@@Shallowballowsorry to burst your bubble but active fuel management ruins these engines and you forgot 2014 as well. I own a 2014 suburban with 150k already has lifter tick. Beware of the 07-14 platform if you want reliability stick with 99-06
@@Shallowballow changing oil doesn’t necessarily matter. My dad had an 07 yukon, 09 suburban, and now a 2013 yukon. The suburban had lifter noise and oil leaks but he still kept up to date on the oil changes. From what I’ve heard its best to avoid 07-11 model years and stick to 2012 and beyond
GMT800's were awesome trucks! my grandpa used to have a 04 silverado ls extended cab it was a HOSS man but you gotta love the gmt900 platform beige best interior on both platforms
currently looking for a 900 suburban and i agree, beige is the best interior. even a gray interior i dont mind. my dad had a 09 suburban with the gray and it was alright. every suburban i find seems to have the black interior unfortunately.
@@fastdoozy9211 yes it’s limited to around 95 mph and it stops you from going any faster. It’s just governed that’s all. But it shouldn’t jerk the truck though
the 4L60 isn’t a bad transmission given the engine is kept stock. Idiots ran them on low fluid, abused them in every which way possible, and then blamed the transmissions when they failed.
@@southwestohiodashcam6838companies loved hanging on to badly geared 4 speeds for a long time. (Even into 2010!). It really was annoying especially because with engines lacking torque they become slugs with a 4 speed.

@@southwestohiodashcam6838it’s the alternator. On these early GM’s they were very noticeable. 2007-2014 also had a whine in the alternator.
So i hit 95 mph in my 02 suburban, and it jerked pretty hard like it shifted, but i couldn't go any faster. Is that normal?

probably because gmt800 started in 1999 and 4 speeds were pretty much still the norm
