Back to the Europe vlogs :)! Hope you guys had an awesome weekend! What did you get up to? If you are new around here make sure you hit subscribe :) ua-cam.com/users/flyingthenest
Flying The Nest nice vlog, really captured the beauty of our capital. However, I think you should visit Ljubljana in the summer (because it's a better experience, since you're not constantly freezing)
There are plenty local businesses that offer coffee, sweets and overall great service. And unfortunately might be replaced by big corporations like the ones you mentioned in the future... I personally really don't think we need even more overpriced coffee and chain businesses that take away from the energy and soul of such a cute city as Ljubljana.
Hi Loti! I'm a Spanish student who's probably gonna go to Lubjabljana on an Erasmus program next year. I would like to have someone to talk about the city! Let me know if u feel like it :D
Im Croat but Slovenija is in my heart. Started visiting when I was 3 years old. Beautiful contry wherever you go. River Soca is stunning, Maribor, Bled, Slovenj Gradec, Portoroz, Kranjska Gora etc.
Very nice review of my city, thank you! It's a lot nicer in spring and summer though with all the cafes and you can also visit Park Tivoli and just chill outside :) Anyways, great video!
Okay I've only watched like 2 minutes of this vlog so far, but I for reals am so in love with Ljub and so happy you feel the same! Charming and lovely and delicious and authentic and SO UNDERRATED.
umm you guys gave us the inspiration for checking out Ljubljana! The market place was so cool! p.s. that Yogurt was AMAZING! Also p.s.s.s. kinda jelly you guys just did India!
I realize this video is pretty old now, but I have to agree that Ljubljana is SO underrated! And Slovenia in general. The people are friendly and getting around with English is pretty easy, the landscape is GORGEOUS (on par with Austria and Switzerland, IMO), and the prices are way cheaper than more visited countries! Definitely worth a visit.
Oh wow, Ljubljana look super beautiful in the winter. We were there in late summer. It is such an underrated place, even we only have ourselves a day on our way to Italy. But a good reason to go back! Thanks for sharing!! Safe travels.
I make videos of my traveling around the world, I am in Slovenia now , what would you suggest me, I am about to start a video from Koper. Then Ljubliana and Bled I believe, Piran also. Do you have any suggestions?
If you ever visit Slovenia again I recommend you visit the Postojna cave and the Postojna castle. River Soča (Isonzo) where you can go rafting and river Mura (Mur) where you can see the watermills (it’s also the river that gave name to Prekmurje -a region in Slovenia meaning ‘over Mur’). You won’t regret visiting Lipica (where you can see the Lipizzan horses), which’s name is derived from the word lipa (linden tree). Linden trees are quite common in the area and are a national symbol of Slovenia. And if you really enjoy spending time in nature then maybe check out the Triglav National Park. Triglav is Slovenia’s highest mountain (2864m).
Of course, It's more beautiful than Vienna ;) Ljubljana castle is from Roman times, 11th century. Ljubljana was called Emona at that time. If you haven't visited caves in Slovenia then you'll have to come again. Cheers to Australia. :)
I'm Croatian (which is a contury RIGHT next to Slovenia) and I had NO idea Ljubljana was this gorgeous until my parents visited it and told me how amazed they were by it. now watching this video I definetally agree, I'll take the first oppurtunity to go there! Also, why isn't anyone on Balkan talking about how amazing it is?? why do we underrate Slovenia so much
Hvala, da sta obiskala mojo državo. Vidim, da vama je bila všeč, obiščita nas še kdaj! Thanks for visiting my country. I see you liked it here, visit us some more!
Hey guys, I was so happy when you used that table in the Le Petit bar :) Some good memories came of the time more than 10 years ago when I was studying at a faculty near by and I spent just too many hours behind the same table. So big thanks :)
You guys are really nice to watch because you are full of positive energy. I live in Slovenia but u have shown me Ljubljana from a different perspective ! La petit rocks, we used to hang out there with friends after classes at uni. Best wishes, Sara
Alot of european cities have fresh farmers markets where they are not really in sight for tourists and mainly locals know about. But that one was impressive too. I love this video and Ljubljana looks beautiful city ~ cannot wait to see it one day
Never been to Ljubljaka, but the aero shots at the beginning of the film really made me think of Salzburg. The castel at the hilltop, rows of 18th/19th century houses around the hill, the riverbend, even a church with green copper dome!
Beautiful video! I just moved from Australia to Ireland and I'm planning where I want to go over the next few months/years and you keep adding to my list! Can't wait to visit Slovenia, looks AMAZING! :)
What is that with raw milk paranoia!? Milk from "milk-o-mats" (we have those on farmer's markets in Zagreb, too, as do Austrians, Germans, and others) is supposed to be drunk straight. Of course, if you prefer it, you can warm it up or even boil it, but that is by no means necessary and, in my opinion, ruins the taste. Raw, unpasteurized and unhomogenized milk is perfectly healthy as long as the cows are healthy, it is kept cold and is consumed within two or three days (after which it turns into sour milk - also yummy). Every single batch (which is allowed to stay in the vending machine for only 24 hours, never warmer than 4°C from the moment it was initially cooled while still in the milking machine) is tested by quick enzymatic essay against common pathogens, and at least once a week samples go to a laboratory for a thorough analysis. Cows also undergo regular, frequent veterinary inspection. (My company makes software that runs many of those laboratories and veterinary practices, so I have seen the procedures and statistics - have no worries!) BTW, those glass bottles are there for the convenience of infrequent buyers like yourself; regular customers like myself bring our own bottles (usually those same ones we initially bought from the milk-o-mat, but one can frequently see, say, a water bottle reused.)
