- At the end of the 1996 Pontiac Excitement 400, Bobby Hamilton got together with John Andretti. Hamilton bumped Andretti out of the way heading to the last lap. Hamilton finished 6th and Andretti finished 12th. Andretti was upset at Hamilton and showed his displeasure on the cooldown lap, bumping Hamilton. Hamilton then brake-checked him and stopped on the track. Kyle Petty stopped to check on things. Apparently, this was a rivalry that was brewing for a while according to Hamilton.
One of Bobby Hamilton's best quotes: "Pretty day out today, so I got out and was going to talk about the weather. But he took off to the garage. I don't know what his hurry was."

Interesting. Never really seen John Andretti do that before
An interesting rivalry considering Andretti would be next in line to drive the 43 car.
They’re both racing upstairs now 🏁
Very charming diffusion by Hamilton

Came into that race fresh off the deal at Rockingham with Earnhardt, called him a dirty driver. Bulldozes John at Richmond & calls that just racin...
