Dan and company, you all have really stepped up the content quality. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you! Adding TC to the channel has elevated production! -DS
I really need to be better about hitting that like button to help the algorithms. Thank you for your dedication to your craft: as a gentleman, a trainer, an archer, a hunter, and a sherpa.
Wow, thank you!
For those looking to go the "ghetto" route and not spend several hundred, you can get cable bow press. It's not nearly as nice as the Last Chance and it can be a little fiddly but it works. I have a Bowmaster g2 press. The nice thing about it is that it's portable, so it lives in my bow bag, that way if I'm at the range and need to make an adjustment I can do it right there.
....I still use the old rubber tube on my peep lol. Tried and true, works great, never have to worry about rotation. Pulls it straight every time.
I'm new to the archery game and have a new PSE. I'm getting ridiculous peep rotation. Annoying to say the least. An archery shop offered tying in the tube but I'm hoping things will work themselves out on their own as I put more arrows through it. Idk though.
@@fhpd350 my first bow was a bowtech and the stock string sucked. It would rotate 90 degrees no matter what I did.
@@fhpd350 The stock string on my PSE stinger never stopped spinning. New string seems to have solved it.
Those last chance archery presses are pricey. But after looking at it it is a very simple build, made out of square tubing and I'm going to build one and Tig weld the whole thing. Sweet video.
LOVE your vids Dude!!!! I watch every single one of them when they drop! I have my own home bow shop too and I have been tracking what you are doing and it is AWESOME! Keep up the great work, your passion really shows!!!! You seem like you would be FUN to hang around with and have a long range day to chat and BS around! Good Peepz!!!
Thanks Brian - Archery peeps are my peeps -DS
It is amazing some of the simples things we can learn by just watching !!! Thanks
I haven’t even bought my first bow yet (looking at the Hoyt Torrey XT) but I’ve watched a bunch of your vids. Sub’d. Cheers from Wake county, NC.
Welcome aboard!
Great tip and very helpful.
The real quick cheat slide your string silencers a bit. Just make sure they stay clear of your cams. Works way better than twisting the D-loop and no press required. If that won't get it you need to throw in a twist.
Cool - thanks for the info!
Love this channel, just subscribed and a little bit of constructive criticism. If youre ganna tell people to press their bow and add twists to their strings, you should include like what the twists do and what direction. Like if you have left or right peep twist. Do you need to twist your strings left or right. Other than that this channel is great dude. Keep growing !
Yeah that is constructive - thanks for the sub
@@ElkShape can you do that please
These guys from Podium are the best
Keep it coming! Love the grind and passion. I appreciate your knowledge!!
You got it! -DS
So in a 5 second summary....take it to a professional?
Nice Tip Dan as it Peep twist is something that is gonna happen over time. Props on your video productions, they're SOLID!
thank you - we're trying hard... TC
Two questions, what do you think about using a small piece of d loop material in string above peep and moving that up or down to realign peep or secondly a peep tuner button
Great take on peep twist, thanks for the info.!!
thanks for the tip, great short and sweet.
I tend to have the most problems with Zebra strings with peep rotation. I just got a knew bow and im fighting it right now
Awesome tip was thinking about this the other day and how to sort it
Awesome man! -DS
Easier fix - I use Bowjax SlipJax sting silencers. They are wedged between the two main strands of the bow string on both the top and bottom. As the string breaks in and the peep rotates a little, you simply slide the sting silencers a tiny amount to realign. An archery shop tech taught me this little trick, & it works perfectly. I had been using SlipJax silencers for a very long time, but never thought of using them to align my peep. Lining my peep back up takes about 10-15 seconds now. Once I align it again, it stays in line for a very long time, too! I've had the same SlipJax string silencers on my box since 2013 (same ones on the third string). Thus, they are durable & sliding them doesn't damage them.
Great info thanks my peep has been driving me crazy. This helped a bunch👍
Glad to hear it
Your the man Dan
Great content fellas keep it up
To comment on your point of looking at the target or the pin, I didn't pay any attention to this until about a couple months ago and it kind of hit me, im looking at the target and my pin is floating over my target. Trust your float and pull through your release. At least that's what I've been doing
Sorry mate, but your video is annoyingly too dark, can you brighten it up some please! Thanks.
Today were talking about peeps... and i dont mean the guy next door..... hahaha
Have you experimented with clarifiers or verifiera any? Whats your opinion?
Freaking awesome buddy
Everybody talks crap about the zebra string the mathews comes with. Truth be told they all stretch. It’s gonna happen. After it’s stretched and set I’ve never had any problems with the zebra string. After so many arrows it’s set and I’m good. Anyway lol!! Tim get a mathews!!
Dan's working on me Rueben - until then, my realmx is still slinging true :) - TC
When you make your twist are you twisting them to tighten the cable, loosen the cable, or are you twisting them both the same direction as the peep needs to be turned?
instablaster...
