    Wow... It was 1 year ago today that I uploaded this video. I think it's safe to say it has been one heck of a year for all of us... With all that has happened in the world over the last year, all I can say is that I am so thankful that my friends, family and I are all safe and well. I can't believe at this point this video has almost 38,000 views and now I have 500+ subscribers!!! I had no idea that my video would have been this successful. Thank you all so much for the continued support. I can't wait to see where I'm at this time next year. Take care, and stay safe! -Mark

    Thank you for the review, I recently purchased the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT . And like you I was unsure of the body style but it grew on me fairly quick! It's a beautiful sleek truck with tons of room and storage. However, The transmission started having problems only 3 days after I purchased the truck and was in the dealers shop for 6 days to have 2 sensors and a wire harness replacement. I have had the truck back now for 3 days and so far so good( fingers crossed). Other than that misfortune I don't regret getting my new chevy truck

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  4 роки тому

      Shane Woodward That's funny how you felt the same way I did. I think the LT trims and above compliment the look better, and allow it to grow on you more. I think the reason I wasn't a huge fan of the look at first was because I saw too many of the work truck trims. I'm also happy you were able to get the sensors and wiring harness replaced. That's what warranties are for right? Good luck with the truck my friend! It seems like a solid vehicle and I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

      Nice! Erik loved his truck also. He actually ended up turning this in when his lease was up, and he got a Ram 1500 Big Horn with the mild hybrid V6 in its place. As I'm sure you know, YT doesn't always let you know that someone commented back, even if you use their tag. Anyway, I'm glad that helped! I personally wouldn't void the warranty either until it is expired. The lift can put a lot of extra stress on the CV boot, as well as the drive shaft U-joints due to them being placed at a more extreme angle then they are designed to be at. Common lifted vehicle issue. The solution to that would be portal axles which are CRAZY expensive, but very, very cool. Look them up if you would like. Those come on the Mercedes G wagon 4x4 squared I believe. Either way, thanks very much for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! -Mark

      Thank you sir! I believe I saw you comment on another one of my videos a while back. I checked out your channel, and subbed to you as well! So thank you Paul, and welcome back! About the filming process, depending on the style of video I'm going for, I would say it usually takes about 3 hours for a full in-depth car/truck review. As for how-to videos, or short snipits of random stuff I do, I would say 30-60 mins on average. This one start to finish took me about 3 1/2 hours if I remember correctly. I also not a pro at this by any means, so take it account a much more proficient reviewer can probably bang this out in half the time.

      @@DoubleClutchAutoReviews same hear. I seem to talk a little too much in my videos, but hey I get the info out there and maybe too much info. I just filmed the first half of a video on an oil change and taking oil sample to send in the Blackstone laboratories for oil analysis it took about 6 hours That included setting up all the video equipment. I have quite a few bloopers for the end of the video. Part 2 will be filmed as soon as I get the results in. It will be interesting to see what's in the oil since I have a jlt 3.0 black oil separator and I use Mobil synthetic engine oil and a Mobil oil synthetic media filter.... Hopefully the second part of the video will only take an hour to film. Already edited the first half looks pretty good if I do say so myself.
      As for not being professionals we do a damn good job. I'm sure the professionals mess up just as much as we do. They might even have more bloopers because they wanted to be 100% perfect. I like the imperfections that I have when making these videos. Thanks for the nice review. The Silverado/Sierra look nice but they seem very large compared to their predecessors. A few questions for you:
    1. How is visibility out front? Can you actually see over the hood?
    2. The door handle on the driver's side is enormous. Does it not partially obstruct the driver's view?
    3. How was your real world mpg?
    Thinking of getting this one or the GMC Canyon which is smaller but seems more practical for day to day use.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  4 роки тому

