Litt, your not funny, not even a little bit, and if you knew even the basics of tort claims. Legal representation looks at the cost of settling vs the cost of fighting. Even when they feel certain they will win, they will make an offer to settle that is a fraction of what it would cost to fight it. In intentional torts it’s not common that the prevailing party gets reimbursed, because proving financial loss in a libel case is tough. So typically the yea, you shouldn’t have said that if you can’t prove it 100%, but the offended party owes their portion of the cost to object.
