Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.
Check your local regulations, as each state and territory is different, before you travel into or though NP with your dog. Here is the Parks Victoria website for those of you wishing to read up on Victoria's laws 👉 www.parks.vic....
Props to your camera person for getting lots of interesting shots. They're the unsung hero of these videos.
He'll yeah buddy
Camera man was on point with this vid
He needs a raise
That tree root with the attached rock and dirt looked interesting...
Fern's gonna learn how to fly soon with those ears. Watch out, coming in HOT!
What a great day on the creek, finding a good time
13:38 minutes in and that leach is still hanging on for dear life 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍
At least your finding it. Been a year and 3 months now, but I am happy just to get out in the bush to see the wild life. The smell of the bush is wonderful too.
You like the smell of bush....🤔
I'm waiting for him to one day say nuggets? and then flip out as there's a nugget.
Any time standing in running water with your gumbies on is a good time, especially when you find gold and gems.
The nom nom sounds had me dying lmao. Good to see relaxed man!
I hear you complaining, but you know you love going home to that puppy.
Instant Flashback to my last puppy.....I feel your pain! But in the end, it is all worth it. Thanks for sharing the gold, being real, and giving us a quick glimpse of Fern, aka Sharktooth, racing around.
Our 1 year old pup has the nickname “Landshark”
Re: Light tilled soil, I've noticed ridiculous claims on tools. I picked up a replacement geologists pick recently, Estwing of course, and the bloody thing literally has warning stickers all over it. "Do not stab into eye." level stuff. Claims the pick is NOT for picking, or striking rocks, but for prying only. A pick. Isn't made for picking. Even though it claims to be hardened and tempered. I can't even with these warning labels on crap anymore.
Beautiful gold my friend. Fern is learning so much and so fast. Love your new family member.
Another great vid. Thank you. Got to say that the yabby pump vid with the distance to fall out was a super awesome vid. I loved your approach. Simply and effective. and yes, I was concered about gold falling out too. Now I am buying a yabby pump.
CHRIS, I THINK THIS IS ONE OF YOUR BETTER VIDEOS, VERY ENJOYABLE TO WATCH AND LOVE THE PAN.
Not a bad day for a quick trip. And, because of you, I give my dogs a scratch behind the ears EVERY DAY! 🐶🐶❤
It's the thrill of the chase of looking for , loaming , test pan /sample and finding/ locating a place to have fun enjoying being away from the rat race . Enjoy the peace of the scrub , sound of water flow , and the rush of seeing gold in the dish/pan . That very feeling is priceless itself, you cannot put a $$$$ value of that very feeling , even more so when you've finally located the gold itself after a whole day of searching. Chris , big congratulations mate , thoroughly enjoy watching you videos . The info and knowledge is identical to that taught to myself by my dad, who in his spare time did prospecting, fossicking and I got tolearnheaps. Great work mate , hoping you'll have continued success for the future . Cheer from Kalgoorlie Boulder western Australia.
Love your humor Chris ! Yeah, it's not so much about finding heaps of gold, but rather enjoying the day outside ! I saw that set of boulders in the background and was wondering when you were going to get at it. Nice gold mate !! Cheers !! V🤠⚒⛏👍👍👍
That crevice was kind of like a one night stand. I almost fell over laughing, great video as always, glad to see Fern is looking good.
Almost a T-shirt worthy comment.
Having a new puppy has brought out all the Dad Noises. 100% you've been making those "nom nom nom nom nom" noises at your puppy. Keep it up, puppies LOVE it. xD
43👍's up bogus prospecting thanks again for having us all along for the day
Got to love panning, always brings home the colour, unlike metal detectors, but all good fun.
Cheers, another great video.
If you decide to go back there? I would suggest sticking to that gray material that was producing the best speck count. A high banker would definitely be the way to go. and possibly an all-terrain wagon would help you pack gear in/out. Bring a long rope, a pulley, cordless drill, and spool to wind the rope on. = small portable winch.
Nice finds in this one mate. Great spot to play in 👍.
Dogs need to learn it's OK to be alone.... and furniture is NOT food!
This is less a gold prospecting video and more an audio diary of Cookie Monster declaring war on a Keebler Elf village. 8:15 "That was so much fun, me going to do it again"
yabby's, leeches and gold, got it all. lol
Hello hunter. So beautiful your adventure
Fern gets amazing traction on tiles for a pup.!!!
How funny! I was going to say even though not enough for a new car, there would probably be enough for a bag of food for Fern.😂😂
Learnt something new from you, again, Chris. At approx. 2 minutes, the rise in the bedrock! Tfs
Pssst this also falls true to the beginning and end points in gravel bars I enjoy tearing into the downstream (end) of gravel bars they are easy to cut across and find the pockets and pay streaks and follow them up.😬 shhhh don’t tell anyone
@@48thstateprospecting my lips are sealed!