      joeraptor1 Thank you for your feedback Joe! These trucks are a little bit bigger than they used to be, but I would say the visibility all around is very good with this truck. It is relatively easy to tell where the front end of the truck is when turning/parking/etc. The A pillar did not block a significant amount of my view when driving. The interior is also quite roomy, and the driver's seat is able to be adjusted to accommodate a wide range of driver heights/sizes, so it's easy to get a great driving position for many people. If you have ever driven a 2nd gen Dodge Dakota or Durango for instance, I actually think the A pillar obstruction is worse in those older trucks than it is in this one. Maybe it's just me or my driving position, but to answer your question, the visibility was not a problem for me in this truck.
      As far as the real world MPG goes, Erik says he typically gets around 15mpg average. He mostly drives around town, and not so much on the highway. I would assume his average would be better if he did a more even combo of city and highway driving.
      In my opinion, I would go with the Silverado over the GMC Canyon. However, it all depends on where you live, and what your needs are. Do you live in a city, or a smaller town? Are you going to be street parking, or in a driveway/garage? Are you going to be hauling a lot of stuff or people around in it? Taking it on long trips? How much are you willing to spend? All questions that would factor in when deciding which light duty truck to buy. I was impressed with this truck, and I don't think you would be disappointed.
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

      @@DoubleClutchAutoReviews Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated. I live up in Canada, in a heavily populated city with a lot of stop and go traffic. I would use the truck as both a daily driver and on weekends, I run a small lawn care business. That's why I need the truck. Your MPG at 15 are about the same as the older version of the truck. I thought that new dynamic fuel management and 8 speed were supposed to improve the mpg but I guess real world results differ from controlled "laboratory" results. The Canyon is a neat little truck that might get a bit better mpg but when I looked at the bed, it seemed a bit too small to fit all of my lawn care equipment. Price wise, the Silverado is about $3000 more....not too much. That's where the problem is for me.

      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  Рік тому +1

      Hey there! Congrats on the new truck. So, it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed this truck, and my buddy doesn’t even have it anymore! So unfortunately, I can’t ask him to help me get you an exact answer. However, I would say you can try a few things…
      First thing to be aware of is that most modern vehicles that have auto stop/start have it defaulted to always be on every time you cycle the ignition. In other words, if you want it off, you have to push the button EVERY SINGLE TIME you start the car. Very annoying.
      It’s exactly the same thing with traction control or ABS on many vehicles. It’s defaulted to be turned on every time you recycle the ignition. This is because the manufacturer thinks we are all dummies, and won’t remember that we left it off. I say, cater to the conscientious driver, not the oblivious one. In my opinion, if I turn something on/off, I want it to stay on/off! That’s why I like a lot of older cars! Anyway, rant over.
      If this is the case for your truck, you can try one thing. Try to go into your vehicle settings, and then go into something marked like vehicle settings or driver assistance settings. Then, try to scroll around and find something that says auto start/stop, or maybe even something indicating fuel economy settings. Then, from there, try to see if you can set it to not use auto start/stop. Some vehicles will let you have that option, and others won’t. I’m not sure if this one does.
      Either way, I hope that helps you, and good luck! If that didn’t fully answer your question, please specify exactly what you are trying to do, and I will do my best to help you from my experience. Please also make sure to leave me a like on the video, and also consider subscribing to my channel! It’s free to you, and it really helps me out to grow, so I certainly appreciate it. Take care, and have a good one! 😎 -Mark

      Again thank you.
      P.s. funny about gas sticker 😂 but they do that bc some tanks have a stop siphon feature for Jeeps, by example, you have to put nozzle half out to get gas.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  Рік тому

