Have owned the D7500 since it came out and love it! Upgraded from an old D80. It came with the 18-300 kit lens which is a nice all around lens although nothing special about that lens. I have purchased some Nikon prime lenses that have the "nano crystal coatings" and they make a big difference in the image quality, color is better and they are sharper as well. The camera shoots great 4K video which is nice to have. I use the camera a lot in low light situations and I get perfect results every time. I shoot in raw and what can be adjusted in editing is fantastic. I am not a pro shooter so having only the one memory slot does not matter to me and I never had more than the one in my old cameras. Have fun testing the camera out!
I recently got the D7500 with the kit lens, I love the camera and for a semi-professional photographer its a great value for money. The camera takes amazing photos and I tried even night shots and the results are amazing. I am very pleased with the performance of the D7500 and am happy to own one.
You all probably dont care at all but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Ayden Calvin I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I like the D7500. My walk around lens is the Nikon 24-85 F 2.8 D lens. I have used it on my Nikon 80-400 lens and Tamron 16-300 Also A Tokina Macro 100 mm f 2.8 It's a great tool.
Have just got the D7500 with this kit lens. One word - Awesome! just got the 50mm 1.8G lens also. Going to keep it like that for a while and just enjoy my photography of two young sons aged 2 and 5 and some lanscape pics in local woodland areas.
Its a nice camera, actually perfect of enthusiast users, lack of second SD card prevents it from being a wedding camera, AF is good and low light performance is top of line for an APS-C camera. Still I would want the D500 mainly for the AMAZING AF system!
I still think that the D7200 is actually a better camera overall, they intentionally screwed the D7500 up, if I had to choose, D7200+ lenses or D7500 I'd choose D7200 10 out of 10 times.
I love D7500. it is more responsive and better AF and improved body feel/ ergonomics over D7200. Am not used to a touch screen but tilt is good! Could the D7500 I got from B&H as 'used' at small discount from regular retail, last NOV 2017 be review model? Body
Enjoyed your video! I've had the 18-140mm kit lens on my Nikon D7200 for several years now, and it makes an EXCELLENT outdoor lens shooting in Aperture priority mode: THANKS for the refresher course!
I have the 3100 paired with my 50mm 1.8 i gotta say you can see the noise from iso higher than 800 after all the camera is old, can you tell that the iso is at 800 on the 7500??
??? so i have 18-55 nikon lens and 70-300mm im gonna be doing faa stock show photo shooting indoors at various places including the bigh houston show; i have 500 to spend; what lens would you suggest??
What is the default lens for the Nikon D7500? Is it the 18-140mm VR Lens? I ordered the camera from Amazon but just got it and there's no lens, just the body. I'm looking to do videos and photos, I just want the default lens.
There is no specific default lens. The 18-140 is just one of the lenses that it comes with, a kit lens, but there are several kits available. If you want to do video with it, I would recomment an af-p lens because of the silent and fast autofocus. 10-20, 18-55 or 70-300 are available and good value. For vlogging the 10-20 is good, particularly for 4k video because of the added 1.5 crop factor. 10-20 is ultra wide angle, also good for landscape and special perspective.
Hello Matt greetings from Heines Gjelstrup Denmark .. nice to see you want to test the D7500, please consider how too use older Nikon lenses and the ability to calibrate different new lenses on the camera in your test .. looking forward to see the result of your the test, and hopefully get my old Pentax K1000 replaced😁 thank you Matt.
How well does the camera do in low light in terms of auto focus performance, as well as post processing as compared to older ones like the D7200 as well as entry level such as the D5600 How much of an improvement do you get. Mainly wondering since at its price point, for the D7500 body only, you can get a used low shutter count D500, thus I feel it is good to see what truly sets it apart from someone looking to upgrade from a D5500 or D5600, or even someone who has had a D7200 for a long time. I am mainly asking from the perspective of someone who does not need a fast burst rate but needs reliable performance in both indoors (average indoor lighting) and outdoors.
I've had a D80 for a while, but it's time to upgrade. Considering a D7200 due to budget restrictions. Have you been satisfied with its performance? I'll be using the camera for both landscape/wildlife photography plus pet portraiture in a studio setting. Thanks for any insight on this model.
Currently own a Lumix g7 which takes stunning 4k videos but the image quality is just alright. Would I be downgrading by purchasing the camera? I need something with better quality photos but that won't sacrifice video. Thank you!
I’ll answer my own question ...the D750O is very close to D500 ..image quality is brilliant ...the screen is awesome.i bought the d7500 last week ...love it. My partner is getting my D3400. And she loves the d3400..happy days for everyone. I’m curious about the 18-140 for a general one lense option.
depends what you're shooting. I shoot a lot of portrait stuff, so i use the 35mm or the 70-200 I also use the 18-140mm for action shots - you need to find out what you're likely to shoot more of before you decide on the lens.
The 35mm is my favourite. Primes literally teach you how to be a better photographer. You need to move around, frame and think. Also the 1.8 gives you even more options to be creative in low light environments. And is cheap!
Folks do not buy Nikon if you are going to shoot videos too. If you are beginner in photography don't be stupid and buy Nikon because is cheap. buy mirrorless camera , Canon have the M50. If you MUST buy a nikon , do not get the 18-140mm kit lens, the weight of that lens is 500gr and it will make you feel it if you are going to carry it around for a day long. It an advice. I have nikon D5500 with 18-140mm i end up using 35mm 1.8 lens all time . i regret Nikon purchase was stupid from my side, i have to live with it. i cant afford replacing the camera.

Hello and nice video ! Would a Nikon D7500 with 18-140mm be a better beginner DSLR ? My budget are about 2500$ ...

It's on my radar to buy. My only expertise is with the D3400 and looking to upgrade.. seems to be a good product for the price.

Loved this camera ever since i got it
It's about time that more people like Matt review such a powerful DSLR.
I was waiting for you to do a review on Conon 90D Very recently i found out that you have passed away, haw sad .Rip my friend
This guy passed away? And I just now subscribed cause I liked his personality. God bless him!
Why don’t they do factory seals????
RIP
I looked at RAW files from this camera and in my opinion this is the best apsc sensor on the market (together with d500 of course).
If only Nikon had put a dual card slot in the d7500
yeah but they wanted to keep it for the better d500
They also wanted to compete more with the parallel that Canon has (don’t remember the model)
RIP - So sad to hear you've gone :(
What happened?

Eshel Art Photography it's still a fast focusing camera
absolutely, but the D500 is on a whole different level, I own a D750 and D850 and the AF on the D850 is almost like magic :)
I love D7500. it is more responsive and better AF and improved body feel/ ergonomics over D7200. Am not used to a touch screen but tilt is good! Could the D7500 I got from B&H as 'used' at small discount from regular retail, last NOV 2017 be review model? Body

Hi, Now a days I am using nikon d5600 . I want to upgrade my camera which should I buy nikon d7500 or d7200? Which one is the best for image quality.
how to take photos following Rule of Thirds using nikon D7500. I am bit confuse because grild lines are half and making no intersection. thanks
Like the weight of the 7500 over the 500, but the 500's AF system is a bit of a clincher!

D7500 is a marvellous camera 📷

I have both the 7500and 3400, love both, 7500 on sale May 2019, is very nice. I like the 3400 better than the specs of the 3500. RIP Matt.
can this camera use a batterie grip ?
Yes it can
joe wolf. I confirmed and doublechecked, no external battery grip for sure.
Pls advice me to buy best lens for d7500
