Come eavesdrop on our conversation and share in my admiration of this icon who I am humbled to call my friend.

This was such an interesting exchange of ideas! I loved it! You both are so creative and the wealth of knowledge and information sharing was refreshing. The Raphael pop-in was an added bonus!!
You couldn’t make up the timing of it! When creatives get together, it’s nonstop idea time. 🌱
Me: This garden could NOT be any more beautiful! 🤯🤩 Michael Glassman: Hold my beer 🍺
RIGHT?!? The man’s a fountain of ideas.
@@HelloGarden As are YOU! 🌺🌻🪻“Hold OUR beers just didn’t sound right.” 🤷🏼♀️😜😂
Thank you so very much. 😊
Kate, one of your gifts is to spark creativity. Michael is a firecracker. Together you’re a conflagration of creativity! Such a gift to be able to eavesdrop on your ideas. Excitement is contagious!
Oh my gosh… Sharon, you are a wordsmith and what a compliment! Thank you. I’m humbled. What a gift to be able to share my world with you all. 💕
What a great team you make. So interesting when you bounce ideas back and forth.
I love it so much. The riches are truly in the collaboration!
Such an interesting talk. Gardening can be very solitary and it’s so fun to share ideas with another gardener.
Oh we so agree! 🌱
Love Micheal Glassmen!!!!!!
He is a TREASURE. 💕
Y’all are an absolute HOOT! Thanks for letting us follow along as you brainstorm. What a lovely location ❤
Thank you for coming along! And Park Winters is insanely dreamy. 😍
Absolutely loved every moment of your video, Kate & Michael! It sparked JOY and helped me to look at my garden with new eyes! Heartfelt thanks for inviting us to tag along with you!! 🩷 Dawn (IL)
Oh Dawn… I’m sending you a heartfelt thanks for being a wonderful subscriber! I really hoped our joy would come across in this video.
This video was great! Totally enjoyed every second!! Hope you two can get together again soon!!,
Me too. 💕 But what a treat to have this time together!
Kate, this exchange caught on video is so fabulous!! Listening to (eavesdropping on) two very creative designers critiquing this wonderful garden is just so educational and fun to watch! Thank you! Brian, great job filming too.
The non-stop dreaming of new ideas is REAL. I’m constantly changing my mind in my own garden too. I think I’ve moved one of my hydrangeas 4 times because it just doesn’t feel right yet. 🤣
Thank you! This was so fun! I could listen to both of you all day! It is great at the end when Rafael stopped and is open to new ideas. What an interesting and beautiful place!
Rafael is the ULTIMATE creative and collaborator. Same with Michael! I probably could’ve titled this video “dreaming and scheming” 🤣
What a fabulous conversation. I loved the two of you casually leaning on the flower pot discussing ideas :)
😊 A core memory for me. 💕
Michael Glassman is a god of design!
Right? The way he thinks about form within a space is sooooooooo good. 😍
When I saw Michael Glassman with you I clicked so fast, and, I have to say it was worth it. The only thing better would have been Janey with you guys.
I know!!!! Janey was so busy with everyone at the event that we couldn’t pull her away. But you are right… she would’ve been a DELIGHTFUL addition! 😍
This was a blast to watch! 🎉 loved all the ideas! So creative! ❤
Yay! Thank you! Michael was on FIRE. Such a wealth of creativity!
Yes I loved this video! Thank you Kate ! 💐💚🙃 and of course Michael! 💐💚🙃
You're so welcome! And Big thank you to Michael and his brilliant brain!
What great conversation to eavesdrop on. WOW! More please!
Oh man. It would be so fun to collaborate on a landscape design with Michael! Can you imagine?!?
Wow! What a fantastic exchange of ideas. I loved listening to your conversation. Kate, you and Michael are so inspiring and talented. Thanks to Janie for introducing me to you both. All three of you are just lovely people- thank you for bringing so much light to the world 😊
Thank you so much! It means so much that I’m able to share my love of gardens with you all. And, of course, meet incredible people along the way.
Loved this video! I think having someone who can give constructive feedback on your garden space is such a gift. Anytime you need a garden to critique, just let me know!
I TOTALLY agree. One thing I love about my assistant is she will challenge certain design decisions and I love the opportunity it gives me to either change my mind or ground into my gut decision... it's SO valuable as a creative person to have a partner to chat with. And wouldn't it be fun to just travel around and do consultations for everyone! I need a time machine.