I have to twist my string before I load to see thru peep a arrow ,kinda annoying
Sure is
I have over 1K shots on my 28 and the Zebra string keeps rotating 🤦🏻♂️ I’m definitely getting some custom strings if it keeps happening.
it happens.. we like custom
I’m struggling w the same w Zebra. 1st year was fine then the twist began and won’t stop. Had it restrung. Still twisting even after pressing. Boo!
Good tip!
Line your D-loop up with the peep and it'll help it draw back lined up more often then not. As much as I don't miss the little rubber tubes they did a fairly good job of keeping your peep coming back lined up.
I love the little rubber tube peeps have them on several of my Bows, I also have a couple without.
You do know the rubber tube and peep are still on the market ?
@@cericson3426same here , I don’t use them in every bow but once my strings get a little older I’ll add it just to get another couple years out of the strings , probably would t be the best option for fixed head guys but shooting mechanical it’s not a big deal with timing being off a smidge
Amazing!!!!!
Thank you! Cheers! -DS
Good stuff, thanks!
Glad you liked it! -DS
Great video 👌
Lol your almost at 100k now 72,000 I know ppl just making a point
Do you twist both ends of the string to the side that you want the peep to go, or twist both ends of the string to the side that the peep is rotating?
Wouldn't putting turns in your string change cam timing?
Nope it’s good
Great video and as always, great content. It just so happens I'm getting a press from LCA for Fathers day, and I cant wait to give my factory 😞 string a half twist or more. My peep rotation is ridiculous, and VERY annoying.
So annoying... we've all been there - tC
Loving the content and subscribed.
I recently stumbled across your channel as I'm getting back into archery after a break for a year and a half, gotta blow the dust off my old bowtech insanity and put some arrows through it! Keep up the good work!
A bow press was very intimidating until I saw this video thanks a lot my dude
it's doable!
Pretty gabby. Many ways to address peep twist. Also! Custom strings are great if they know how to make good strings. The next thing to knowing how is to do each step day in and day out. Lots of food material to make strings. The process to build and human error " ignorance " or " work ethics " is a huge factor. Also learning then hiring another person is another issue. Do they have the same " GAF" as the guy pumping his products?
typically happens depending how the serving is wrapped. Too tight causes a string twist underneath the serving. Tip: serve with tension without allowing twist underneath and in the same direction as the string twist. Any material can be made to stay straight. It really is how it was made.
Will you have to rewrap your dloop
I know this is an old video but here goes. My peep is slightly turned to the left with my new string. I always shoot about 50 arrows before installing the peep but i did not this time. I always see videos saying to put the bow in a press and rotate the string a half of a turn at the bottom to fine tune a close to correct peep. I pulled my bow back and had my wife twist the string a quarter turn as I was letting down. It worked and has held up for 50 to 60 shots. Is this not the equivalent of twisting the string 1/2 turn while on a press?
You can always carry a portable press like the one from synonm that works off of rope pulling instead of turning a handle if it becomes an issue in the field.
A person can get away with using this press as a dedicated press.
What do you think is alot of arrows I'm around 2000 24 arrows a day 90 days had small rotation but got it fixed not bragging btw just wondering and though a number would good to help judge
A few hundred in my estimation - you good homie! -DS
Thanks for the help.
I just had the pro shop install a new string on my V3 27", and the peep turns on my drawback.
Really good information. Lots to think about. Hate peep twist! Thanks
To what degree will doing this affect the tune of my bow? I've been shooting despite the little rotation (not from stretch in the 400 arrow range cause I'm actually about 10k in, but rather a redone center serving). Reason I ask is cause I just tuned the bow money and don't have a ton of time to retune with grad school keeping me busy.
Typically doesn't.. but always worth shooting through paper to check - TC
I've seen people put a small piece of D loop matl. in the string and slide it slightly up or down to straighten the peep. Does that work? I have gas strings and yes they do stretch very little but the do. Truthfully I'm probably do for a new set.
Not sure - interesting tip though.. we'll investigate 🤘
Question, the last time I shot, I heard a pop, and now my peep is sideways when I draw. Any clue what happened? It was a new bow with the factory string (diamond brand). I had shot around 75 - 100 arrows when it happened. A pro shop set it up for me, assuming I'll need to take it back to get it fixed
That's definitely a pro shop question.. Sounds like something came off, hard to know
I have a different problem third time it’s happened this week but my peep sight keeps coming out of my string

Thanks G
Never made sense to me when guys say the blur out the pin and aim for a spot on their target. How do you aim for it if you dont see the pin? Lol
Thanks man. got a new sub out of me for this video. Getting ready for West Texas Aoudad in March.
Word!!
