I am happy I went there while they were still filming the series between seasons 6 and 7 because the houses still had bright colors and there were (fake but still) flowers and everything everywhere… it was really beautiful back then and now it looks really sad 😢
I was surprised to see the condition of the houses as well. Looks like it's not used nowadays, but intrestingly enough, they actually still film there. I just started watching "Never Have I Ever" and the street and houses reminded me of something, until I realized the main character of the show lives in the iconic Susan Mayer's house. So the shots for that show were filmed around 2020, pretty recently. I guess they re-do the outside of the houses so much, so they only vamp them up for filming and it's not built as correctly as an actual living house, bc and it's done with shitty materials that wind and rains can easily break off when the set's not being used for only couple of months - just a hunch).
@@kassixoYeah I believe so. Originally a bunch of these houses were built in the 50s, indoors the soundstages for filming then moved outside to make a proper street, so that wouldn't be surprising. They were not meant to last long in the first place.
What the hell did they do to Edie's house.. 😢 the whole street looks like a right mess. Most of the houses look in bad shape like they haven't been maintained properly.
Right? That's exactly what I thought watching this. It looks like the street is almost left abandonned, especially after seeing the staircase of the Animal house that completely collapsed. This entire house is a rotten shell, it's gonna go down soon if they don't do anything.
I mean the set has been mostly unused since 2012. It's no surprise that a lot of it fell into disrepair. None of the houses lived in by minor characters would ever be used in any future movie/show because they're not interesting enough (example, Ida Greenberg's house).
1:27 do we know which houses? I know Susan and Gabby had a functioning front area but that's it. anything deeper in the house like the loungerooms are still on the soundstage.
Bree would be so mad at the state of her lawn 😂
She would definitely tear all the landscaping out and start from scratch all over again!
And she would probably sit in a pile of steer manure to prove it 🤣

Sad that the houses and street look like they haven't been kept up the way they were. I wish DHW would come back for a reboot ☹️

How did you go there?
I only recognized Mike's house from Desperate Housewives?

Edie's house had running water and had many rooms, so did Mike's/Katherine. Also I think Bob and Lee and Mrs McCluskey had a couple of rooms
que nostalgia
That's Mayfield Pl. The Burbs Is The Best Movie Ever!!!!
Darf man bei der Tour nicht selbst durchlaufen, und in die Häuser gehen?