PS I'm in South Australia and it's drier here than Victoria and the most accessible spots I can find, at the moment, aren't flowing. I'm not keen on venturing into them now either - way too many brown snakes.
You have come such a long ways since I first started watching you man.... you are awesome at what you do. Keep kicking ass 👏
Nice gold as always and thanks for the video Chris! Got to love puppies lol, I think she is going to be a good friend for you and Zoey.
Well spoken at the end! Your out there enjoying yourself!
hes not chillin out...hes dizzy and about to trew up lol
Puppy is adorable, great video Chris.
I drive 4.58 miles from Phoenix to kingman Arizona so I feel your pain .
Boy Howdy can you get that gold to appear in the Batea Pan .It;s so mezzmerizing, and hypnotizing.Gotta get me a metal batea so I can hear some growlers in my pan (sound large gold makes) You are so profficient at using one like the ancient miners did.Great gold Chris. David out
What a beautiful creek!
Best video by far Man I loved it the sense of humor everything and some really nice gold. and I would like to say I know you're pain! I have four kids that act like animals and make just as much mess lol keep up the good work mate.🤟👍👀
Yuck I hate leeches! Beautiful spot and some nice stuff. Looking forward to seeing the pup out with you.
Hi Chris, Another good video, very much agree with end comment about being outdoors in the creek, now that’s gold. Except for one thing ,
I HATE leeches, those little bastards. When I was a kid (long time ago) I was in a creek catching aquarium fish, when I came out I was covered in them, 10- 20 on each leg, a couple on the family jewels as well, I have not forgotten those little #@$&$#@@#$. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Getting pretty strong dude , you through that large rock across the water effortless
I used to live 5 minutes from Starvation Creek near E.W, now I live about 35 minutes from there.
2:11 the nomnomnom sounds are everything
OMG Fern is so cute. oh yeah, nice gold too... this is a gold video, right… lol
Howdy Chris, Checking in from Arizona, enjoyed the video
Glad to have you hear mate. Love your films.
If only I had a tiny bit of her energy! Love you Fern🥰
Holy Crap😁. I was just thinking before I watched this, since I too am getting a new puppy this summer, they have a mouth full of shark’s. LOL. Great video Chris, the editing was 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Much love from Oregon.
Your area looks a lot like Northern California where I dig! Thanks for another great video!
Nice creek and as always, good info. Don't fear the leech, just sprinkle some a little salt on them and they will fall off. You can also touch their tail with a lit cigarette and they fall off.
Beautiful weather and nature. Gotta love that shiney too though hehe. Rock on brother! 👊
He is so lucky to live near a gold mine the closest one to me is 3 hours away.☹️
Laughs in Louisiana ... closest one is prob 10-12 hours away I don’t honestly know the closest to the south coast of Louisiana
Australia is further
@@kraemerdustin but you are what four hours away from Crator of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas?
@@richardmckinney4963 7
@@kraemerdustin the same with me, but I am two hours from the Kiamechi River here in Oklahoma that has real fine gold.
Thankyou Chris
Camera man is on point and you're doing great with the editing. Love the videos! What's the type of shovel you used in this video. The color caught my eye and the size looks great for prospecting. I don't recall seeing that one before. 🤔
Great video u wont starve on that creek lol on the gold cheers Glenno.👍😎
Some was happy to see daddy get home 😃
Great video Chris. Full of information and fantastic video content. Loved it! Cheers
That gray material you checked is glacier deposit. That means it's never been touched and there could be good consist gold there. Just because there's iron doesn't mean there's gold in that part of the creek.
Good info bro!
Not that I dont believe you but how can you tell its glacial til
@@chrisfrench2019 I have 11 plus years of gold prospecting experience and I have learned from the best here in colorado. We have the richest square mile of gold in the world in Central city colorado.
@@VoGusProspecting thank you Chris.
@@highaltituderc7753 I was just curious on how you knew I'm a beginner so was going to make sure I kept an eye out for it thank for the great info
CHRIS, sounds like you need to hire all the kids from your area to come over and "puppy"sit FERN,, that way you tire out the kids and you tire out FERN!! that was BEAUTIFUL gold, them pieces are boulders compared to the specks i have found,,
Great video as always .bigger stuff than mustard pit
Extend my thanks to Zoe for letting you get out on the creek and make a video for us! I get the feeling you found a bit more than you thought you would and that looked like an amazing day! The puppy is very cute and I imagine is a bundle of unstoppable energy - I can't imagine what it's like not to have an off button these days! 😄
Good job mate 👍
Thanks 👍
That leech just wants to give you some love.
