yea. Putting on winter tires, is seperate from rotation. Also, people make mistakes if you were told something different.
Did it work? Just swapped wheels between the one I'm selling and the one I'm keeping and I have the infamous message on the dashboard that I have no TPMS
so this means when im getting new wheels whith new sensor then they will connect to the car without programming ? and how does the car know if i mounted summer or winter tires?
That is the beauty of it. If you have TPM Sensors on all of 8 your wheels, then, when you switch from one set to another you can have the display read from the TPMS's that are on the vehicle.
No, it is not that simple. You have to get the TPMS sensors for your car, then someone have to program it into your model. Then once it's program, you do THIS step to make the car learn it...can't just buy TPMS off the lot and do this. This uploader needs to be clearer..
For this car, W220, any TPMS of the correct frequency can be added to the vehicle by the owner as shown in the video. MB Star or any other external devices are not necessary.
TheNoobComment I have a 2013 C250 and I just had a new sensor put it wheel because it kept loosing air. How do I know if they did that step? What happens if they didn’t? It was not a Mercedes dealership so I don’t know if they knew to do that or not.

Your Welcome. Glad to have helped.

Can you install universal TPMS sensors on a 2006 W220? Since I'm not able to reactivate the tire pressure monitor.
Yes you can. No problem. Just confirm the frequency. 315 or 433MHz.
@@A_Renaissance_Man Thanks! I got some universal ones installed at Discount Tire and they are working as expected!
@@sanursikdar4363 Which brand did you go with?
I think they got wiser with newer models and they want money for the now necessary relearning procedure.
This method does not work on a cla250. FYI you most likely need a tpms activation tool to do this. I ordered mine so we will see if it works.

Do you know what years of Mercedes this will work on?
2001-2006 S-Class
@@A_Renaissance_Man what about an 09’ s550?
Hi how about the e class w212 model.
If TPMS was a factory option then they can be added.
@@A_Renaissance_Man I was planning to buy another set of wheels and set of tpms. My question is do i need to program a new set of tpms. Thanks
What Frequency is the Mercedes sensor ? USA
USA : 433 MHz
