Dude, you literally saved me hours of detective work. Shame on Sureflow for not putting these simple instructions in the manual. Thanks bro, this was driving me nuts!
Nice and professional explanation . Thanks a lot , if you could observe how much it's time or litre water tank gives you before the pump kicks again that will be helpful .
Haven’t tried measuring it, but I’d guess it’s roughly a gallon or so. It’s a two gallon accumulator tank, but it won’t drain completely before the pump kicks in. One nice thing about the accumulator tank is it helps keep flow even when the faucets aren’t wide open, and are just set to trickle. You don’t get the pump pulsing on and off.
How do you like the accumulator tank, along with the pump, setup? Does it help with the cycling on and off of the pump? And the up and down pressure in the water at the taps? Thinking about ordering one of the 2 gallon shurflo tanks that has the mounts for the pump right on top of the tank.....But I haven't run across anyone with the complete setup . Would like your input....
Hi Rick... Yeah, saw the unit with the side mount capability after we'd purchased this one. The pump was ordered separately. DEFINITELY shop around. I can't recall exact figures, but I found an online vendor for our tank that was drastically cheaper than everywhere else. Maybe they were one of those surplus places that got an odd buy and were able to sell it a lot cheaper? I'd have to dig back into my research to be sure. Performance-wise, we're really happy with the unit. Definitely helps with the pump not constantly cycling on/off, and evens out pressure to the fixtures. At some point we'll be replumbing the entire trailer, but the setup works very well with what we have currently.
I have that pump and it creates ALOT of vibration. It is mounted on foam with the rubber feet, hoses not touching, etc. Just a crazy loud pump. How do you find yours?
Hi John Boy... Sorry for the delayed reply. The pump's been pretty quiet for us. I have it secured to the top of the accumulator tank, but the tank's loose on the floor. Basically held in position by tension from all the PEX surrounding it. I may add rubber feet and secure it at some point. We also have a dinette booth that I built that surrounds the whole setup, and we have sound deadening foam squares packed in around it. Sometimes it's louder than others, but I think that may be because it's shifted around a bit. Doesn't really bug us, and we have plenty of other projects to tackle before fine-tuning the pump installation. I'll let you know if we tweak something and the sound gets quieter, though.
@@Fix-it-tony It's a nice tank and pump. Brand new Shurflo. I was using it in a hair sink indoors in a quiet space. I think these really are only meant to be buried in motorhomes or tucked away in commercial kitchens.
@@Fix-it-tony I noodled around with isolating the setup a bit, and it’s very quiet now. We’ve had the pump and accumulator tank in daily operation for three years now (we’re full timers). Works great!

Glad I could help! I figured if I was having trouble finding the info, others would as well. +1 for the hive mind! 😉

What did you pressurize your accumulator at? How many pounds of pressure I mean?

No problemo, hope it helps!

Sounds like you need a better accumulator tank.
