It's been years since either of us have skied -- at least a decade for Melissa, nearly three for Chris. Neither of us were ever particularly strong skiers. We love spending time in nature and we want to stay fit, so while in Whistler it made sense to give skiing another try. How'd we fare? Have tips? Comment below.

Would have been cool if you came back to Nelson for your skiing adventure. ( would have been a fraction of the cost). But the local hill ( Whitewater) is mostly a black diamond hill. Whitewater hasn't been blown out of proportion...yet. Meaning it's a bit of a hidden gem. But is being slowly exploited and " discovered".
If your ever through again, let me know and I'll play behind the scenes tour guide.
Enjoying your vids and watching your channel grow!

Doran... Nelson is a delightful place. Black diamond hills are probably not in our future, but we sure hope another visit to Nelson is! If so... we'll reach out. Thank you for your support! It is appreciated.

Good for you, congratulations on conquering the mountain. First time/day skiing was Mt. Baker, no lesson, boyfriend and his sister were teaching me. Second day of skiing was Whistler, no lesson, took me all day from top to bottom. 1977. Last time I skied 15 yrs ago at Whistler, icy and I was done. We skied all the years in between, our very young kids learned in kids ski school, then snowboard. I was a sunny day, good condition skier. You did great, intimidating mountain to learn on.🇨🇦❤️

Hey Skiers! The last day was a bunch better. The Chris ski cam and watching Melissa also is documented evidence. I’ve seen a lot worse efforts so plan to advance your skill level….you’ll surprise yourself. Love that mountain!

When I was 7 I fell off a chairlift at Whistler (right after I got on ) It took them forever to get me back on as all these empty chairs went up. (Cue angry crowds) Then we missed where you got off and got off a second platform and had to ski down some stairs. Then on my first run I got bumped and fell down the side of the mountain. It took forever to get up as the snow was deep and I was little. I also dropped my ski three times in exhaustion and it went further down each time. I wouldn't ski anymore because I was rattled and walked down the mountain. I ended up getting a ride down on the snow grooming machine. Longest 1/2 day of skiing EVER. We made 1 run. GOOD TIMES. LOL

Seems more like a holiday than living. Hmmm... "holiday living" does have a nice ring to it!

It was quite expensive...:P It'd bank heists and a life on the run to be able to afford doing it all winter long.

Learning to ski is tough and takes persistence...L'apres learning curve on the other hand is quite shallow but requires stamina...