I have never approached landscaping/design/gardening in this manner before. So insightful and thought-provoking. New subscriber for sure.
Oh I’m so excited to lend a different voice to the design convo! Happy you’re here. 😊
My neighbor once said to me , you should put your plants on wheels. What makes gardening so fun is dreaming about all the changes you could make. 😄.
Wow, that just opened up a few great ideas. Thanks. I have a huge pot that is going to be put on wheels! Genius
AMAZING! I’m obsessed with this new community of ours and how inspiration is infectious. 💞
@@lizswinney2637 well my neighbor teases me to put them on wheels because I am always digging my up and changing the locations. But I do have a friend in Australia with a very large patio for the condo and they put all their pots on wheels and just move stuff around and it’s fabulous! 😄
Plant Tinder🎉😂 and it’s true💗
Just out here swiping right and left for the people.
Michael Glassman is a dream! I just love him. ❤❤
His energy and enthusiasm is absolutely infectious!
It was so much fun listening to the both of you bouncing ideas off each other 😊💐💚🙃
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Truly two design nerds… 💕
What geeks! I LOVE this! You are such true designers. 💚
Oh I’m a FULL ON geek. Zero shame. 😆
Kate girl I enjoyed the heck out of this video bravo
Oh I’m so happy. We just jumped straight into nerd-design-love-fest and there was no turning back. It’s a runaway train with us. 😉
You can never go wrong with Michael Glassman. I love his energy, and your energy together was great! So many ideas! I hope you run with the idea that Rafael said about the cobblestone streets in Florida.....that is his new isle/walkway for the bridal procession right there on the lawn. (A safe cobblestone, of course, for the bride's heels.) I'm so looking forward to hearing what comes of your ideas! As you stated so eloquently, you would be building on the great foundation that is already there, making it better, and incorporating Rafael's memories. ❤❤
Rafael is a gem and I feel like listening to his stories brings yet another layer of depth to the garden. 🌸
This thumbnail!!!
We were laughing SO hard. I absolutely love this man. 🤣
Such a treat to watch the two of you bounce ideas! I called my sister to show her how you explained the “ this is not a criticism “ as I often feel that she might be talking my ideas about a garden as a critique of what is. You two are in a state of dream, visualizing an even better version of what you see. A brilliant and cooperative dream that I was partaking in while laying sick in bed. Thank you for making me feel better and hopeful. ❤
Oh I hoped that explanation helped. It’s never a criticism… it’s always a dream for what beauty we can create for those around us! 💕
Exactly!
Somebody needs to write a book....Plant Psychology 101. I loved this collaboration ❤️
Oooo… there’s my second book… The Language and Psyche of Flowers.
I can relate to what Michael said about everyone one wanting new back in the day, I grew up in that era. Things were passed down from generation to generation with ALL of its signs of being used from generation to generation so when you had the opportunity to get something new it was LIKE winning the lottery back in the day ! 🤣💐💚🙃
Isn’t that the way… every generation needs to pave its own way, but history is so precious. 💐
Oh dang! I loved being a fly on the wall. I was saying Yes! Yes! during the entire video.
This was SO much fun to film... Just love Michael's energy!
Hail Rafael! What an incredible host! He is so gracious: “Everything here is better because of everyone’s opinions…”. I am so excited to learn that ParkWinters is named for my favorite town in Florida - Winter Park, which has changed so much in the past 25 years, as he says, because of the people who live and create there! Loved visiting the property with you….
Isn't Rafael a treasure?!? From the moment we met it was non-stop creativity. His welcoming presence and invitation for others to create WITH him is what makes this property so magical. I love that you know Winter Park!
Loved the Plant Tinder comment. So true that we all have our love or hate relationships with specific plants. The stories Michael told were interesting and made me think about my own plant prejudices.
Wasn’t that so fascinating?!?
