Thank you for showing how you hang up your mini quilts. The hexagon mini quilt your friend made for you is beautiful. This video was such a treat! You made my day better. Thank you Amy!
I enjoyed my 1st year with Karen Brown's Declutter challenge. Did I get everything done? No, but I made amazing progress and I feel so much better about my space, especially since my studio is in both my living room and dining area. I'm going to keep working on them and taking sewing time for my reward. What a great idea for putting up wall hangings!
Just did the same thing with my quilt tops! I had 30 quilt tops...donated 15 of them to a charity that finishes and distributes quilts. What a weight off my shoulders. Very freeing. Makes the remaining quilt tops a more doable task.
6 1/2 inches of snow here in Pensacola. Broke a 100 + year record. Will probably be here for another day or two. I’m hoping I can make knitting night tomorrow if the roads clear of ice. Hope the in-laws are fairing ok.
I’m on my daughter’s sofa bed, she’s just home after surgery, she’s doing ok but I’m here to help.just set up the bed and plugged in the iPad and up you popped so snuggled in bed watching you as a treat before sleep. It’s 11 pm here in England have a great day everyone. Love the challenge.❤
Thank you for helping her out and I hope she will be fine soon. My mom helped me out, when I got my son 13 years ago. I didn't really was in THAT need, but I was sooo grateful. So, thank you for beeing there for her ❤ Greetings from Germany 😊
I usually watch videos until the last 30 seconds or so. I generally skip the thanks for watching, please like and subscribe part. I watch every second of your videos because I enjoy hearing you tell me I make the world a better place just by being in it.!
I am from NC But Married a man Who lives on a farm in Pennsylvania (near Philly) I hate winter Because I hate being cold and stuck inside. I'm always afraid of falling on the ice Or getting stuck coming up our Steep curvy driveway ( Husband did last night 🤣) We currently have about 3 in of snow but it was 4° Overnight And it is 15° and dropping now! I'm drinking my coffee From a mug that says "Wake Me Up When It's Summer". Thanks for your video That brightened up A cold day.
This week has been brutally cold, in Michigan. I stayed inside for 4 days. I have gotten out only to get mail and let a my dog and a friend’s dog out (they had an emergency). Today we made it out to the local big box store for supplies and the quilt store for batting. Now I’m ready to hibernate til spring. We will try to keep our nasty white stuff here in the north, but sometimes we just can’t control momma nature! ❤ Thanks for your fun videos! It makes winter brighter!
I’m so glad you showed the room clutter. It makes me feel much better and that’s it’s doable getting rid of it. I’ve done the declutter challenge now I’m doing the organising. The declutter was easier than I thought it would be as last year there was a lot I wasn’t ready to let go that I still haven’t touched so it went this year. Re buying the black fabric. You have used what you had… you used it all up. It might be annoying to be a little bit short but a different black would stick out like a sore thumb and ruin the quilt. I don’t have UFOs I have WIPs, granted some of them are in year 3 but I continue to work on them. One is a super king size double wedding ring EPP quilt which I knew would take several years. I don’t want to eat the same meal for dinner every single night and sewing is the same. 😂 I really enjoy your videos, your positivity and kindness are infectious. In your own words you make the world a better place just for being in it. ❤
Thank you so very much for your kind words. I’m glad the challenge went well for you. I love that you gave me a perspective shift about the black fabric- thank you!😊
I’ve been using the Karen Brown Declutter posts to check my sewing space and stuff. My area needing declutter were the scraps. I was saving very small pieces of fabric, which I’ve come to realize i don’t want to work with all that often. I have a tidy collection of 1 1/2” squares which I want to reduce. I’ve been looking at Bonnie Hunter’s site for inspiration. I’ll use them as leader and Enders to get that process started. At some point, the smallest square or scrap will be no smaller than 2” sq.
I was glad to hear not that many in the South had lost power; y'all aren't equipped for the cold. Hopefully that was a once in a life time storm, and the snow and freeziness stays up here, where it belongs from now on. Take care, stay warm and have a wonderful week.
Here in Western PA it’s -13 for the low temp, +13 for the high today. Snow hasn’t melted in weeks. Snow days are sew days. No guilt, because nobody wants to go outside anyway!
Your husband is much like mine! He’s always willing to give me a helping hand when I need it! He’s definitely a treasure and I know how very fortunate I am to share my life with him! I’m still waiting to feel well enough to do the declutter challenge but I’m praying that I will be able to do it soon! Although I haven’t purchased anything in January, I can’t say the same is true of November and December which included a lot of retail therapy! Have a wonderful day and thank you for taking us along on your quilting journey!❤
It is so good to have a supportive partner, isn't it? You are definitely lucky! I hope you feel well soon! Sometimes retail therapy is a useful coping tool - especially during the holidays. 😊♥️
4years I have done her challenges. This year I again finished each day but this year it was a first. Donations ready to go. Only a couple save for maybe. But ear marked for out next year. I have all the material in a dedicated place. Today I even took a bigger step and sorted 2 drawers of my 2” squares into colors. I am retired and time is mine and I am going to do the same with my 2.5, 5 and 10 inch squares. I love my new sewing room and am going to enjoy sewing in it.
In Gloucester Va we did not get much snow this time but the high is in the 20s. I still did not get as much as I wanted my sewing room is the coldest and when I use wood to help heat the house as my heat pump is over 20 year old it really gets cold.the good news it is suppose to be above freezing tomorrow. Love your channel.
Hello Beautiful! Moving is a great way to declutter😂!! Just sayin’. I like you idea of the rings on the back of wall hangings. It’s a step up from how I usually just push those pins right through the quilt!😂 11:27 I LOVE this pincushion quilt. I’ve done the little sheep quilt too and several more by Rachel’s of Greenfield. She lives real close to me! I’ve done a scrappy flannel bricks quilt with kitty cats on it. It turned out so cute and soft. I’ve also make scrappy flannel receiving blankets for newborns.
Moving totally works - maybe a little too well )there are still things I wish I hadn’t left in Atlanta). Thank you. A flannel bricks quilt sounds perfect and super cozy. I’ll keep that in the back of my mind if flannel comes across the free table again.
I started the Karen Brown Challenge, got a bad cold & got off track but I plan to start over. Thanks for the tips on that subject as well as the hanging tips! The snow didn’t reach us but the cold sure did! I hope you & everyone here gets to sew at least a little today!
Awe Amy, I just subscribed a day ago and hail from Good Ole 🇨🇦 Canada where out temps are a tad chilly as the Polar Vortex makes it way further east into the US southern states. As far as clutter, you've done a wonderful job at that. Q I see you have small wa hanging w four bear paws and half square triangles. Can you maybe do tutorial on that one day? Good Luck w your clutter & your weather. 🌬❄️☃️🌝🌞🇨🇦Blessings
Oh yes. Canada has REAL weather! Welcome I am so glad you’re here. The mini quilt you speak of is in one of the artist videos. I know it’s included in the supercut but I can’t remember the name of it’s own right off hand. Oh. There is a playlist for the artist series. It’s one of the later ones. Check there and I’ll find the actual name for you soon.
You misplaced your rings, and I misplaced the pen to my graphics tablet that I used before I retired. I thought I might find it while decluttering but no such luck - and buying a new tablet is cheaper than a replacement pen!!
Thanks so much, Amy for showing the hexagon wall hanging! Since I don’t have someone special to make it for me, I will make one similar for myself 😊
Well there you have it- you DO indeed have someone special to make it for you! I think you'll love it. 😊