I have been living in Los Angeles for the past 8 months and I am terribly homesick. This video made me even more homesick. Great review of my beautiful hometown! Thank you
Before watching that video I actually wanted to tell you about Le petit cafe. For me it's one of the best cafes in Ljubljana, it is near the music school me and my sister went to. Every time we finished our lessons, we would go to the cafe where our dad would be waiting and get muffins. And almost every Saturday we would go cycling in the morning and get breakfast there. Actually a lot of employes knows us and we love going there. So yea, I love that you went to Le petit cafe.
tamika392 because he was from Ljubljana he doesnt think to beauty of city if you understand me , he thinks that the city is beautiful but that you wouldnt be happy to live there. Sry for bad Eng
Also the street of Trubar is AMAZING. Trubar street has all these amazing little shops and restaurants and it is so cute and kinda cozy, my favourite street in the city, maybe ever haha
You have to visit metelkova city- it's not really a city but a place in Ljubljana (next to Ljubljana train station) and it has lots of graffiti and buildings where all alternative events are happening (such as concerts or parties).Such a beautiful and special place. Tivoli park is also great for picnic in summer time. :)
Flying The Nest oh wow this was QUICK. I very highly recommend my home town of Kamnik(a cute little town) for a quick trip and then go walk up the mountains there. Either go to Kamniško sedlo or Velika Planina. Velika planina is more casual walking but it has VERY unique stuff in summer that I think youll love. Kamniško sedlo is a saddle between two mountain peeks of Brano and Komna, in summer it is EXTREMELY beautiful and the view over the country is stunning. Also if you do visit Kamnik, do it at the time of Kamfest which is a local fair that is one of the biggest local festivals in Slovenia(it goes on for several days and every day there are several unique events and a unique market is opened as well), fortunately the festival is at summer(August I think) and you could combine that with the mountain trip as well. Have fun amd return to our country more as you have lots of stuff to discover :D(Piran, Ptuj, Škocjan caves, Julijske Alpe, Bela krajina is AMAZING, Kras and Goriška Brda where there is a local cherry festival, Maribor where there is the oldest grape vine in the world, the cave of Divje Babe where they found the OLDEST INSTRUMENT in the world!, etc etc etc etc etc!). Have fun :D
Just catching up on your Europe vlogs. Ljubljana & Lake Bled has been on my bucket list for a while, must make it there soon. Also your hotel link in the description links to the place you stayed in in Salzburg 😊
I am from Ljubljana and doing airbnb here and it's true...ALL of my guests who have visited Amsterdam said that Ljubljana is similar. That's why I called Ljubljana - Amsterdam from the South:)). Also Slovenians have similar mentality as Dutch do, that's why all of my guests from there feel here at home:)) BTW, great editing. Too bad you didn't come in summer for the better shots...
Just found your channel through this video of you visiting my (current) hometown! Probably don't have to say that I subscribed immediately - I absolutely love your vibes, personalities and of course, your videos. Hopefully, you come back to Slovenia during summer again, it's even more stunning then! Keep up the good work guys 💗
It's so cool to see how excited you were about seeing the city. I'm Slovenian and everything just kinda looks boring to me cuz I see it every day. It's much nicer in summer tho. I'm glad you enjoyed your time here
Loving the Aerial shots, looks amazing...! A market without crowds would be the best... Take your time to soak it all in & get the perfect fruit / veg / dairy... :) Wonder if I'll get anything like the "Beast From The East" for my winter 18/19 trip...
Once again ❤️ ❤️ these videos!! These Vlogs could be used for advertisements 😍 Jess's outfits blend perfect with the beauty of Slovenia😍 love you guys! Keep up the great work👍🏽
Oh my god! I am so sad I didn't know you were in Ljubljana and Bled! I am from Slovenia, living in Ljubljana and if I knew that, I would definitely show you around a bit if you were interested! Maybe next time if you wish to visit again! 😊
This is the first video I’ve watched o yours & I really enjoyed it!!! I think Slovenia is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen and I hope I get to experience it one day. May I ask how you guys are always traveling? Is it just from UA-cam? Anyways, I loved the content!!
I hade no idea that Ljubljana was this beautiful, I'm from Serbia, which is like very close to Slovenia both in terms of physical distance and language similarity. Yup I can say that Serbia is very much similar to Slovenia, so if you are still on your bucket list world travel, be sure to check out a town here. Serbia can be magical. I can't stop watching your travelling vlogs, thank you so much for the high quality content! Doviđenja! (Goodbye)
I actually live in Slovenia and it's really cool to see that you love it so much. Made my day. It's funny when you try to pronounce the name tho😂Also love the video. It's beautiful
The building you called a palace is the university of Ljubljana, all the administration is in that building, behind that building is a building called NUK, national and univerzity library 😊
Back to the Europe vlogs :)! Hope you guys had an awesome weekend! What did you get up to?
If you are new around here make sure you hit subscribe :) ua-cam.com/users/flyingthenest
I think it's very illegal to use a drone in urban areas without permission in Slovenia...
+ where I work we produced machines that made that youghurt 8:49 :) those farmer's cheeses are also the best.
Flying The Nest I'm from Slovenia! Glad you liked it❤
I live in ljubljana 😁
Flying The Nest nice vlog, really captured the beauty of our capital. However, I think you should visit Ljubljana in the summer (because it's a better experience, since you're not constantly freezing)
I love seeing Ljubljana from the eyes of a tourist, we, the locals, often forget how beautiful it really is :)
Lea Loti Dresden in beautiful, not Ljubljana
Every city has it's own charm, including Ljubljana :)