I feel a partnership coming together!! You two really click. Love it! ❤
Gah! I would love that. 😍
Hi Kate 🌺 . What a beautiful video of you and Michael . If you two work together you will create an amazing garden . Have agreat day . 🌺🌻🌺
Two heads are always better than one. It would be a DREAM to work together. 💐
You two are dangerous together, lol!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh you better believe we are. 🤣🤣🤣
Whoa! You both were such a treat to watch! Loved hearing you both talk and share your ideas! Anyone that gets your opinions on gardening is priceless!!! Please keep on staying true to what you do!❤
Yvonne, this comment means so much. I definitely suffer from imposter syndrome at times… even after a decade in this industry. But I just try to focus back on bringing joy and beauty into this world and it zaps me right back into the zone. So thank you for encouraging me to just be myself. 💞
OMG I loved this so much!!!
Oh I am a Michael Glassman FAN. It would be so fun to collab on projects with him… he’s a genius!
Wow, I love this. You two together are genius!!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!!
It was so much fun!!! Thank you for watching.
So many glorious ideas! Loved ALL OF THEM!
Thank you SO much! When you get two creative dreamers together, it's a compound effect. And endless possibilities ensue!
I used to live in Winter Park, Florida. It was definitely a beautiful place and I lived on a brick road.
Oh I love that. It’s so fun to hear from people who know Winter Park!
So enjoy Michael & his past garden tours also. Tks for this garden tour.
Me too! He’s so incredible.
I agree that tall single palm needs to go. Then that gorgeous giant door requires something to talk to. Something sculptural of the same era or an exaggerated pergola or cabana.
I can't wait to see what Rafael decides to do with that area! The Italian cypresses were 😍... such a crazy big scale to match that door. More please! Ha!
Watching two creatives talk shop is amazing!!
Thank you so much. I feel the exact same way when listening to other creatives! It's just enthralling.
Yeah...the pool area needs some structure...or, something
Knowing Rafael... he's probably going to do something incredible that will totally knock my socks off. 🌻
Great video, loved it bouncing ideas like master gardeners. ❤
Thank you… we had so much fun!
You two together WOW. Powerhouse ideas 🪴👒🪴
We were laughing so hard filming just the intro... I can't wait for him to come up to the NW for the NWFGS next year!
You all got so much You Tube content on this one trip! Thanks for taking us along!
Oh did we ever! And we still have a few more goodies up our sleeves. Just wait! 😉
I loved every bit of this video! The two of you are a powerhouse of ideas! ❤❤❤
I’m so happy it was a joy to watch. And yes… we have no shortage of ideas! 😍
A creative powerfest! This was a great video!
So glad you enjoyed it! We probably could've filmed for another 5 hours. Ha!
I am amazed that the improvements you describe as you enter the pool setting are exactly what my body felt, however, I don't innately speak or comprehend design, especially the way you both talk about it. But the changes you are suggesting align with a balance I didn't know to recognize. RAFAEL: if you do any of these changes I'm interested in buying tickets to the Kate & Michael "And Also" Update Tour. 😄
Ha ha ha! Watch the design circus in real life! But also… you brought up something SO important. Design isn’t just pretty. It’s felt. It’s a soul experience that springs forth from a knowing inside us all. 💐
You both are so inspiring!!!
Oh thank you. I feel really humbled to be considered in his company.
What a wonderful video. I LOVE Michael Glassman....you both just overflow with great ideas. I'm sitting on my patio watching this on my computer. I'm changing (improving) things in my view as I'm sitting here. Thank you for the time today!
We were both bubbling over! Love that I get to be part of your day (and dreaming…)
This was SOOO much fun to listen to! Gosh, I learned so much! Felt like a fly on the wall haha!
About making lawns intentional …. My old house was a suburban lot in the Bay Area and had a 20’ x40’ lawn out front. It got used by my kids to play occasionally but most of the time was just there, empty. Redid the front yard to be more water wise and reduced the lawn area to a 13’ diameter circle with a small fence on two sides and a bench. Suddenly that small patch of lawn got used all the time! It became a wrestling mat, or a tumbling spot or the bench became a “stage” and the lawn space for the “audience”. Adults gravitated to it for conversations and teenagers hung out on it. The use was so heavy it compacted the ground and I had to repair the damage but … that’s OK. That little circle of lawn became “ intentional” space and definitely enhanced our outdoor living! Less CAN be more!
Oh you created a sense of place… I LOVE that. 😍 I often feel lost in wide open spaces. By shrinking the lawn you literally brought people together. So well done! 💞
Love those busy and brilliant ideas you two bounce off of each other❤❤
We had over an hour of non stop chatting to edit down… he’s the best!
