I know this is an older video, but it was the most helpful to me out of the dozen or so that I watched today. Due to a recent home and job move, I don't have a close archery shop anymore. This video was a huge help.
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Otis Aldo I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Nock points are good between your D-loop even for hunting applications. Should anything happen to your D-loop that you need to replace it in the field, you’ll always have an accurate nocking point. Without it, you might install the D-loop to high or to low.
Thanks, you make it look easy and u used a tripod so the video is not jumping all over the place and some good tips on why certain things should be done.
Same, mine might not look the prettiest, but it functions as I tied it to a cheap 5 lb pull kids bow for practice. The loop didn't break. Gonna take it to an expert tomorrow and see what he thinks and maybe he can give me some pointers if it needs any adjustments. Right now my loop slides a little and idk if that is normal or not even though I pulled on it hard to tighten it.
The knots or opposite of one another, not sure I like that. If it's tightened proper i haven't had any rotating..great video tho, needed a refresher and this video shows everything in great detail. Thumbs up.
question...if your bow string is notched..where does the loop go--above below or in the middle..its a used bow didnt have one installed..thanks for any help..great vid
Thanks for the info. I have a question. Took my brand new bow to the shop had a D-LOOP and a peep put on but I shot it 3 times and the string turned . Now my D loop is turn to the inside of the bow and my peep sight not open. :(
@EthanDarke i believe you could but id leave question 1 to a pro ha , but no i dont think it will damage your bow sting if you dont use one , unless you are usin a relase i would recommend you using the loop, if your not then no i dont think so , i have two bows and ive never used a loop ive always just used my hands ha and nothings really happend to my strings.
I have bin using a aluminum trunoc but it is heavy and makes noise i want to try this for the lighter weight but im nervous. Do they ever break or come untied and do they stay in one spot on the string or do i always have to check my nocpoint?
1. i would imagine that any cord that has the tensil strength could be used however some work better than others 2. no it isn't necessary but it does help the longevity of the string serving which is what protects your actual bow string from damage
Usually dont use d loop for recurve, you usually just use fingers as your release, you usually just tie in nocking points, and you would use a bow square to find where to put nocking points, you can find bow square for 10 bucks on ebay, but if you really wanted to i guess you could use d loop just not recommended
Noob question, but How do I find the correct place to put it? I'v only been doing archery for a month so I'm still not sure how to properly have my arrow in the correct place.Any Help?
Why leave space inside the loop for the nock to wiggle? My first impulse would be to make it fit the nock without any space to move around for a precise shot.
the answer I was given was "the d loop will pinch the nock at full draw" So if ya start with the d loop already touching both sides of the nock when its at rest, the d loop could cause the arrow to raise or lower at full draw.

Is it just 550 paracord?
No.
Straightforward and actually close-up of what you're doing. Great vid, helped a lot!
For some reason this is the only video out there that I can follow perfectly on how to do it. Thanks
Great video, thanks for taking the time to help us new guys - most appreciated. Tim & Connor, killing one hay bale at a time.
Thanks for this video.. I have watched it 20 times. But now I can tie in my loop without watching this now. Thanks again.
This help me a lot! Thanks man! No need to go to the archery shop to get it fitted, this saved me a fair bit of money!
A great demo on this knot. Many thanks!
Awesome stuff from never owning a Bow and smashing out my 1st D Loop thank to your video Zach. Many Thanks squire
Thanks a lot man! Just tied my first d-loop! It truly was a great moment as it also reinforced my faith in my own manual skills :)

@Nickolas Connor happy to help =)
An old video, but one the most detailed with the close up camera work. Well done man !!
still the best d-loop video on youtube
I agree with ya!! 🤝
Yes sir the best by far!! Thanks buddy
No look at the bowmar video. It shows why this short d loop can hurt accuracy
Simple & straight forth.
Hand's down
Great video!!!! Best one I've found to follow nice and simple thanks again

I'm amazed these loops stay put, thx for the demo !!
Basically 2 clinch/half hitch knots! Try a polymer knot on ur fishing lures and you’ll be amazed how that works also
Thanks, you make it look easy and u used a tripod so the video is not jumping all over
the place and some good tips on why certain things should be done.
Thank you worked perfectly and looks great with the new d-loop on on my bow. have a great day!
Thank you man. I'm trying to get my daughter's new bow setup and dumb me tried to change it instead of leaving it alone. Your video saved my tail!
Thank you, just retied mine using this instruction.
Fantastic demo video. Thanks for uploading.
Awesome man!!! Thanks for making that video!! That was a good qualt vid

nice and easy to follow. nice close up. great video and helped a bunch
No BS and to the point great job gotta love it
Excellent demonstration. Thank you
The best video how to tie a D-Loop!
Preferred material for making the loop?
Would parachord work?
Good video... BUT you didn't finish by showing how to tighten it as to prevent the loop from slipping (which is bad, bad, bad)....
They're effectively self-cinching as it's a pair of two-loop prussics. No rocket science here.
Thanks, perfect video for this application. Cheers!
Thanks. Exactly what I needed
Best 9n UA-cam by far
Great work, thanks Zach
Good job, easy to see and overstand, thanks.
Thank you Zach just done mine.
Very well shown and explained. Thanks for the great video! :)
i got some string for bow loops at walmart the instructions suck this is way better you just got a thumbs up and like
Nailed it first try.... thank ya man..!!!!

