  • From April 17 to April 25 2003, a detachment of 87 cadets and 13 staff attended RAAF Base Richmond to participate in the April 2023 Musicians Course. This was the first time that 344 Flight had ran a band course, vocal course, and for the first time, a drum course!
On the evening of Sunday 23rd April, both the Band and Choir performed a number of songs that they had been rehearsing during the week.
Here the band performs 'Music from How to Train Your Dragon'. The film score for this hit movie features magnificent adventure themes along with hints of Celtic influences. Sean O'Loughlin's expertly scored arrangement will provide a fresh and appealing experience for all audiences!.
Conducted by SQNLDR John Buckley, Principal Musical Director of 344 Musicians Flight

Hey 3 wing band, Sounding great! I recently saw the upcoming musicians course in September, is that going to be like the one in April where they will be able to teach cadets how to do the drums?? and is everyone welcome to do it? or is it for people who nominated for the one in April but wasn't able to do it due to how many people attended?
    Thanks

      Hi Calissa. Thank you!
We are unsure if we are going to run a drum course in September. If we do run it, it will be open for all cadets in 3 Wing, so please keep your eye out for the activity on CadetNet, and nominate when it opens!

Wish 8 wing had more members that played instruments other than drums.

Hi! There is a new band that has started in 7WG for wind instruments. We have previously had cadets from other wings join us on Musicians Courses, it just takes a bit more preparation (and you will likely have to cover transport costs yourself). Feel free to email me to discuss further at 3wgaafcband@gmail.com
