I think that the frozen Ramsey food is not that weird. There's a difference between you serving frozen food at a restaurant, and you eating it at home. I don't think anyone will call you a failure for, I don't know, using frozen meat for your at home meatballs with pasta.
I think there are a few prepared foods that would be allowed in Hell's Kitchen because of time constraints. Wasabi, and Soy sauce being the best examples. Soy sauce like a number of products is made from soy beans and wasabi comes from horseradish, the only Kim Chee, will have a quick pickle.
Wasabi in the states is made of horse radish, with some restaurants having the real deal, the issue with authentic Wasabi is that it's flavour degrades quickly, in like 30 minutes it'll run out of flavour, it's why it's prepped and served right as the order goes out.
I will never understand why the show stock canned, frozen and premade ingredients in the pantrt that the contestants aren't allowed to use. I get it when they have challenges where they shop at a store but their in house challenges are all done right there. They do the same thing with the challenges on master chef and it makes no sense. If premade pasta isn't allowed DON'T STOCK PREMADE PASTA 🤷🏾♀️. That seems like a waste of space and ingredients, they could just put allowed ingredients in those slots.
Working at Walmart I saw the frozen Gordon Ramsay meals when they first came in and immediately tried the fish and chips and ngl it was the best frozen food I’ve had But very small portions
@@FilmTravelerr bro frozen food that's meant to eat at home surely has more leniency than a high class restaurant. every other youtuber even has factor sponsors.
I dare someone on HK to use Ramsey's ready meals in a dish 😂. Still. I stand by him, he's right though, frozen doesn't belong in a high class restaurant, but in the home it's all good.
When it comes to canned tomatoes they are not always the same. For example: they typical canned tomatoes in the grocery store are hydroponically grown crap that taste like wet cardboard, but compared to genuine San marzano tomatoes, there is a definite difference in quality. The reason being the tomatoes themselves, but also San Marzano tomatoes are in lined cans to prevent that tinny taste. Glass jars have the same effect, and granmothers the world over....including Italy....often use this practice.
I've actually tried one of his frozen meals. It was the fish and chips one. It was surprisingly good and didn't taste like other frozen meals. The fish actually tasted like fish, not the other white mush you get from other brands
I think when it comes to Gordon he mainly gets mad when someone tries to advertise made fresh daily food when in reality it was frozen and by definition not made fresh
I've tried his frozen fish and chips, Shephard Pie, and his lasagna. All 3 were well made, though a little bland, in my opinion. Would do the Shephard pie again, though.
Because frozen at home and a restaurant is two different things. He provides high quality frozen meals for home use but you don't go to a restaurant to eat frozen food
I think it makes sense he made frozen food you can do at home because he already made food for Singapore airline and its more don’t use frozen food at restaurant at home it okay
i saw a video of gorden cooking grilled cheese and the cheese was to thick and the bread was also to thick and the cheese wasnt even melted sure he used fancy cheese but he should know that grilled cheese usually has melted cheese in it but maybe they do it different in the fancy resturants lol idk

If using packaged or canned foods isn't acceptable why does the Hell's Kitchen pantry have those items then

I wondered the same thing. How did that rotten crab even get into the kitchen in the first place??
Being left out makes it go off, they probably prepped it and didn't refrigerate it after
There is certain dishes that work frozen to microwave, just don't think frozen fish and chips is one of them, just get a fryer and use that.

You can't serve that. It's only 119.
Gordon Ramsay shilling frozen meals feels like the posthumous disgrace of the chef in Pixar's Ratatouille...

I don't understand. What dish was banned?
Why do they have boxed, frozen, canned, packaged foods in the kitchen if Chef doesn't want it?
It may not be banned, but Antonia's Mardi Gras Gumbo should be banned.
To be honest the Wellington Bites and Crab Cakes are pretty good for something frozen!
I can’t wait for someone to use Ramsey’s brand of frozen food as an ingredient
Omg Gordon Ramsay fresh frozen meals. He took Sebastian's idea of frozen food.

@@FilmTravelerr Mike and Monique have one thing in common.
They work at a grocery store.
Why would there be any canned products in the pantry, other than to catch someone trying to short cut
I mean, dried pasta is better than fresh pasta anyways.
(And Mike's tortellini was the worst of both worlds. Storebought non-dried pasta)
my dad tried the lasagna and the mac and cheese and he didn't like either of them. said they were bland and rubbery.
