Laura and Aaron are two of my favorite people. I NEVER miss any of their content. It’s the first thing I watch before I get out of bed in the morning. She inspires my day. Now I will watch for your content as well.
Honestly, I could not even imagine it from the description or walking it. That drawing is everything!
I cannot wait for the addition to be added on to the pond. Garden Answer fans have been watching every change as it's been happening. So exciting!!!

In the UK we use barley straw, in net bags, floated in the pond to prevent string algae growth. It might be a solution until the wetland filter starts working properly
We will use that as well to help clear up the water! The IonGen will help with the string algae for sure.

Hi there, Jane from Melbourne Australia here, After watching the installation of an enormous swimming pond made on Laura's property (Im a long time Garden Answer follower)
I was inspired to look up Aquascape Australia. I was amazed to find a landscaper who installed your aquascape products in the next town to me!!!
I had him come round to discuss design posibilities. He turned a totally unused corner of my garden into a beautiful feature with a waterfall and small pond . This has been such a joy to the kids in the family and in the evening the sound of the waterfalls are so relaxing. Thank you for this my garden is my pride and joy and now I'm retired I have many many hours of pleasure thanks to a video watched in Oregan.

Someone called Ben Hutchinson landscapes. Absolute joy to have working in your garden, His team is so friendly and very efficient. Good knowledge for plant choices for the pond area. They also have a stall at the Garden Show here in Melbourene and have done some of the water features at a Garden centre called Garden world in Melbourne. Any one wanting a contractor for water features I can not recomend them emough.
I like both the painted outline and the drawing. The drawing made it come to life. Thank you for sharing. I can’t wait for this project.😊
I don’t know when this video was filmed BUT I think Laura may be having second thoughts on WHEN to start on the dream stream since they are having so much trouble with string algae in their pond. I THINK she said that she wanted to get the algae under control before continuing with the dream stream ? 💐💚🙃
String algae is the worst!
People came out and cleaned the pond. The anode for the copper treatment wasn’t in the water so it got out of control.
@@blackpepper8430I THINK that they had to add another control for the string algae plus they had to boost the strength of the first one they had.💐💚🙃
@@blackpepper8430 that was at the beginning of the season. in the latest garden tour, put out just three or four days ago they had to have the guy, Chris, come out again and he blatantly said he has no idea how to fix it. They put in a second iogen (sp?) and now have two of them turned to ten and still it is a green mess in there. Laura said she wanted to put the dream stream on hold because she doesnt want the whole thing to be as bad as it is right now.
@@blackpepper8430 Judy's right they had someone come out and clean it and it was better for a little bit. I think Laura is very frustrated with it right now, just my thought's from watching her videos daily. She did mention that they might need to put the Dream Stream on hold until the algea issue is under control and that someone came out and added an additional algea controller. Hopefully they get it under control because I was looking forward to seeing "The Dream Stream".
Brian, you do awesome work. Thank you for creating the drawing for us visual people. I loved listening to Laura describe your vision and see the excitement on her face. GA has such a huge following that a successful project there will make your business explode. Not everyone can afford a dream steam & pond. But we can work on our own little piece of paradise.
The drawing shows a water wonderland. Well done! I look forward to watching this become a reality. I have my morning coffee watching Garden Answer and really enjoyed seeing the pond construction last year.
I’ve gone back to college to be a landscape architect after being an interior designer for 25 years. I loved seeing how you did the drawing and how everybody’s techniques are a little bit the same and a little bit different. Thank you for sharing.
I think it's helpful to see the design both ways. You get a different perspective from each.

Looking forward to this new project, I hope it goes ahead it sounds amazing. However I 'm in the UK and we still haven't had any decent weather and hoping for summer to start!
My favorite part of the process was watching you draw it on the paper.
I have faith that they will get the string algae under control! They knew it would be a 3 year process.

