This is tough. Working, cooking, working out, maintenance, training for Olympics. You do have a better control over your day than many. I really admire your dedication, discipline and consistency. God speed Marco. May you win all that you strive for
This man managed to call me lazy over the course of the entire 12 minute video. Oh god, what am I doing with my life. Keep up the good work because you’re inspiring af 😅
Even if the Olympics doesn’t come, you are truly inspiring. I’m a swimmer too. Most of my friends left the sport a couple years ago. This content comforts me while I struggle not to leave it. I hope that one day I can be just like you.
@@luism93g I live in a third world country, and for some cultural, educational, economical, societal, and other factors it’s quite complicated to handle both (ngl also my laziness) if you have some tips I would appreciate them.
@@Diego0wnz "vulnerable day" as if we have to appreciate it. He's using the speedo shots for views. I'd hope you can think outside of your little box of a typical npc who repeats random sh.t they see on the internet. And what makes an npc think everyone else has to think like them?
Hello from Turkey. I am also a software engineer and my biggest passion is swimming. I go swimming every chance I get from work. Also, playing the piano is the thing that calms me down the most and makes me feel like I'm meditating. Do I need to get into the topic of cats? I can't believe I have a male twin on the other side of the world. Apart from the difference in people and place in this video, we are completely similar people. wow
It's cool to see the apparently seamless transition back to Cali and training-while incorporating work into the mix. I assume there was a LOT of effort to get you and Loki moved, and resettled. Thanks for bringing us along on this new adventure!
Marcos, great video and very real. No sugar coating on how you bring success to your life. Admire your consistency, and willingness to deal with boredom not matter what.
I am a true fan.... of yours, your accomplishments, dreams, give me a lot of inspiration ,hope, motivation I am cheering you on while you are training for the Olympics ...
I hope you do read this message, Marcos: I'm not training at Olympic level yet (but i do know how to), but I'm still a working student at school and swimming for me became from a hobby to something I'm considering to become serious. I love my life as an athlete more, but I think my training versus your training is far more different because I kinda developed an unhealthy obsession over like swimming where it takes up my free time as well. The part where you showed your hobbies (10:41) kinda hit me hard because I think gaming can be a hobby, but my friends have been telling me to get off your computer due to like my work is also in the computer as well (studying and work-work).
wow this truly something. I always admire people who goes to Olympics. You need a lot of discipline for the feat. Good luck! will look out for you in Olympics.
So excited for this new chapter. Would love to hear you share the story of how this came about? Do u train with Cal up until the Olympics? Are you competing at meets?
Me two. I asked the same question and got the same answer as you did…. I already knew the background dunces I watched it as well from the start. Just would love the story how Marco got to the point of this new chapter. Thx
you’re gonna go far in life! you live simply, you work hard and smart. people wonder why some people succeed and others don’t. we all get the same 24 hours, do we make excuses or go for “it”? From another young person that tries to get the most out of my day to you - well done! God bless bro
> we all get the same 24 hours, do we make excuses or go for “it” Circumstances change everything. If you have to work 2 jobs, then no training. If you didn't have the chance to have access to a good university team, then you have to train twice harder, etc... And that's discarding all the non-predictable shit that can happen in your life with family, partner, friends.
@@TheQu3tzalifyI agree with you, not everyone has the same circumstances. Go in my country where commuting to school or work even if it’s relatively near takes a fraction of your day. But Im glad this man has the right mindset and right circumstances for him to succeed in life.

hey, really cool to see people who live their lives to their max. I have similar lifestyle, full-time software engineer and ballroom dancer, I really like how your day is split into small segments and that u constantly change between work/sports activities, I think it makes it more engaging and u don't get bored, in my case I usually work 8 hours straight as my training is in the evening but I think I will change it to your style on days when i free-practise. How do u deal with weekends? Sometimes I feel like my social life is a bit poor as I constantly commit to my week schedule.
Great vid! I'm genuinely curious if thats all you eat in a day doing so much physical activity 🤯? Seems crazy, I'm a triathlete and I eat like 3x that doing a similar amount of training. I would have thought an olympian would be taking in at least wayyy more protein than that - keep it up, really entertaining regardless
Same thought, two pieces of toast with an egg and pieces of tomato, that’s kind of nothing, after more than one and half hours swim and then gym and serious work not even count the scooter travels between training sites and home. 😢
Marcos very interesting through out the day video. I liked the content. Did you move back to California to train for the upcoming Olympics ? How about doing a video advertising your swim equipment? Take care and I wish you make it to the Olympics. Proud of you
Seems like your mental fortitude is really strong to push physically during practice and mentally at work to learn new things. However, it seems like you are very tired during work because you are practicing twice a day. Hopefully this doesn't break you down long term because there is only so much time in the day and so much you can commit to in your life. Something always takes a hit and getting more sleep could be extremely beneficial to you.
This is the 1st video ive seen of you and its great to watch im a swimmer too, im training for SANJ (South African Junior nationals) next year and its really hard i do 8 swimming sessions 3 morning 5 afternoon and 5 gym sessions.
Marcos, hi, so fun to watch you on your journey. I am new to swimming and there's a backstory there. Swimming open water is a dream of mine. Starting in the pool and being comfortable there is where I hope to start in the spring. I love to see you playing the piano too. I am waiting to tune mine. Loki is so cute. It was funny to see you moving her off things throughout the filming process. Ha! That food looks really good. I hope you have a nice rest of your day :)
Seems like a very low amount of calories for the amount of swimming and workout you're doing but what do I know, guess that's the life of Olympic training
Marcos! Now that you don't having dining at your office, how are you eating enough calories to maintain while you train so much? Are you generally just eating out more or are you cooking way more now for yourself?
I think Marcos is behind the camera for that clip :) I believe they're wearing Arena Powerfin Pro, judging by the open-heel design & color. They're comfortable fins and very popular among college teams right now.
Every time I watch any of your videos it motivates me and makes me feel better. You work really hard and your hardwork is admirable, you are a very good person. I wish you the best, take care of yourself🤍