      @@555_Lady_JB Not a problem! I do my best to respond to as many comments as I can, and as thoroughly as I can. Now, just to clarify, are you talking about the auto start/stop system, or the cylinder deactivation system? As far as the cylinder deactivation system goes, I have heard nothing but bad things about it. I believe you have to go to an aftermarket tuning specialist to get that taken off unfortunately.
      I’ve heard in some earlier GM trucks that those systems, and they would fail after only about 30,000 miles or so. It would cause a whole slew of problems. To me, not worth it AT ALL for any extra fuel you might save. In my opinion, if you want a V8, you shouldn’t be expecting 4-cylinder fuel economy.
      And that’s very funny! Makes sense when you look at the sticker showing you to go through both “doors”. The more you know!
      Best of luck with the new truck, and I hope you can get the cylinder deactivation figured out either way. 😎💪

    Just bought this model and, info system has an issue. Dealership and gm cant figure out what is the problem, they couldn’t fix it. My info system is not working sometimes it happened multiple times. It doesn’t show code when they hook it to the computer. If you want peace of mind avoid the 2020. Crew cub.

    A couple things in not really find of the exterior however I love the interior which is quite important to me I only subscribed because your so handsome 😎 .. But in the serious side I'ma litttttttle concerned about the report card only because I love to drive fast and a peace officer might be able to prove I was speeding (which I do quite often) 😊 but I really love the truck but I personally wouldn't purchase it .. I've had this conversation with a few people there seems to be a a slight reservation or indecisiveness of wether they would

      Julieanna Baca Hahah well thank you Julieanna for the compliment and the subscription! I wouldn't worry about the police looking at your driving history in your infotainment system if that's what you are worried about. Only if there were significantly extenuating circumstances would that be an issue I think. Either way I liked the truck, but if you like nice interiors, check out my RAM Rebel 1500 video. That truck had a very nice interior.

    You can’t really compare this LT trim with the Ram Rebel. An LTZ Z-71 or the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 would be a better comparison.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  4 роки тому

      I agree with you that the off-road trims of all of those trucks certainly would be a more direct comparison. However, because I'm just starting out, I have limited experience overall, and I've only reviewed 4 trucks total to this day. That includes this Silverado, the Rebel, a Rocky Ridge F-150, and a '06 SRT-10. And at the point I made this review, the RAM Rebel and this Silverado were the only two trucks I've made a review on for my channel. I tried not to get too crazy with comparing every little detail, because you're right, they are two different style trucks for people with different desires/needs. So at this point, I figured why not at least talk about the differences between the two so if someone watching was torn between a more off-road ready and aggressive looking pickup, vs. a more family-oriented and more practical overall pickup, they can watch both videos and decide what's best for them! That was my goal anyway with the comparison. I hope that explains it well.

    Paid $54K for my ZL1 with the 6.2L fully loaded brand new. Sticker was $62K. Never had such an awesome truck. Watching this video, your buddy should've just loaded it up. You seem to be basing your review on mediocre things. I can tell you, this is a mediocre trim level.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  4 роки тому +1

      Your_Future_Ex I understand where you are coming from, and I'm not disagreeing with you that a higher trim level would be a better truck, but you said your bought your truck, correct? My friend leased his. In the video, I was just pointing out the MSRP for this specific trim (The LT All-Star Edition) was around $50k. I can't say for sure, but I'm assuming that he may have gotten some more rebates/discounts if he actually bought the truck instead of leasing it.
      Also, being a new UA-camr, beggars can't be choosers, am I right? I'm not going to turn down an opportunity to review a vehicle that I want to do just because it's not a top-of-the-line trim level.
      Also again, doing a mid-range trim level, or even a base model trim level review video isn't always the worst thing in my eyes. This is because many people can't afford a higher trim level, and maybe they would like to see a review of a vehicle in a trim they are looking for that they can actually afford. I'm not saying Erik couldn't have afforded a higher trim, but he didn't want or need anything more than this truck has. He says it fits his needs perfectly, and he is very happy with it.
      I hope you can see it from that perspective, but let me know your thoughts if you would like. Take care and have a good one!

    Dear
    Friends!!!!! This is a very important message. Anyone who buys a new
    car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash
    is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the
    company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a
    malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help
    will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep
    your money safe.!!!No warranty for the new car
