I think your rear mounted kit is fantastic and super stealthy, but the under hood turbo look gets me every time 😅 Awesome kit, awesome install, awesome step by step install 😉🤘
@@slow_restoration Thanks for the reply! When factoring cost and installation difficulty, which style kit would you consider to be a better option for a novice builder? I can see benefits/hurdles of both, but some real world feedback outside of a forum would be super helpful!
@@slow_restoration it’s a 2001 silverado rcsb 1500. Currently it’s a lq4/4l80, Procharged, cammed, on e85 with bolt ons until I gather a few more things to swap to turbo. I will be running the Huron speed hot side. I’ll try to post some videos of it currently, and then after the turbo swap.
Thanks, hard to say how many hours, I do a lot of these jobs around other jobs in the shop. I wouldn't say a ton though, it's been pretty straightforward so far!
Great videos Danny! I’m about to take a similar set up to the tuner. On the two turbo GMC’s were the piston rings gapped or as they came from the factory? Thanks again for all your info.
The green truck is untouched, heads have never been off. The new turbo GMC was opened up to .030 first and second. You never know till you look what they were set at. Thanks
You have no problems with the injectors what year is the truck I was looking at one, they said the best ones to get is 2004 and up what year is the best one to get.
Even though I do like the STS kit, you can't buy it anymore. With that said, the Huron Speed kit is very nice and has the potential for much more than those numbers! Being a HD you will have to modify it slightly but not that big of a deal. I had to modify my STS kit as well. I'll make a video of the completed install and power numbers soon.
Please take that x pipe off that truck. X pipe is ment to equalize pressure. With a turbo you don't want pressure at all It's creating a bottle neck. robbing hp
I think you convinced me to get this kit. At least the hot side. I’m about to boost my 6.0 also. Good work.
Can't wait for your content on this. Between you and slow_restoration I was convinced to build my 6.0 vs getting a diesel
It's a well built kit 👌

Thanks, it is nice to be able to see it when you open the hood! I would say both kits have there challenges. I'm excited to see how this performs!

I'm just ready to see a towing comparison video
Me too! As soon as we get everything finished up.
Seeing this makes me anxious to get my turbo kit on lol. Waiting for your next video already 😂
I appreciate the support, is your truck a 1500 or 2500?

What muffler is in this truck? Hope to do a turbo soon in my 6.0 3500.
Total Flow
The truck sounds good 👍. Great video Danny. How many hours do you have into installing the turbo?

Any updates on the new turbo GMC? Love the channel keep up the good work. Dying to see how that truck performs
Still at the tuner, he's running a little behind. I'll update as soon as I know.
That's definitely not Dexcool Coolant in that over flow tank..
Nope, I prefer the All makes All Models green.

This is a 2003, I think you are thinking about a Duramax. This is a 6.0 gas LQ4
What happened to this build?
I'll have a video coming out soon, a couple of issues out of my control.
How much whp you making with that kit looks amazing
Thanks, still at the tuners! Can't wait to see myself!
@@slow_restoration What’s the update on this build ? Post more videos lol
@@tonyhernanandez8285 Unbelievably, it's still at the tunners! Had some unexpected problems with the truck.
@@slow_restoration is the the truck Matt happel tuned from sloppy mechanics? 630rwhp is stellar
Hey mine is a 2500hd as well. Wondering if you'd recommend the sts rear mount or if you'd recommend the front mount? Wanting 600-700hp

You can buy sts still. Holley bought them out. And they only provide a bolt on kit for corvettes. But you can get single or twin turbo universal kits.

Yes. He needs a 4inch straight pipe
What is your exhaust setup?
There's a video on it, but it's a pair of Total Flow turbo mufflers with a Y pipe off the down pipe.