A fun island feature could be a statue on a flat rock platform. You can also tie to electric to be lit up at night. Thx for sharing website to get scale...good reminder if looking to buy a property to build❤
I am an avid viewer for several years of GA & I can remember when you all put in the pond less waterfall. I know how much it took for Laura to allow an actual pond to be built on her property because she was so worried it wouldn’t look natural. I was soooo excited when she decided to finally do it. It turned out beautiful and it was fun to watch you guys build it. I also know that she is beyond herself with the algae problem she’s currently having and if y’all don’t help her get that under control, the Dream Stream might very be just that, a dream. Get on it AquaScapes!!!! I want to see this dream stream come to life!!!! I think it will be great! 😊♥️
They even said it takes time and maybe if there wasn't fertilizer runoff would help so don't blame them -

I was only saying she is stressing out about it & they (AS) know all the tricks of the trade so maybe there are things she/they can try that haven’t been tried yet. That is all, not blaming anyone. I’m excited to see the dream stream come to life. I’m certain the algae problem will get better. It’s 💯 love from here! 😊♥️

But AS cannot fix fertilizer runoff which seems to be part of the problem - if you watch her videos you can see how the yard slopes. Just because something is organic doesn't mean it can do no harm, and the labels say not to use near a water source - eventually will kill the fish too -

I'm a great visualizer, so, walking through is enough for me - HOWEVER - I ALSO LOVE looking at the drawings afterwards! Can't wait to see the Dream Stream as a WIP and then Finished Project - watching the pond install last year was a favorite, the teams were incredible, and the camaraderie a beautiful thing to get to witness! Can't wait to see you all back at it again!
Brian is the best Pond Designer that you could ever hope for! He has done 4-5 features for me. I am so excited to see what your dream stream looks like. Looking forward to seeing you in Chicago!

It's going to be beautiful! The only water feature in my yard is a 2 tiered concrete fountain and I love it. The sound of moving water is good for the soul

I think the timetable is October of this year. Now that they own the back property, the bigger berms can be added. It’s going to be awesome.
I'm an avid multi years watcher of Garden Answer, plus i have my own aquascape water feature. It's much smaller than on GA. From watching recent GA episodes, i feel Laura's frustration and trepidation about moving forward with the dream stream given the severe algae problem that keeps coming back. It's really difficult to manage when you've never had experience with a huge water feature like Laura & Aaron.
I would love to see the dream stream go in as planned. However, i believe that the aquascape team needs to give Laura & Aaron more hands on support. That includes regular visits, , cleaning & testing water to bring this under control.
It's no ones fault this happened, but it's not showing aquascape in the best light. Jmho
I think we all care for Laura & Aaron and want the best going forward for all.
Hopefully, Brian can sort this out quickly.

I cannot begin to understand, how one could maintain water features this large unless one has full-time hands on and eyes on it. In my area my neighbour’s small pond is a tremendous amount of work and the water attracts raccoons and all kinds of other “urban wildlife”.
@eileenchang2173 you are definitely correct. And the aquascape team would be better to be all hands on to get this one back in order and provide Lsura with a personal contact to be on site to manage it. She has too much on the go and needs things to run on their own but that won't work with any water feature at all.
I love it!! I am graduated from college at a time when you still learned so much about design manually and maybe a 1/10 of it was done with a cad program (automotive/unigraphics) in my case. So I completely appreciate what the combination of all of those tactile visual aids offer! Just as everyone learns differently, everyone also sees things differently. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s incredible! I cannot wait to see the garden/water feature tours!!
The most exciting part of this dream was seeing you, Brian, your bubbly enthusiasm, excitement & skills, jump into this " Dream Stream !" Majic doesn't happen unless you can experience a screw up now & then.
Green slim is not so important at this stage of workmanship! Nature does very well at balancing
in time. No worries. Just throw in some bottom feeders and poof, it shall become cleaner. ( small ones will get along with koi, about 8 aquarium cute ones pre quarantined.) They can live thru winter too snuggling up with big boys.

I just LOVE what you & the dream team has done & cant wait to see all the wonderful additions. The whole process interests me but especially like the old school approach to drawing it out to scale. Then later that drawing could be a cherished gift when framed. ❤

When you guys go to do this project, Aaron and Laura need an idea for the middle of their new patio. I think one of your “round rock pond” would be beautiful in that space! I bet you and Greg could come up with something a,aging that gives them then the sound and movement of water, but not the splash that an actual fountain makes.