Always love watching your videos .Very creative
That clay gravel looks good
Yup nothing grounds your mind like a day prospecting thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏻👊🏻 p.s. to your camera man I saw the root ball was that a poke at me😂😂 😳
I literally just noticed that the spot under it might be worth digging around ps no poke at you :)
Awesome vid mate, I did hear you say it was a fair hike in. But seeing those bigger boulders makes me wonder if its worth you carrying in a come-along an a few straps an winching some of them aside an seeing whats hiding under them. Around the 1 minute mark im sure I seen some. Awesome edit as always well done 👍
hey man so good to see you relaxed and ferns really starting grow oh and nice gold lol
Hitting the good stuff, mate!! Got a lead on some private property today to try detecting on :)
Wow! I got in early! Hey Chris, I would love to go panning in Aus with you, or take you panning on some of my claims here in Alaska some time!
Great video! Hey I can you please do the turbopan? I'm curious on how well it works
Just got the river for the first time this year! Ice finally broke up here in Colorado! Took my sluice to test it out, need to hone that sucker in! Still got a nice ribbon of color today.
Man the chunky stuff really weighs up!
Looks like a fun day! Can't wait for more adventures with the new pup ⛏
Nice creek Chris
When you see the video I took picking up 20 mesh and even some 4 mesh pickers with a yabby pump you're going to want to go back and re-pump every creek ever. :O I'll upload it as soon as I get within decent internet connectivity land. It's shocking. I did about a dozen takes, and tried to perfectly match the speed you used on the video I commented on originally. I put about 3 grams of materials in a bucket with mixed gravels. No 3 gram giant nuggets, and not pure gold with nothing to frustrate it. And guess what dropped out almost all within the first two inches of the bucket? Almost all the gold. The only thing that made it to the pan was gravel. I also inhaled and swallowed a 0.2 g picker but ... let's not talk about that. I was trying to control the conditions of the experiment to too extreme a degree and test suction levels on different shaped gold flakes. I ... am totally not going to pan out my poop. But anyone else is welcome to. I'll be leaving it at Hill End. >_>
Basically the second you see water dropping out of the nozzle is when gold starts to fall out. My earlier assumption that surface area may have more effect than mass was wrong, shape also has significant effect. Flatter material landed literally within an inch or two of the bucket, where as fatter material made it almost a foot. Very little made it to the two foot mark. And only one big whopping picker made it near the pan but only gravel (iron stone and quartz) made it into NEAR the pan because I literally stopped and gave up an inch before the pan seeing all the gold had already discharged.
Which makes me wonder about super fines. I didn't have any on hand to test with. Nor did I have anything over a quarter inch. I actually surprised myself at how bad the pump is, admittedly it might just be my pump (Big W bait pump, the more expensive one not the cheapo, about the same size as yours) or it might be because I'm twice your age and can't move as fast, but anyway I'll throw the video up for you to check out, would love your opinion. I'm also talking to a few academics in fluid dynamics because I really want to know WHAT forces are at play in a big monker of 3 grams staying in the bait pump for days while tiny bits are dropping out like they're depleted uranium rounds on an Apache.
Edit: One thing I DID note that made a difference was if I began to raise the bait pump BEFORE completion of the power stroke, raising it off the floor when I still had 4 or so inches of pump left to suck out gave me the best hang time. But one minor flub on the lift and I blew the entire load all over the floor. I'll probably upload the worst example, not because it 'proves my point' but rather it shows how diametrically opposed smaller materials seem to be to being moved compared to that whopping great nugget you had. THAT is what is most interesting to me. Why is there such a difference? That said I've never run a naked bait pump before, always had a PVC home made nozzle on it so I can trap materials and basically suck in three or four times before I need to empty the barrel. Or just jiggle it enough to let it stratify and continue whilst letting the light stuff fall out as I go.
Thats a mint plant at 8:32 interesting seems alot like Oregon mate.
Absolutely love the sound effects and the color of the gold is so bright and pretty ! Not to bad for a day bud !
Need more Fern. Must have more Fern. Thanks for the gold video too. Just sayin.
Love that creek🤟
VERY cute puppy 🐶
Man get that shiney.
My pup is 9 months old and weighs 136 lbs or 61.68 kilograms
You need to teach that snuffer bottle to not talk with its mouth full. Remember your manners,
Love MOM

I'd like to know what they are/mean...
Hi mr Guss how u doing love ur show i will keep on watching
Thank you, I will
Some pretty chunky bits in there😁
Try nylan stockings, leeches can't penetrate them. I prefer pink ones lol
1 minute grrrr slo close!
All that puppy stuff pays off eventually, hang in there.
Mate this was fun to watch!!😂 your mood seemed somewhat lighter
Fern!😎what a cool name. I wonder is that blue sludgy clay that seems to be the carrier material is decomposed bedrock with quartz stringers in it?
Was gonna look up there. Sad story behind that too
enjoy as always i was thinking a new toy for fern
Always love watching you search for the booger sugar 😉
Great to see you getting some creek therapy.
Me to nearest gold mine to me is in North Carolina time in South Carolina I'm going to try some creeks and rivers by me gold is where you find it