That’s just crazy! The inlaws are down in Inverness now with Traci so they fared pretty well - thanks for asking 😊♥️. I hope it clears soon.

@@megfreeth4377 💜 she's so lucky to have you. Having Mom nearby after surgery is so wonderful. My mom helped me after 2 surgeries in 2023

I’m a caregiver this week too for my elderly neighbor who is 80 & just had knee replacement surgery!
Thank you for the lovely comments she’s up and we managed a shower so she’s doing ok 😘

What does WIP mean? English isn't my first language.
@@_Lynaed_WIP is work in progress

For a weirdly severe storm front it stayed pretty gentle. Thanks so much! 😊♥️
I love seeing all of your large and small things. I always pick up ideas. Keep the tips coming❣️
Thank you! Will do! 😊♥️

Congrats Amy! You have officially received more snow in TX than we have in Sioux Falls SD this year!🎉
Well that’s just crazy! 😜

Hi Amy thanks for sharing some of your quilts 😊
You are so welcome! I am so happy to share with you! Thank you for watching!
What a beautiful pile of quilty love. Casey is a keeper!❤
Thank you and I couldn’t agree more! ♥️😊
Good hanging idea, hate dowels and sleeves.
Thank you 😊 ♥️
Love the vlogs!
Thanks so much! 😊♥️
Oh man, I hate when I get smug. I also hate when I say never. I once said I would never live in Wyoming and then ended up living there for 6 years 😂

Enjoyed this. thanks for sharing.
You’re so welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊♥️
The hexi’s have your signature red polka dots too!
Yes indeed 😊
What a fun 7 days! Loved the scrappy video. Love the tip to use the timer to trim blocks. Thank you! I dread trimming blocks too. Thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊♥️. That timer really works - it gives me permission to stop AND it drives me to stay focused. 😛
Love your videos and really appreciate your kindness.
Thank you so much! That means a lot! 😊♥️

I’d love to participate in a quilting along for that beautiful string quilt behind you. And how often do you rotate your display quilts out or around?
That might be a fun idea. I rotate my quilts when I have something new or I get bored. Usually once a year or so.
I feel soooo released after seeing your room in this state. 😂 I need to join Karen Brown, too. But.... gosh!!! 😂😂😂
I still need some motivation 😅
Everything in its own time! The room was insane after my talk - I literally could not get out until Casey folded all of those quilts😛♥️
Love the coffee mug. I was born just outside Montreal! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
That is so cool! We got this one when we went for the F-1 race several years back. I collect them (when possible) from everywhere we travel
Girl you should see my room... 😂 Compared to mine yours is clean.
Ha!!! 😜😊😋
Have you made a Louie the 16th patch like The Last Homely House?
No I haven’t. I don’t even know that block but I’ll check out Kate’s vicdeos and look it up! 😊
I'm working on my UFO's and having an awesome time watching you while sewing up blocks!
Why thank you friend! I’m glad you’re here 😊♥️
For us lazy people, I use large safety pins to hang on the push pins.
Oh that’s a great idea too!! Awesome! 🤩