@@HelloGarden Oh Kate! We would watch a longer video and savor every creative, inspiring moment!🩷
SO MUCH PASSION WITHIN THE TWO OF YOU! I LOVE IT!
Darn near impossible to contain our joy!
I wish we had the names of the plants
Oh my goodness… there were so many!
Wonderful video 🥰🥰
Thank you so much. We had such a blast chatting together!
Oh, Michael, I have 8 peonies in full sun in Sacramento area. No shade at all and they thrive! They are Itoh, so maybe that’s the difference! I love them too! Thank you Kate, fabulous ❤❤❤❤
Woah! Deb, it sounds like you have the magic touch. 💐😊💕
So fun Kate! Thank you!
Thanks for watching! Michael is a stitch… and BRILLIANT.
I love your spirit lady!
Thank you, Donna! 💞💞💞
I think the focal point is the pool, the Colour of the water reflections of the skyline. Some various colours of verbenas and grasses alongside the bushes, hedges would bring Colour & movements when the wind blows 👒
Oh this is what I love about people and design… so many beautiful perspectives!
❤❤
💐💐
I totally agree, the pool area definitely needs major help !!!!! In my opinion it is just blah now. You two could definitely dress it up !!
The pool is sooooo cool. We just need that big moment to make it truly sing! 💕
What is this place? Where is it? Did I miss them mentioning it.
Park Winters? Where is thi?
Yes, Park Winters. It is SO magical!
I agree with you both on entering the pool area. The first time I saw it I was amazed by the pool on the other side of the door but disappointed in the wow feature looking past the pool. I’m just a small time Gardner but saw that right away. Sooooo it can be embellished! I don’t know what direction it is facing but it could hold the most fabulous sunsets … thus not wanting to block that vision. Good ideas though! It was such fun listening to the two of you!
Totally! I love that he kept one side a low sweep of landscape to take in the horizon… but we need a big moment to balance that incredible door! Knowing Rafael, he probably has something incredible planned. 💕
Loved every minute, wish I could give you way more than one thumbs up❤️
Oh man… well this comment is such a gift to my soul. Thank you for being here! 🌸
WOW!
He is SO much fun! 💕
This was an awesome video!! Hope park winters let’s you both come back and help put in a few new pots!! 🌸🍃
Wouldn’t that be so fun?!? 🌸
What an abundance of knowledge, passion, and just plain fun!! 💚
Michael is the best!!!
Beautiful garden! I do the same thing when I look at gardens I think how could you take this garden to the next level!!!
I’m so glad you get it. It’s always about the dream and how we can maximize beauty and enjoyment for everyone who enters the space. 💕
I love hearing Michael talk landscapes. Am I the only one who pictures Mike Wazowski when he walks? Such a character 😂
Isn’t he incredible. Just the best of the best!
8.05k...Very nice work...I have subs
Thank you so much 😀
Spot on about the pool area, it NEEDS something to enhance its beauty! 💐💚🙃
That pool is so bananas cool. It would just be the cherry on top!
Awesome!
Thank you!
Loved it!
Thank you so much! 💐
Oh I loved listening to the two of you bounch ideas around . Palm trees are a no for me .
He is an absolute stitch and design genius!
Its beautiful, but when you walked thru the door, i expected my jaw to drop, it was just meh, so youre right, it needs a wow factor, something that will leave in awe
I mean… it’s darn hard to compete with a 20ft tall door. 🤣
Seriously that was my 😲 moment
What a great video. Totally enjoyed!
I’m so pleased! We were having a ball. I just love Michael.
Great video fun to see you two together and creating a vision of color and art.❤
It was such a treat to riff with each other! Michael is so darn brilliant.
Loved listening to you two talk about design. I also wanted to say you look so cute in your linen short set and hat. You look great! ❤️
Awww… thank you! I felt so fancy not wearing my traditional overalls and work wear. 🤣
@@HelloGarden I wear Duluth overalls too when I’m gardening. I have 2 pr that have prints. You rock those too. ❤️
The thumbnail😂❤
I almost chose something more tame… and then Brian and Janey convinced me otherwise. It’s basically a snapshot of our time together.
🍃❤️🍃Michael
Oh I know… what isn’t to love about that man?!?
Fantastic!
Thank you for being here! He’s such a 🌟!
