I remember watching that lipslide as a kid, thinking it was one of the gnarliest things I’d ever seen. Heath’s skating is both super gnarly and beautifully graceful. The Moody Blues Sight Unseen part, or the Mellow song Emerica part. Skateboarding really did have more magic and wonder back then.
You can tell a session with Kirchart was a different vibe, you just sat back and watched without saying anything even the hype when he stuck it wasn’t there. Very serious tricks going down so long ago though so it makes sense he was taking it seriously!
These kind of tricks are alway's taken seriously when it's literally life and death. That's the kind of trick that can either paralyze a man for life or straight up kill you.

I remember getting hassled a lot and random people pulling over to call the cops if we skated in schools or in front of someone’s house, but now people actually seem interested in the tricks and will actually stop to give props.

Heath is so gnarly. I have been to that rail. I randomly spotted it at UCI and recognized it. Standing at the top is ridiculous. It looks like it would be impossible to Ollie on to. Shoulder to head height. And the drop off on the other side is death defying.
Other angle of the 21 stair lipslide was in the Sight Unseen footage after credits, if I remember correctly. A pity he never did it, he truly deserved to roll away. Balls of steel for sure.

Watching Heath try that lipslide reminds me of a time my buddy was trying to backside 5050 this chunky 12 stair hubba. I remember him getting into a b/s 5 0, slipping into a boardslide and even a one foot b/s smith. That was one of the few sessions I was worried something fucked up was going to happen.
