A fantastic and very different approach to this dramatic biblical story, with Bach's music at the centre of the experience. I love it when something like this can be reimagined in such a creative way.
A very diferent rendition of this Passion! Disturbing and, at same time, emotional experience.
Thanks for your opinion.
It’s really fantastic by Simon Rattle and Peter Sellars
At the end during the long pauze I realised that I had discovered something very new - the emotional experience left me exausted, but also full of joy: as if I just rediscovered Bach...
I’m really think so too.
Bach is Bach.
Thanks
I've seen three live performances and the half a minute of silence after the end is something that's part of the experience; the audience is emotionally crushed.
The Best of the best !!!
Thanks
Obrigado por postar. Eu tinha curiosidade de ver isso.
Different and interesting.
After all, it is the "Passion," not Glory.
I’m really empathy with your “Passion “
Superbe, tout. Que dire sinon que tous les chanteurs - pas que les solistes, le choeur entier aussi - n'ont pas de partition ! Profonde connaissance de l'oeuvre donc, je suis ému.
Who is the tenor around 51minutes? Amazing, the other soloists too.
Maybe he is “Topi Lehtipuu”
Well, it is a musical drama
I’m agree with your opinion.
It’s real musical drama.
Bach hat alles in seiner Musik zum Ausdruck gebracht. Die inszenierte Schauspielerei ist überflüssig und stört nur.
I agree. If Bach liked opera, he would have written one.
@@renatomorais2023..and fwiw I don't think opera likes Bach. The medium requires a particular melodic and dramatic flair. Bach's forte lies elsewhere.
Mr Rattle is not half crazy. Is crazy end half =)
No thanks! I still prefer Harnoncourt's 2000 interpretation...and of course many more but not this.
A presumptuous parody of the enormous Bach´s Mattheus Passion . Why the homosexual kiss! Why?! Disgusting