Thanks man! Made my day
Awesome, thank-you for the info.
Hello just one tip a d loop that is really short can cause tork on the string if any movement is applied before you shoot.
Thank you a lot. I wasn't able to do d loops!
Thanks for the video got it done quick now i can target pratice with my bow
Grace has you I succeeded on my bow and thank you.Sorry if I made some faults of language I am French.Good bye and thanks you.
very helpful video, thanks man 👍
Well Done! 👍🏾
thanks man, I finally know how to do this!
The knots or opposite of one another, not sure I like that. If it's tightened proper i haven't had any rotating..great video tho, needed a refresher and this video shows everything in great detail. Thumbs up.
Seriously THANK YOU. 🏹🤠👍
question...if your bow string is notched..where does the loop go--above below or in the middle..its a used bow didnt have one installed..thanks for any help..great vid
Nice, thank you for the clear info.

Clear and precise thank you.
Thanks for the info.
I have a question. Took my brand new bow to the shop had a D-LOOP and a peep put on but I shot it 3 times and the string turned . Now my D loop is turn to the inside of the bow and my peep sight not open. :(
Excellent video
Very informative and helpful thanks I just got the D loop done on my new bow strings as I was watching the video 😊👍
Thank you for this sir
Is their a particular way you need to rotate your knots say if your a right handed or left handed?
Thanks ! Very helpful !
I just bought my first bow. What kind of cord do you use?
Thanks for the help
Thanks I just tied my first D loop thanks 2 u serous thanks
Thank you for the vid
Always amazing me the little burnt mushroom bit holds under all that pressure
lol thanks, great video guy i think im going to tie mine off tho just mushrooming it makes me nervous.
@EthanDarke i believe you could but id leave question 1 to a pro ha , but no i dont think it will damage your bow sting if you dont use one , unless you are usin a relase i would recommend you using the loop, if your not then no i dont think so , i have two bows and ive never used a loop ive always just used my hands ha and nothings really happend to my strings.
thanks a bunch this help me get this loop on right very good
I have bin using a aluminum trunoc but it is heavy and makes noise i want to try this for the lighter weight but im nervous. Do they ever break or come untied and do they stay in one spot on the string or do i always have to check my nocpoint?
Why are half hitche knots used in stead of clinch knots which tighten easier and stay tight better than half hitches?
Nice video!
1. i would imagine that any cord that has the tensil strength could be used however some work better than others
2. no it isn't necessary but it does help the longevity of the string serving which is what protects your actual bow string from damage
Been using Super Loop by Cir-Cut. Nothing special, and works fine for me. Pretty easy to find.
Thank you!!!👍
Would this work for a recurve bow? How would I know where to place the d loop?
Usually dont use d loop for recurve, you usually just use fingers as your release, you usually just tie in nocking points, and you would use a bow square to find where to put nocking points, you can find bow square for 10 bucks on ebay, but if you really wanted to i guess you could use d loop just not recommended
@@ericb6390 I use a compound with a trigger release. I find that with a d loop u can pull more resistance.
Muito bom o video, não deixa duvidas de como vares o D-Loop
Well done, thanks
Very helpful thanks
It didn’t work for me but atleast my bow didn’t break looking at the comments are really good so I probley messed my knot up so good job man
Hi, zach I enjoyed your video. Would you know where I could purchase a 1mm cotton braided cord of 80lb test or more. Vince
awesome vid,very helpfull
thx so much 8)
helped a lot thank you
Is that all it is. Lol thought you'd need to take it in to a shop. Guess I'll be buying a trigger release.
do you need a bow press? I saw from some other videos that you need a bow press? Idk tho
No. They use a bow press or bow vice to hold the bow so it’s not moving around
Awesome!
Noob question, but How do I find the correct place to put it? I'v only been doing archery for a month so I'm still not sure how to properly have my arrow in the correct place.Any Help?
What kind of cord are you using?
I like the fart when snugging it up good 😂
Thanks big help!
Excellent.
What can I use for the loop
i know the vid is som wat old but is there any specifik cord u need for thise ?
Where u get the cord from if u don’t mind me asking
good info! thanks
Saved Me Money!
Great video but my string was way smaller lol
So what is the kind of string you are using in this
Awesome!!!
Thank you
what are the benefits of having a loop do you have to re just your bow

What do you use to tie the d loop? I am new to archery,
You can go to just about any outdoors store and find them there. Like I got mine at cabelas and its literally called D-loop string.