Coming to the marketplace on Fridays is great when the Open Kitchen (Odprta Kuhna) is up. This year it's from March 20 - October every sunny Friday.
I am Slovenian, and I will be visiting the country for the first time this summer! Can’t wait!❤️
I loved this place when I went. It’s so calming ,
People who know great music or who are musicians know Ljubljana. What a beautiful city.
Wow, I wouldn't have thought that Slovenia can be this beautiful in winter!
If you ever visit Slovenia again I recommend you visit the Postojna cave and the Postojna castle.
River Soča (Isonzo) where you can go rafting and river Mura (Mur) where you can see the watermills (it’s also the river that gave name to Prekmurje -a region in Slovenia meaning ‘over Mur’).

oooh this is such a good list of stuff, we will have to try and make a return trip to Slovenia someday!
Wonder how it looks in summertime...much better I guess. Have to visit these slavic places sometimes, imagine cruising the river in Ljubljana.
Love the music and the camera work. You guys are awesome!

Your videos are so amazing. It doesn't get enough recognition it deserves!
Thank you so much Annette 😊
I'll never get tired of the way tourists, especially English try to pronounce the capital name.
Makes me really happy.
Slovenia is soooo incredible! I went this summer and made a little vlog too and it was honestly so beautiful!
Alot of european cities have fresh farmers markets where they are not really in sight for tourists and mainly locals know about. But that one was impressive too.

Nice you love my Ljubljana. Unfortunately you don't have good weather. if you have it you will have much, much better view from castle to mountains.
Haha yeah it was that crazy winter snap that came through Europe!
I know right we have such bad weather, expecially in April and May!
Now I feel even more proud of being part Slovenian.
Yes indeed Ljubljana is beautiful city.
Been twice and really enjoy being there.
Beautiful country too.
🇨🇵🇸🇮🤝
You should have gone to Nebotičnik. It is on Slovenska cesta and on top there is a caffee and a wonderful view of whole western Ljubljana

That place looked incredible!! I love that you don't just do it for the vlogs, that you actually love to experience it for yourself as well :)
Ljubljana ♥️ Slovenija 👍🇸🇮
Before watching that video I actually wanted to tell you about Le petit cafe. For me it's one of the best cafes in Ljubljana, it is near the music school me and my sister went to. Every time we finished our lessons, we would go to the cafe where our dad would be waiting and get muffins. And almost every Saturday we would go cycling in the morning and get breakfast there. Actually a lot of employes knows us and we love going there. So yea, I love that you went to Le petit cafe.
