@@armouredraptor9610 its very good for early game cause it only needs electricity unlike other turrets that need ammo you can easily put it in the frontline without making conveyers, as shown in the video 4 of them have more dps than a meltdown which is very expensive to make.
If its not that op in survival in pvp especialy hexed its very anoying cause it shoots through walls and shields and it can outrange other early game turrets.
its only drawback is it cant shoot air.
Everything is good until is used in PvP to destroy your buildings

yeah you know swarmers are way more powerful and its actually cheaper to make blast compound for ammo than use 860 power and ton of liguid for meltdowns.

Lancer got nerfed in v6, it no longer damage air target and pierce plas wall.
It got nerfed again in v7, now require titanium and deal 80% less damage to building.
That's gangsta until a wave of 200 bombers spawns and you only have Lancers
Always have a backup 2nd line of defence of whichever anti air is available on the tech tree
exactly my worst fear, we need electric aa weapons.
I remember when I figured out how strong the Lancer was on my own. I had a good source of electricity and knew that flying enemies weren't coming for a while so I built in this order; a water extractor, Lancer, hit point restoration building, Lancer, water extractor and repeated that. When you give a Lancer enough water and electricity that thing fires so fast it doesn't matter if it slightly misses because it will more than likely ruin anybody that comes towards it.
There's something wrong about shooting air enemy.
Lancer itself cant detect air enemy,but its laser does damage to air enemy.
Also,Using fuse with lancer is good combo.
The same goes to every ground to ground turret. For example ripple can damage flying units when the detected ground unit is nearby

Hrmm I like that pair Lancer with fuse while Lancer can hit ground but the laser can damage air unit while fuse can shoot both not to mention fuse can turn air unit into tiny kebab.

I love spamming Lancers in chokes. They're my go-to for anti-ground. Now if only I can get that same kind of oomph against air... (looks at fuse and cyclone) if only...

Older version of Mindustry was really unbalanced
I know this is two years old and i have no idea if they balanced these but ive noticed they have a hard time hitting faster moving targets.
"the lancer kill the eradrikator faster than the meltdown" but at 1:41 we can see that the lancer have a source of cryogenic liquid, and the meltdown is just a hydraulic pump, if you want to equalize then put them at least in equal conditions

Well now I know what to add to my desolate rift defense. Currently got a workable setup for probably up to at least wave 150,maybe 200. If lancers really that long rang I can add them to my backline!

yes i played with it in V6 compaign the lancer are over cheat because it's just a arc with silicon but with the v7 we need now titanium the only problem I have with titanium is I don''t know the exact principal region for titanium but i know a region not principal at the north of the ground zero where we can find all ressource exept thorium but this region are the neighbor of a base really hard so i chose the region who are at the nort est of the ground zero and it has the same ressource and are better so use it like a base for fuse or research or for attack other regions before capture coastline
I only don't like one thing.
It's aiming sometimes sucks, and faster and smaller enemies can easily just pass by.

If you havent seen silicon ammo + cryfluid in a salvo I suggest you check it out
silicon is worst ammunition
1. it is very important at building, and wasting it at salvo is very bad idea
2. its production is harder that graphite production, while main difference is that silicon is homing
3. *just use thorium, it is op*
when mods make it more op the real life mod adds the new best liquid and makes lancer so op
in the BE versions, lancers can't shoot through last or hit air units
Fun doesn't consider one when balancing the the lancer

The meltdown v lancer test was set up badly. He did not repair the wall for the meltdown and he did not give the meltdown cryo (he gave the lancers cryo)
check the 4 cryo lancer vs 1 cryo meltdown video, lancers still won
Use cryo on meltdown it's worth it, water is just for lesser turrets and drills