Missed a good buck last day of the season last year because of peep rotation. Pissed me off
Perfect timing. I’m having trouble with prep twist now. Thanks for the advice.
of course - thanks for watching
I got to say and maybe it's because I'm outdated been bow hunting for about 40 years I prefer the peeps with the tubing because they are always straight. (If you go on a trip just make sure you always have some extra tubing in your pack)
I have bows both ways and inevitably the non tubed peeps end up crooked at the most inopportune moment.
Question? When adjusting the peep rotation is it just the nearest cam that gets the twist or both?
I want a press. Although being quote new to archery I like going to the pro shop I learn something new every time I go.
definitely
No way!!! ZEBRA ARE TOPS😂 in price. 😂
Peeps I immediately thought of the Easter candy
Nice thx for the information.....
I'm just dealing with it
fix that sucker - TC
I see a Bowmar nose button!
Always enjoy your videos. Greetings from new Zealand
GREETINGS!

Roque bowstrings
My peep is out dated. Need to upgrade the old Mathews.
Did you just call me 'an elk shaped person' !?! I resemble that remark... wait, resent... I resent that remark!! 😂🤣
Great vid, thanks from Australia!
I’ve been battling this since camp 2.0. Looks like it’s time for a trip to the shop.
Yessir!
Just seen this one man ive been tryin to watch all your stuff love watchin your stuff dan
Thank you!
My Mathews VXR strings have not moved in close to 1000 shots. I think waiting until you need new string is just fine. To drop other $200 on new custom string out of the box is not necessary. I think $200 on a archery lesson is money better spent.
Twisting the string change your draw length.Take strands and move them on the peep instead.
I have my hamskea peep setup centered when I draw with the sight set at 40 yards. When I set my sight at 10 yards or 70+ yards the peep is no longer centered on my scope housing. From your videos I’ve seen you frequently shooting at variable distances out to 100+ yards. Is your peep centered when you’re shooting very short or very long distances?
After watching multiple multiple videos on the new V3 x and your heavily phrased hamski rest specifically the epsilon I went to my local shop but a bowl ask them to put on the hamski rest and they told me it will not fit with the detachable quiver. At that point I had to settle for the qad, after looking at multiple videos I found one that you had to add spacers and you used the side mount spot hog site I believe or you cut your dovetail off. I wish you would have mentioned that it would not work with the detachable quiver I would not have put so much time so much time into researching the hamski as much as I did. I do appreciate most of your video content
Hey, Like you videos. looking for more
I blur the target and focus on my pin my mind knows where to aim by doing this two things halon my pin really sits still and if I focus on target and not pin my pin will tend to float below the target not saying that’s right or wrong just what I have found works for me
a lil tip that i did in the field that a friend showed me was to take a toothpick if u happen to have one,,,insert it thru the string below the peep then very slightly slide it up or down and it will slightly move the twists in the string and align your peep..you of course cut or break off the excess toothpick and its just a quick fix in the field and only for a very small amount of peep rotation but it def works
what is an "amateur pro shop" jk i know what you mean. this video was very helpful that you for passing along the info. i will check out last chance archery for a vise.
God bless you for the video man. Had a stock string on my bow, horrible rotation. Upgraded to ABB, still started rotating on my first day shooting. But at least Ik its a common issue
Thanks brother. Helpful video. My peep started rotating recently and it’s driving me nuts.
Holy snap. You have the exact same strings as me.. pine ad natural. Lol
Sweet. Huge fan brother.. 👏
💪💪
Hunted for years like over 15 years always used a tubed peep never had a problem with peep twist so everyone say peep tubes are for beginners so I got a new string and decided was a good time to try a peep without a tube and now what a pain in the a$$ I am constantly dealing with twist in my peep 😡 very tempted to go back to what worked .
New to archery and this video saved the day, thank you.
Thx, I appreciate the advise. Just bought new bow, was doing good, then all of a sudden my groups getting farther left of target and noticed the peep was off.
I enjoy watching the channel, even learn a few things!! Thanks!
never showed the basic twist with pliers
Fix that peep by pulling it out! Go peepless!
Thanks, I own a APA bow, never worked on it myself but I may just try that now. Only question is which way do you twist or untwist..
Thanks Dan for the peep tune and by the way peeps is Easter Candy Chicks also
peeps...
@@ElkShape Yeah look it up they are yellow marshmallow in the shape of a baby chicken sold as Easter candy for Kids called PEEP'S
Peep rotation cost me a few elk. I learned how to shoot with out it. One less thing to worry about now. DONE!!! Now to learn to shoot without a site.
Always struggle with the focus on the target concept, in the firearm world they always say to focus on the front sight
90 degrees. It's killing me 😂
Hey dan man, do you have a video of your press set up? I’m buying a lca press what would I need to set it up?
I think in the Bow Build series episode 1 -DS. PS - congrats!
Question? When adjusting the peep rotation is it just the nearest cam that gets the twist or both?
Just getting in to Bow Hunting. Thanks for the information
of course, thanks for checking out our channel
when you twist the string does it effect your sights? like will your pins be off?
