Just like the cartoon itself, it pokes fun with the superhero genre while still being an amazingly creative thing of it's own. I feel like it walked so other stuff being made into comics at the time like The Boys and Marc Miller kind of comics could run today
After three seasons, The Tick's final episode aired November 24, 1996 and was rerun from April 19 until April 26, 1997, although the Christmas episode "The Tick Loves Santa!" was repeated on December 25, 1997. The following year, in 1997, FOX began talks with Sunbow Entertainment about producing a prime time Tick special, and the possibility still exists that Fox Kids will renew the half-hour show for another season, but this never came to fruition. Comedy Central syndicated The Tick during this time from September 22, 1996 to December 27, 1999 on Sunday Evenings at 7:00pm and 11:00pm, Wednesday Nights at 9:00pm and 3:00am and Saturdays at 11:00pm, and subsequently helped make it a cult hit with adults.

I remember this 1990s cartoon. I used to watch it when I was a kid. It was shown on the TCC (The Children's Channel), BBC as a part of their children's block CBBC and RTÉ 2 in the 1990s. I always loved that superhero cartoon.

Hammy and cheesy, but satisfying at the same time.

The way they synced up Mister Mental yelling in The Tick's ear with the song's "Aaaaaaaaah!" is Chef Kiss worthy!
Agreed! It cracks me up every time!

Tick: "I've been janitor to the apocalypse and it's a comin this way." 😂Still cracks me up. Loved this show as a kid.
The Tick was the original One Punch Man. Lol
Underrated cartoon man. Should have lasted longer
Same with the HBO Spawn one.
Heard it was cancelled because the creator was taking time to make the episodes good and the studio just wanted to churn them out.
@@cledgefenrir5681 Sounds like vintage Fox Kids.

Way ahead of its time! The show was very adult oriented. It should have aired in Comedy Central.
It did show on comedy central around it's final season.
It did in the late 90s and early 2000s reruns aired on Comedy Central
I think Cartoon Network should put it in Adult Swim.
I'm convinced Fox just took three jazz scatters off the street, showed them the opening sequence and the background music, and said 'Go.'
