Fun fact - foods and drinks that are meant to be eaten cold are more flavored than those meant to be eaten hot, because the cold numbs your taste buds a little. So sodas seem overly sweet at room temperature because they are meant to taste just sweet enough when cold.
if you use the vanilla pods for baking (cut and scrape them) then store the old used pods in a jar of castor/superfine sugar and you will have vanilla sugar - lovely to use, adds sweet warmth to buns and cakes x
im so loving the end of your videos! the silly randomness of your stories and comments are so cute and funny!! Makes an amazing addition to your already major awesome videos
Emmy, I just started watching your videos and you are amazing! The way you describe food is so perfect it's almost like a enjoying it with you! I've gotta say, you're really good at describing textures and flavors. I really love your channel and you've got me addicted to enjoying food around the globe with you. ONE THING BEFORE I GO! Please do a video on miracle berry pills! It's supposed to change the flavor of your palate, all sour tastes sweet and other interesting combinations. Thank you!
i read some comments about how you make bad days good..about someone you gave hope..about calming others..etc. wow Emmy!! isn't it amazing!! you are awesome!! KEEP IT UP!! 3
BOL! This is hilarious! I thought I was the only person obsessed with retainers as a child! And glasses. I've always wanted to wear "spectacles". Great video and Little Miss R thank you for sharing : )
i'm glad i saw your videos!!..haha..but only.. but..... YOU ALWAYS MAKES ME SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HUNGRY!!... I AM EATING EMMY VIDEOS.. (silly me)..hehehe hungry times
Here in the netherlands those candy coated vennel seeds are called "muisjes" (mouse). We put them on round toast with some butter when ever there is a child born, blue for a boy and pink for a girl. they are great to eat when ever on a slice of bread with butter.
I'm Indian, and I have a bag of candy coated fennel seeds! They're supposed to be like a breath freshener after a meal, but I just munch on them all the time, haha! Also, Khatta Meetha (khatta =sour, meetha = sweet) is my favorite kind of Haldiram's namkeen (savory chex mix type of snacks)! We like to eat different types of namkeen with tea :)
I make my own vanilla extract in my cake shop. I use Bourbon and vanilla beans and let it stand for at least 3 months before I use it (the longer the better). It's great! =}
Khatta Meetha -- We just got some of this in a store in Milwaukee (Wisconsin) that sold foods from India. The lady at the store said it meant Sour Sweet (or maybe it was Sweet Sour) :-) Yummy stuff!
Hi, Emmy. Good Morning (9 a.m. CDT) from Texas! Just a quick note to say great vid, as usual, and I'm lovin' that totally random, off-the wall ending, too. xD Have a happy and blessed day!
Been loving your random endings lately! I can't believe it. Headgear rocks? :P You wouldn't say that if you were one of the kids with brace and retainers haha. The pistachio candy looks good :D
A lot of countries near and in Africa actually either speak primarily French or French as a second language. So you'll find a lot of treats that have French sounding names. Fun tip. Also I've tried that soda - it does taste EXACTLY like Ramune, the original flavor one. Very just fresh light citrus. I think it's a bit sweeter than Ramune though. And when I had it it was WAY less fizzy and more bubbly. But yay I recognize a lot of these treats for once! Despite living in the US and being French ;P
Headgear rocks =) I had a glittery rainbow colored retainer when I was young. Don't feel left out. It had a weird garlic taste (must have been the kind of plastic) to it and when I tried to explain this to the orthodontist and techs, they just seemed to be confused.
khatta meetha is a combination of treats from haldiram(the manufacturer of the product khatta meetha) which is made by flour from corn,which is very different than cornflour!
We have the khatta meetha and and several other similar snacks in the Toronto area. Then again, if you ever move to Toronto, you won't have to rely on people send you packages for their country, you could just go to the right part of Toronto! :)
Emmy, the Pistachio candy is actually made from peanuts. I lived in Madagascar for awhile and they always called the peanuts "pistache" which is the French word for pistachio. They never believed me when I told them that a "voanzo" the Malagasy word for peanut is actually an "arachide". So anyways, they don't have pistachios really at all over there, but tons of peanuts. They just call them the wrong thing for some reason. So that's why it tasted like peanut brittle, because it is made from peanuts.
headgear rockssss thats so random loll u dont want a retainerrrr....and thanks you have enlightened me about the candy coated fennel seeds i had no idea when i saw them at a restaurant
I always wanted braces as a kid but had perfectly straight teeth. I feel your pain! When I had chewing gum I would often use it to create a retainer (never kept them, but for that moment I was able to pretend). I am grateful now that I never had them.
I also, I have had terrible depression because of an incident up in Florida and on the plane ride home the plane was malfunctioning right before we took off and landed, so thank you for your video's.
i always wanted braces as a kid, too. i'd watch kids with retainers pop them out of their mouth, and put it back in, and i just thought that was the coolest thing ever.
The chocolate coverd sun flower seeds. Our teacher use to give those to us in the 3rd and 4th grade. I love them a lot but cant find them her in the stores in the US. also wnat the nuernuernuere but i cant order because i have no card. :( sucks
I'm glad to hear I was not the only one who wanted retainers. I am now n adult digging through garbage for mine, lol. I've been brace free for 4 years now, but I will wear my retainers for life:)

After watching a few of your videos my 6 year old started describing all of his food like you.
Bonbon anglais is the best limonade in the world :D
Your big glasses are best glasses in the world. Your upper lip is the best lip in the world. Your left eye is the best looking eye in the world.
Jok is a fruit-flavoured candy. The pink one you've tasted is my favorite one (lychee flavour)

I make my own vanilla extract in my cake shop. I use Bourbon and vanilla beans and let it stand for at least 3 months before I use it (the longer the better). It's great! =}
